Need an option to switch from window mode to full screen after hitting the damned windows key.

I dont think we ahve a window mode for aces high. we did a year or two ago but we no longer have it.

Yes we have it and it sucks because there's no way to get out of it without restarting the game! :mad:

may I ask how you enable window mode for aces high? for all I have is full screen.

It would be easier just to disable the Windows key on your keyboard. There are four methods to do it.
1) Buy a keyboard with the feature to disable the Windows key
2) Go to Microsoft's "Fix It" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216893#FixItForMeAlways) site and click on the "Disable Windows Key" button to have it automatically done for you
3) Or you can disable the key manually by following the steps listed below. CAUTION- Don't try this if you're not confident in editing registry files.
4) Use the "Caldera Method" and take a flat head screw driver and rip out the Windows key and fling it out the window while cursing MS and Bill Gates.
To disable the Windows key, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedt32, and then click OK.
2. On the Windows menu, click HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE on Local Machine.
3. Double-click the System\CurrentControlSet\Control folder, and then click the Keyboard Layout folder.
4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, type in Scancode Map, click REG_BINARY as the Data Type, and then click OK.
5. Type 00000000000000000300000000005 BE000005CE000000000 in the Data field, and then click OK.
6. Close Registry Editor and restart the computer.

Tried the link. Got some bs message about this will not work with your version of windows. Windows key 1 and 2 (yeah there were two because lord knows you can never find the windows key fast enough) now extracted from my keyboard.
However, some kind of obtrusive popup will invariably rear it's stupid face in the future causing AH to minimize, and we still don't have a way to maximize it.

If you used the 'Caldera Method', did you remember to curse MS and Bill Gates? If you didn't, the keys will magically reappear on your keyboard.

How about clicking on the Aces High button on the start bar?
Or you can use Alt-tab to cycle through the applications which are minimized?
Maybe I am missing the problem here as I cannot seem to duplicate it. When I press the "Windows" key, the game is properly minimized. I click on the resulting button added to the task bar and bring it right back up.
If you are stuck with Windows 8, did Microsoft also remove the Alt-tab function for cycling through what was minimized?

I have encountered a problem when I Alt/Tab or window key out of AH. Sometimes the game cycles down then is full screen again, but the mouse is locked in the windows interface. The best way to get it back is to try and click the AH icon in the Start bar (which is hidden under the game). Alt tab works but I have to cycle out then back in again.
A windows mode would be nice as I hate losing the Vox when I tab out to check facts/mission requirements etc. Other games I have played even had an option to allow game sounds to be heard when the game was minimized.
