Over it ! For the last few months this game has seemed to get worse and worse. I just wasn't having fun anymore. Tonite was the final straw for me. We (Bishops) won the map. I don't know how.. since lately trying to get 2 bishops to do something together is like herding cats. Anyway, the new map opens, and instantly the Nits and Rooks are ganging us. The thing is.. The Nits only have 3 bases on our front lines.. I call out repeatedly "Do not get stuck defending ! Pork their 3 fields and it will stop them in their tracks !" But the call goes unanswered, The bishops instead opt to keep upping from the same capped field, hoping to shoot one or two planes down before getting picked. and the Nits roll 4 bases in under an hour.
I give up, I switched to Nits, and right off the bat the game became FUN again ! for starters... Vox was busy, but it was tactical. People calling check six, communicating about what was going on, plans being made.. when the large group was capturing a field, others were already prepping the next. pretty much everybody was working together.
On Bish vox, you hardly EVER get a check six. and 90% of the vox traffic is players complaining about being horded, ho'd or picked.
Anyway... im over it. I'll be flying Nit for now on and looking forward to killing a few Bish that have been on my nerves for a long time ! like TOSH !

It's just certain behaviors I see over and over.. for example, I'm flying towards a huge red darbar, I look around and see I have plenty of "buddies" around. Next thing I know, I have tracers zipping by me. I think "how can this be ? all my team mates around and no check 6 ??" so I split S, and as I look down.. there's my answer.. 10 Bish diving on a single con 6k below :mad: or my favorite.. defending a town, and you look at the dar and see 20 green dots following 1 red dot AWAY from town, then poof, it's their field, and the ack shoots me down. :mad:
3 times tonite while flying Nit, a got into a sticky situation, only to look back and see a team mate come swooping in and clear my six. while flying Bish....mostly only your 12 gets cleared.

Knits have been going through a transformation lately. It's appalling and I've started a petition but no one seems to be signing it... :( Their ENY bonus is a lot lower than it used to be (under 1.00) which makes me wonder where the extra players are coming from... :headscratch:

One of my favorite things to do when there is a lull in the fight, Is to mess with Tosh. Every time I hear that pissy lil voice over Vox I cant help but to respond and get him all fired up ! sometimes I can get him so infuriated he gets killed, augers, or just rage logs. I've even vulched him on the runway a few times to show my displeasure with him (was worth the kill shot) :devil. My only regret is that I wont be able to hear him cry when I repeatedly HO him in the coming days :neener:

You kid yourself if you think there is a fundamental difference between chess pieces. The real difference is which squadrons and a few dominant players play in your time. This also changes over the time of year and when squadrons rotate.

For the record the only night of the week Sunday. For about 3-4 hours is when three or four nit squadrons team up together & roll on. Tommorrow night you will wonder why you turned Nit.
It's like this on all sides trust me.

No, you are so wrong. Over the years certain squads and/or players have effected the "attitude" of each country. Yes each country has players that play alike, but IS an overall difference in the way the 3 teams generally act.
this can be proven by just listening to Bish VOX for a few minutes, you'll constantly hear Bish complain "damn Nits, every time you get on one's six, another picks you off !" I've said this quite a few times myself.
I'm so glad to hear you found a country who's players lives revolve around you.
Many maps are sure to be won by the Knits with you at the helm of the armchair.

I've seen plenty of teamwork on the Bish side, and lack of it as well. Happens on each chess piece depending on who's logged in at the time. You have to admit, ghi, flakhappy, Joker, Chewie and a few others runs some pretty good base take missions.

Hmmm...when half the bishops launch a successful mission there's always complaining about "hoarding". Yet when 2 or 3 lone bishops try to tak a base and fail they're criticized for their apparent lack of teamwork. No matter what you do, there's always someone who's gonna complain. No matter what team you're in. And somehow it's never their fault...

i have found all sides are pretty much the same with the exception of a few minor differences , each side have their anchors who play the game a certain way and its fun to tag along and learn some new techniques , by switching and staying awhile you will figure out where you best fit in .... for the record the Knights have the best furballers in the game IMO , so dont get frustrated if you feel all the other sides are ganging you , its really a compliment

This pretty much makes my point ! As a BISH, I avoided fireballs at all costs. You were pretty much on your own in a sea of planes. And when you did manage to gain somebody's six, or work them down low and slow... You would either get picked off, or another Bish would buzz in and take your kill. As I said earlier, the communication on the Nit side was awesome. And the team work was equally amazing. I felt like I was part of an actual team.

When was the last time the Bish ran a successful mission ? All I tend to see are hordes in response to hordes and somewhere along the way somebody thinks to bring a goon. Yes GHI and Joker USED TO run some good missions, but they are few and far between anymore.

dude you gonna be disappointed, we in the knights are against getting organized and will only furball. trust me on this, dont get your hopes high on getting a check six. if you hear on vox two guys saying something like "hey watch that con get on his six, watch", that means they're talking about you having a con on your six. then you'll hear them laughing saying "that was so funny" :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

The endless moaning IS stupid semp. And I suspect the one yelling at you about being too low was one of those "personalities" I'm referring to. The point is that so many players feel the need to cheapen what the opponent does, while elevating their own behavior. "We" have missions, "They" horde. It's ridiculous.
Here's another example. I routinely hear people bad mouthing guys like dr7 or Poolfool for "camping". Do I beat them sometimes? Sure. But the pendulum usually swings in their favor. The simple truth is that those guys are better tankers than many of us. They're not using "aim bots", or "yanking the cable", or "shooting thru mountains", or doing any of the other ridiculous things I hear people whine incessantly about when they lose an engagement.
With the exception of skill level, there's not a nickels worth of difference between any of us and the way we play.

While there are exceptions in all countries, they are certainly a minority. 50 Bish upping from a capped feild over and over only to lose that feild, and then repeat the same 3 more times.. While the "exceptions" yell repeatedly "help pork the front line" is a perfectly example of a deeply rooted mentality.
On the other hand, there have been countless times I've stumbled upon a Nit CV, then do a quick scan of the map and notice a single con at EVERY base within 2 sectors. And every base has it's ords porked. Now tell me.. Did 10 nits simultaneously decide to go pork ords to protect the CV ? Or is there a sense of teamwork or some sort of leadership and communication ?

Lmao at "jayro's strike missions". You mean convince some team mates to launch from a carrier, then hover 30k above said carrier, and then try and pick the cons chasing your team mates back to the CV, while Never leaving the CV's ACK range ? Those strike missions ?

When you change sides, your brain is automatically programed with the new personality traits of the chess piece you joined. This is done by way of special hypnotic / subliminal routine built into the AH executable! :old:
The subliminal programming routine is the real reason why the 12 hour rule cannot be changed. Too many subliminal sessions in a 24 hour period had detrimental effects on the test subjects's mental stability during Beta. :old:

Welcome to Knight land Naughty. You can't really draw a conclusion from one night with Knights. You're correct about the check 6s. We won't use you as bait, eh for the most part. I get plenty of those even for those 3k off my tail.
Working together is okay. Sometimes someone has to point out the obvious for knights to focus. For instance, Snailman pointed out that shouldn't we take back the base next to strats? LOL Many times someone ups and says, I'm taking bombers to 23, soon a bunch join in. Not a whole lot of missions but more than maybe just 2 years ago.
Knights will take bases mostly when there's not much fighting going on and would rather just fight.
Rooks, Bish, and Knights all have very good people and are fun to be around.
The one thing I've learned is you can't expect everyone to play the way you want or even when you want.

And naughty? Lighten up, Francis. It's a game. No one really dies. And all chess pieces are the same. And it happens just the same bish and knight, I've been both. Evreybody has good and bad days, good and bad players. Knights do have a tosh and a ghi, when you hear them you will realize it is the same everywhere and the fun is what you find in it. Except rooks. Filthy tree molesters.......... :D

You'll still be fighting some of your Knight adversaries over here. We've had a little exodus of tear filled departures for "greener" pastures. I can't say I blame though though. Fighting with the Knights gets monotonous at times. But never bad enough to join the Bishops. :neener:

So the Nits don't take bases ? they don't work together ? that was ONLY on Sunday nites ? well, I just logged for the nite, and The Nits had pushed the Bish all the way back to their rear. Ord strats at 0% as they been most of the nite. AAA at 6% and we were starting milk runs on their City as we took the closest base to it. I was in several Furballs and landed on average 3 kills per sortie, only getting shot down 3-4 times out of atleast 30 sorties. sooo I think my point is well proven. I was surprised to see the Bish porked a lot of our ords, wich slowed us down a little.

I really don't care much for furballing Junky, I prefer 1v1 and even 2v1s as im still learning ACM. and SA, But it was really fun tonite. Flying with you guys didn't really seem like a "Furball" The way everybody communicated and kept position made it less hectic ? I dunno, it just seemed more controlled. I knew I could force the Ki down, and you guys would be there to keep the 2 brews off me and vice versa. one time I pulled up hard after killing a K4, and seeing an f4u follow me up. I remember thinking "this aint gonna end well for him" and the next second I hear a boom and see flames behind me :lol

I've been saying it for ever, you cannot fight a horde. the only defence is to take away their ability to attack. (if their goal is take the field)

The fight on SFMA, which is the map all this was happening on, is very much shaped by the map and more importantly, the start bases setup. In short, the Northeastern country will almost always roll over the two other ones because of their respective starting bases A1 and 19, keeping them busy with each other.
Had the Bish been in that NE position, it's not entirely unlikely this story would have happened the opposite way.

You guys obviously don't get it, and are probably part of the lead flock.
The entire country was whining about being rolled and horded. So it wasn't me trying to get them to play "my game" it was them doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. Isn't that the definition of insanity? Me and a few others asked for help reapeatedly to stop the very thing they were all so upset about. But they chose to continue being vulched and crying about it.
I get so sick of hearing "it's their $15" news flash... They are paying to play a TEAM based game ! A game with a primary objective "winning the war" . What's the point of being on a a team if you do nothing to help the team ? All these people that "play their way" are usually the first ones complaining when their favorite spawn camp gets taken, or they lose the war.

You are correct to a degree.... but as was aptly pointed out earlier in this post:
there are many games we can play in aces high.

i.e. the game isn't just football.
....there is more to the game then the strategic war...and some are just not that interested in fighting for territory. Me? I usually am not, but occasionally will do something to help "win teh warz". :aok

This is the funniest post in a long time. :lol There is absolutely no difference in game play country to country. :rofl
Over it ! For the last few months this game has seemed to get worse and worse. I just wasn't having fun anymore. Tonite was the final straw for me. We (Bishops) won the map. I don't know how.. since lately trying to get 2 bishops to do something together is like herding cats. Anyway, the new map opens, and instantly the Nits and Rooks are ganging us. The thing is.. The Nits only have 3 bases on our front lines.. I call out repeatedly "Do not get stuck defending ! Pork their 3 fields and it will stop them in their tracks !" But the call goes unanswered, The bishops instead opt to keep upping from the same capped field, hoping to shoot one or two planes down before getting picked. and the Nits roll 4 bases in under an hour.
I give up, I switched to Nits, and right off the bat the game became FUN again ! for starters... Vox was busy, but it was tactical. People calling check six, communicating about what was going on, plans being made.. when the large group was capturing a field, others were already prepping the next. pretty much everybody was working together.
On Bish vox, you hardly EVER get a check six. and 90% of the vox traffic is players complaining about being horded, ho'd or picked.
Anyway... im over it. I'll be flying Nit for now on and looking forward to killing a few Bish that have been on my nerves for a long time ! like TOSH !

It's just certain behaviors I see over and over.. for example, I'm flying towards a huge red darbar, I look around and see I have plenty of "buddies" around. Next thing I know, I have tracers zipping by me. I think "how can this be ? all my team mates around and no check 6 ??" so I split S, and as I look down.. there's my answer.. 10 Bish diving on a single con 6k below :mad: or my favorite.. defending a town, and you look at the dar and see 20 green dots following 1 red dot AWAY from town, then poof, it's their field, and the ack shoots me down. :mad:
3 times tonite while flying Nit, a got into a sticky situation, only to look back and see a team mate come swooping in and clear my six. while flying Bish....mostly only your 12 gets cleared.
LOL you must be delusional Naughty, many many times I have had a long tail of red following me be it nits or rooks, they all play the same. Are you new, I see you only registered here in the forum in 2013? :old:

"oohhh the Bish horde" or " the Rooks are Alt monkeys". Are there daily meetings where each country plans their code of conduct that im unaware of ? are there country specific login messages that tell the players how to play for each country ?
C'mon guys, they are freaking chess piece icons. nothing more. All sides HORDE, All sides HO, All sides Climb for advantage. I've played for all 3 sides and heard the same complaints from each. Each chess piece is comprised of players from all over the world. from all different walks of life. no one side is guilty of any specific type of play.

The only diff between countries is that on sat and sun mornings the Rooks have some fairly crazy New Zealanders and Aussies on :aok

I used to love that little red church. :)
But I'm with lusche, I think there is no difference and the only hordes I complain about are green and all I do with that is go where the big red dar is, because invariably when one country is hording another is running a mission of similar size.
It's probably the family thing naughty. It's the same but when it's the same people over and over and over it wears on you. You switch countries to the same conditions but it is all fresh and new and you look at it with fresh and new eyes. And ears. :)

Once you cool off and can stay open minded, you will find that the same thing happens on Knights. If you move to Rooks, it will be no different. All sides are the same. It's refreshing to jump though. I know it kept the game interesting for me back when I played.

I've often thought about changing sides just so I can talk and joke with a few of the peeps that I've fought with for so long would be fun..however I've listened to some of the die hard bish ridicule and brow beat some of the guys that did just that..I had a rook friend that I've actually met come to bish side late one night just to talk to and fight along side with me and when they recognized his icon now in green he was accused of being a spy and was not well greeted..I would imagine I would get that same reaction if I changed sides both from the side I changed to as well as the bish I have flown with for so long..

One can almost picture the carotid artery pulsating on his already blood red neck. The fist pounding on the desk as his "expertise" goes unanswered, because no one else truly gives a rats posterior as they only play for fun.

I personally do believe there are subtle differences between the pieces...overall...the same things go on but there are differences...but mainly with conduct of individuals in a group....

You kid yourself if you think there is a fundamental difference between chess pieces. The real difference is which squadrons and a few dominant players play in your time. This also changes over the time of year and when squadrons rotate.
