Post by: wpeters on February 24, 2014, 08:32:32 PM
Really brings home the horror of what going to war is.  We'll worth your time to watch. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt1559549/

I found the movie/documentary "Armadillo" to be more like my time in A'stan.  Both are excellent watches.

Yeah, it follows a Dutch infantry platoon through their deployment, so there are subtitles, but in my personal experience, it shows what it is really like.  At least from what I dealt with over there.  I don't want to take away from Restrepo, it's a great documentary.  I just think the other two that I mentioned are much better. :salute

It is a very good watch if you want to see the Afghanistan we are leaving behind & how the "friendly" Afghans actually feel about us.

Or how to fail at nation building. It's "hearts and minds" all over again. Only politicians can delude themselves into believing Afghanistan can be made civilized quickly, and gently...
