Title: Fighting Training
Post by: LCADolby on April 22, 2014, 07:50:50 AM
Outside of the official trainers,

I am offering my services to those who wish to bridge the gap between "regular" and Veteran".

PM me, find me in game, join my squad. I don't care how you do it, just find me and I'll help you like I have many others. Look for in game name "CARGNICO"

What you can expect;
At first I'll gently duel you a few rounds to gather observations. I will then offer you tips and hints where to improve and expand your knowledge.
I'll run different drills for attacking and defending, I'll possibly run through films of selected duels with commentary in private with you via youtube links or even a film dedicated to your chosen aircraft.
If you listen and pick up what I'm saying, you'll progress closer and closer to the point you want to be at.

My commitment to you;
I have a squad to run and fun to have, but in our training sessions you'll have my 100% attention.

There is more to AcesHigh than taking bases in massive swarms of aircraft, and running away from a fight.
When I'm finished with you, you'll want to fight against those hordes for target practice.

 :salute

As someone who's had help from Dolby before, he knows his stuff and this is an excellent chance.
One on one, Dolby's a fine teacher.  He knows those 109's inside and out too...

My time zone is GMT, so pretty early afternoons by US standards I guess except the times I can stay awake late.

That should work.  I don't usually get on at that time but when time permits I will check to see if you are on and available.

Do you have a particular plane you prefer your student to take up?

Had my session this afternoon.  Dolby is a gifted instructor.  If you get a chance, take him up on his offer, it will be time well spent.  He worked both the technical end of the fight with the mental attitude necessary to win.

Thanks Dolby. :aok

(The GMT timezone issue is an issue  :uhoh. US West coast suitable times make my brain a little mushy on explaining things.)

ha if your giving lessons to schen he blasted me out of the sky. im the worst pilot in the game by far. im not without confidence but i believe it will take a act of god for me to learn to fly a fighter and not die even in a 1 on 1 fight. i constantly stall out, lose track of the other guy, you name it i make the mistake. so if your really up for a challenge and have that godly touch of Superior heavenly, magical gift of instructing    lol, give me a shot,. not knowing who you fly with , i fly rooks but you can ask around i chatted with doc4 with bish and schen along with others to see if they can tell me how easy i am and see what pointers i can grab .just ask about magic58 they all shoot me down  :headscratch:

well thanks for the encouragement schen my normal game time is about 900 pm or 2100 cst till 4 am or 0400 except on weekends and if you remember i was dog meat in your gun sights. i try to visit the training area but with my later hours i do not have the time as most do working evenings therefore feel free to use what ever time you need if your more available. if i can get maybe 10 to 15 mins or so  ill be happy. just to find out what im doing that is so wrong. last night i was extremely frustrated and felt like i needed divine help from the gods. so  :salute and i hope i dont end up in your gun sights anytime soon lol

I started this with the intention of helping encourage people to fight a lot more, and perhaps try to get into fights and enjoy them.
Sadly a few of the people I have helped have been using my tips to do the opposite to what I intended.
And as such I no longer offer any training to anyone outside of my squad.
Sadly the few have ruined it for the many.

<S> to those I have helped and have used my advice to fight. It was great fun, and enjoyable watching people progress, while it lasted.

Mikey come find the crab in-game "FBCrabby"! I am more than happy to help you get your wings!

If you're lucky some friends of mine will join in to and help you fight me! No better way to learn than hands-on!

I am on literally every night, just type in ".f FBCrabby" I pop up everywhere, if you cannot find me, you will probably run into one of my squaddies and they'll point you in the right direction...

     No good deed goes unrewarded. You can encourage but you can't change a person's mindset.

wow well it looks like i will be doing alot of pms and roster checks when i log in . INK i have not seen you yet but will have a look . as far as FBCRABBY ha well you got in my gunsights in a wirlbie a few times. thats 1 place you dont want to be hehehehe  if there is 1 thing im good at its shooting down planes on the ground. . i thank you guys now and want you to know how much i appreciate the time your offering. i can tell you all right now my biggest issues are orientation in the air viewing and feeling the aircraft what it can and cannot do. most of the time you will see me looking like a drill bit which im pretty sure i make the deepest hole in the ground by now. so my name in the game is MAGIC58 and i am a rook.  i will pm you  if you dont have time or with squadies thats ok . i currently use a logitec 3d pro stick which is still a bit stiff . i usually logon about 9 pm central time spend an hour in the training area practice with morfiend if he is not busy which i usually end up being a different size drill bit and find new angles in which bury myself. <salute>

Sorry to read this.  My session with you really helped but it takes a good bit of time to change old habits.  I have those moments when I say to myself, "Oh ya! Now it makes sense on what he was trying to show me."  I switched the P-38 last tour just to force myself to fight my way out.  Back to the 47 this tour and trying to work all that back in on that plane.

As far as I know MrKrabs doesn't present himself as a trainer. Many players will help new players but I wouldn't expect help in the main arena from players on the other side.

Players looking for training can post a training request. Let us know what time you're generally available and what you'd like to work on.
