I would like to see HC pick out the six most asked for planes and let the people vote on one like they did in the past.
-
p63 or another japanese fighters are the only acceptable choices.
-
p63 or another japanese fighters are the only acceptable choices.
P63 would be a perked ride that saw actions something between almost nil to absolutely nothing. It is a valid request and a plane that will see use in the arenas, but it is worthless to events and scenarios and should be placed low on the priority list IMO.
One word, two engines, four cannons, five years in WWII, and 6000 produced:
Beaufighter!
-
LOL better perk la7 and spit16 if ur gonna perk the p63
-

After the Beaufighter and Lagg-3, obviously.
-
Why would the P-63 be perked? It's pretty much the american spit16/la7/109k4.
-

Per Widewing's posts it is faster on the deck than the La-7 while turning like an FM2 and climbing better than the Spit XIV/XVI/Bf109K-4.
-
:headscratch: I thought that was the F8F.
Remember it did have that awful Oldsmobile.
-
Rate of Climb was only 2,500  :headscratch:
-
After the Beaufighter and Lagg-3, obviously.
And the TBD, and SB2C, and Ki-45, and Ki-100, and Ki-27, and A5M, and B6N, and D4Y, and...
The P-63 belongs at about the absolute BOTTOM of the priority list.
-
That sounds about right when its at Alt. P63 was a real monster on the deck but performance dropped of once it got higher.
P-63 would be a nice addition for MA use, but It would probably only make me fly the p-39 more :t
-
i just want it so i can chase down all the noob la7 p51 deck runners who never want to meet there death by p39! :t :t
-
I wish we had the p51B/C with the Birdcage canopy. Heavy frames and poor visibility FTW!
-
1. Send a list via email and vote.
or
2. When people log for the first time on for example during the month of March, people will get a pop-up with list of possible aircraft and GV and simply vote and submit.
I do have two requests.
1. Me 262 with 50mm version
(http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8143/7662322150_c604377b30_z.jpg)
2. A-26 Invader (Maybe the most deserving- It was a brute in Air Warrior)

One more I just thought of to make more interesting and a salute for those who were in it.
B-25B (Doolittle Raid version) and allowed to take off the carrier.

We already have the B-25C. What we need is the B-25J

The B-25B used by the Doolittle Raiders were specially modified for that particular mission and were not regular production models.
-
I love seeing new planes too, but I'd much rather have them update the cockpits and damage model of the old, old, old planes like the A-20G/Boston III, the F4F/FM2, the Ki.61, the TBF, Tempest, etc.
The new cockpit artwork is fantastic - the Yaks metal canopy rails are just brilliant work and nicely realistic. Would like to see those old plane models get lots of love from HTC.
And I agree on the P-51B - bring on a birdcage model!

I know. Lets have it. :aok More carrier possibilities. Let that version be an option.

I understand people really want the late war monsters armed with cannons but history has shown that the people who voted them in are the same people who whine about it's uberness only a short time later.
For that reason, I would like to see some more early war birds like..................
1. Mig3..........bad handling and undergunned but it has speed and apparent quirks that a skillful pilot can turn into advantage.
I like that challenge and what's not to like about 400mph in 1941?
From Wiki......
Even with the MiG-3's limitations, Aleksandr Pokryshkin, the third-leading Soviet, and Allied, ace of the war, with 53 official air victories (plus six shared), recorded a number of those victories while flying a MiG-3 at the beginning of the war.[24] He later recalled:
“Its designers rarely succeeded in matching both the fighter's flight characteristics with its firepower… the operational advantage of the MiG-3 seemed to be obscured by its certain defects. However, these advantages could undoubtedly be exploited by a pilot able to discover them”.
2. Beaufighter.............a truck.........a truck that carries 4x20mm with six 303s, can carry torpedos and bombs.
A lot of A20 pilots would gladly include beaufighter sorties in thier missions if brought in.
3. Ki44...........another plane that is misunderstood because most of the pilots who flew them got out of much more maneuverable planes and loudly complained about it's handling.
Still, it's only "less maneuverable" than the best of the japanese planes meaning it's still likely to turn better than many Allied rides.
4. D520..........considered weak in all areas but a good pilot can be dangerous in one.
5. More variants of the JU88 model range........some had more utility, others had more speed, and even others had a lot of firepower.
Others can be used to fill out the early war planeset to make events more interesting.

I wonder if there were any Mid War planes that saw action in WW2, but didn't make the cut into AH?

NVM. Found out. I'll post it in a few.

CAC boomerang
TBD
J2M raiden
whatever version of the F6F that had the small rearward windows on the canopy
B17F, because she is so purdy
Beaufighter
and although not a plane it would be awesome to get more ord/loadout options for the SD.Kfz. 251

there was a time where we could take the B25C and P39D off from carriers. But that was a long time ago.

Only because an arena setting wasn't set.
-
The only useful thing I ever remember the P-63 doing was ground attack with the Reds. The LA7 was faster, lighter, and its hard to imagine better ATA armament then 3 ShVAK 20's.
I'd love to see the A-26. Preferably after the Beau and the PE-2.
Vehicle-wise we need the SU-100. I think it, and the A-26, would bring the most excitement to the game.
-
p63s 37mm is far better at a2a then the TWO cannons the la7 used
-

The ShVAK 20 mm was a far better cannon than the Oldsmobile cannon on the P-63, it was the same POS cannon used on the P-39.
-
P-38H
Why ?
Because I want it :old: . . . . . . and it would round out the P38 stable.

What he said ^
We appear to be the only game in town that doesn't offer the birdcage canopy pony. I have nothing against the malcolm hood, but why wouldn't you have the birdcage as well?
Along with the birdcage bravo, it would be nice to get the A-36A and P-51A. Some Allision powered Mustang variants would be a good thing.
Ki-27 Nate - over 3,000 produced; backbone of the IJAA early in the war
Ki-44 Tojo - another high production run aircraft. Successor to the Ki-43 Oscar
Beaufighter - served in every theatre; need I say more?
C.200 Arrow - Early war Italian monoplane; same generation as the Hurri I
G-55 Centaur - Along with the C.202 the next generation of mid war Italian aircraft
F6F-3 Wildcat - The USN frontline fighter when the war started. No folding wings so no wing hinges and several hundred pounds lighter than the -4 Wildcat.

If memory serves, our 51B originally had the framed canopy. People wanted the Malcolm Hood version so much that, at some point, they switched canopies.

But now it has 52 rounds :x

Pokryshkin preferred the 37mms, however I don't know if they kept the Oldsmobile in the p39 or replaced it with one of their own 37mm cannons.

The J2M would look so fine in AH...

Weren't they used to intercept B-29s, along with the Ki.61?

Yes, but you are mistaking the KI-100 for the Ki61. IIRC, they had a vey similar airframe.

Yep, TheP-51B got the malcolm hood when the P-51s got updated.

Yep, TheP-51B got the malcolm hood when the P-51s got updated.
Interesting; If the birdcage was such a problem to flying the plane effectively, why not just move up to the pony delta and get the full bubble canopy and the uber 6x.50 gunpackage?
When the Malcolm hood was introduced into the game, why wasn't the birdcage retained as an option? After all it had already been modeled, was a factory design and was what the majority of front line aircraft used.
-
I don't think it was a problem, It was just wanted and wished for by the community.
When the P-51s got updated they received all new 3D models, I would guess that HTC decided to go with the hood rather than the bird-cage.
