Title: Sony hacked again.
Post by: Coalcat1 on December 26, 2014, 09:45:51 AM
Sony was Hacked again on Christmas Day, this time by a group of geek squad rejects, POed computer nerds, and the like known as Lizard Squad, or as I call em Lizardtards. This comes after most of the were arrested earlier this month after most of their identities were leaked. They still managed to hack Playsation network and X-Box live Christmas Day...     :furious :furious :furious

Sony needs to hire some good hackers because obviously their security team is not up to the task. Dump the Consoles and buy a Joystick losers.  :joystick:

There's nothing wrong with consoles! PC is hackerworldz. Then again I do like the ability to mod games.  :)

I don't play many console games, and when I do it's because I don't have time to play AH/HQ is down for 2 or 3 hours/I don't feel like flying any sim at the time.

There are some credible experts saying the hack is not from North Korea but instead inside job by Sony. Could this be the ultimate PR stunt associated with a movie release? The irony, a stupid comedy mocking North Korea then blaming North Korea to drum up business for a movie possible heading to DVD within weeks.

Who knows but we'll see. Fun to blame the Commies though, always!

I'm refering to the one that happened yesterday that took down online gameplay for Playstation and X-Box users that was pulled off by a few tards from around the world.

They were not hacked. They were DDOSed.

BOTH Microsoft's and Sony's servers were knocked out by something yesterday.

The Lizard Squad was doing DDOS attacks on both company's servers. Fish42 is correct, that's not hacking, it's more like a sit in blocking the entrance. Takes almost no effort to DDOS (other than having a program like LOIC and a few computers to run the program on) and no skill.

Those that are claiming it was nothing more than a publicity stunt by Sony for The Interview really don't know what they're talking about.  It is stupid for a company to purposely lose an almost estimated $500 million dollars+ just to increase interest in a Seth Rogen comedy.

That would be the dumbest PR stunt ever - the interview sucks and won't be recommended by most people who have seen it.

I seriously doubt it as there was data loss, indicating it was far more than a DDoS.

I'd love to know what kind of security platform Sony were using (or thought they had).

You doubt there was any "data" loss?  How about the 5 movies that were stolen and then released on the Internet to be pirated?  The Fury, Annie and 3 other movies from Sony yet to be released.  There was also the private information hundreds of regular Sony employees that was stolen.

The first incident involving The Interview was hacking.  Shutting down PlayStation on Christmas day was DDoS.  Two different incidents being discussed in this thread.

From my experience, anything related to EA is bound to suckage.  :rofl
