After years of false starts and lots of writing for myself, I've finally made the jump, and gotten published! Introducing my debut novella, No Good Deed...!
(https://zme-caps.amazon.com/asset/SSE/content/4472424/THUMBNAIL_IMAGE?versionId=2&awsClient=416214191754%3Auser%2FMainsite&urlMethod=GET&expires=32917843873572&requestId=0fae6882-359e-11e3-9b44-839c198ca129&sig=88ace72c8d496798e4a332485379b90ecd4cf7facf211f552fcb7cb18b67d1cb&serial=1)
It will soon be available through Amazon, and there will be both a Kindle and Nook version available within the next few hours, but you can check it out direct through the CreateSpace store here (https://www.createspace.com/4472424).

Congratulations. It is a big step to complete a novel. <S>
-
Indeed. Congrats. I am still working on it myself and the ending is way off.
-
Congrats!
It looks interesting, I may have to get a copy.
-
Good for you. I used to write for some outdoors publications and while nothing near as exciting as your accomplishment I know what it feels like to first be published.
-
Outstanding Saxman!
-
Congratulations!
It's nice knowing I'm not the only person who enjoys writing here. :)
-
Awesome, I will grab it on my Kindle when I get home. :rock

Amazon is dragging their feet making it available, but I'm keeping an eye on it (last attempt errored because of some false error in the account information  ). The Nook release appears to be available now, tho.
And thanks for the words of support, all. And be sure to tell your friends and family about it! Still working out the marketing side of this business, I'm a writer, not a salesman. :-P

Elsebeth? I'll still pronounce that Elizabeth as I read it on the Kindle.
Congrats Sax

Congrats Sax
Elsabeth is an older and more obscure form of Elisabeth/Elizabeth, of English origin. In fact the names of all the characters in the story are chosen quite carefully in regards to their language of origin.

Congrats Saxman. Have you posted this over at westeros.org? It's the largest forum for A song of Ice and Fire, hundreds of thousands of members, and I've always participated in the writing and other novelists threads over there. From a sales perspective, it'd be a REAL good idea, as many, many authors, and even more aspiring authors post there regularly about new blood.
If you haven't already, I'll drop a thread in there, it'll will certainly drum up some interest and reviews of your work.
Great job!

Thanks for the suggestion! Feel free to drop a thread over there. I'm not a fan of the series, so I don't want to go over there just to spam their forums. :D

An old bull and a young bull stand on a hillside, overlooking a pasture. The young bull says to the old bull, “Hey, let’s run down and bop one of those heifers.” The old bull replies, “let’s walk down and bop ‘em all.”

<---- Steals the old bulls wheel chair, rides down the hill and leaves the old bull a herd of sloppy heifers.

Finished. Not being familiar with fancy architectural terms had me using the dictionary a bit more than usual, but splendidly written and fantastic attention to detail.
I still can't believe you sent a hottie up the the privy chute. <shudders>

Just a little bump for anyone in the St. Louis area:
I'll be doing a signing at Rocking Horse Books on 11052 Olive Blvd in Creve Coeur on Saturday, Dec. 21st from 1-3pm.
So if you're in the St. Louis area and fancy picking up a signed copy (or two or four, great for gifts!) and meeting one of your resident Corsair nuts, now's your chance!

Congrats!
Out of curiosity, how many times did you get rejected by publishers? I had to write a children's book for a class in school, and on the suggest of my teacher, tried to get it published. Rejection sucks :bhead.

I had forgotten about this Sax until I saw this thread get bumped today. I don't have a kindle, but decided to try out the Kindle App for my new Ipad, and it worked fantastically for getting your book from Amazon, it took me less than 5 minutes to download the app, figure it out, and purchase your novella. I'm impressed so far, great work for a first publication, keep it up.

Quite a few. In part I was handicapped because it's a novella rather than a full-length novel, and was too long for a magazine.
