I'm at least proud to admit I never fell for alt+f4 :P
I was mission with a decent number of heavy ponies that had just lifted for a strike on an enemy base. By the time we climbed to about 10k the group was not in as tight of a formation as we were when we lifted. A newb squeeked out on range asking how to make his plane faster to catch up to the leaders. I responded "Turn on WEP", to which he replied, "How do I do that?", to which I answered, "Press enter 3 times quickly". Shortly after a loaded p51 was falling to earth and there was quite a ruckus of laughter on range channel.
Was it mean? yes. Would I do it again given the opportunity? you bet your sweet cheeks, it was hilarious!
I thanked the check six voice for almost a week.

In my first few sorties ever I had no idea that friendlies on the same channel as you would have a different colored icon. I thought they were enemies so I killshot myself on them for the first 10 or so sorties before I realized they weren't enemy! :o
Crabby said to join a mission type .country 1 into chat so i did and was sent to the bish......... :o, also saw a CV off of our base upped a b5n2 and tried to launch torpedoes after torpedoes none of them hit so i upped an SBD and dive bombed it several times finally someone asked me what i was doing and i said "trying to sink the ship" he replied " Its ours you idiot :o :o". I have plenty more to share...
I used to think different skins gave the plane different capabilities over others... Lol I also still think that. :noid

Agreed. Italian 109 skins have more accurate tatorsno way :)
What? You must have noticed how flying the pink-skinned spitfires makes you more manly instead of shriveling up?the bare metal spit is the best. It's naked

I played with my stall limiter on for 5 years lmao never even knew there was something you could check and uncheck, once I realized my stupidity I changed it.
My first time in the ma was confusing..
Someone recruited me from the TA and persuaded me to come to the MA and up from a field..
I tried to do this repeatedly but kept blowing up on the runway..
I got vulched 8 to 10 times before I realised what was going on..
I had got conned into coming from TA as raw vulch bait..
Lol..
It was all still very confusing for a good while...
I never knew what all the different things at the bases where..just shoot at everything thinking I was helping lol
I remember hearing over range that if you wanted the green cross for aim assistance like in the TA all you needed to do was alt f4. ..boom to windows I went..lol...suckered!
You can forget quite quickly how bewildering the ma is when you first arrive..
<S> to all us noobs that stick it out

Lmao, as a 14 yo new to online gaming on the computer. I too fell for the atl F4 trick.
the only thing that comes to mind for me...is in DA no one uses 200....for a very long time I thought everyone in DA was salamanders and just didn't want to talk to me.... :rofl :rofl :rofl
had no clue about channel 1 :o
Been playing almost 2 years on amd off just learned about channel 1 :noid
I once joined bish when I was new. Can it get any worse than that? :devilNah, it can. Have you tried spawning while your runway's being strafed? I can vouch for that being one very good reason why you should always head to a closer base when there's vulching goin' down.
People would say "dont fire until you are 300 out". Heck I could never get within 1k of them when I started!
Also, I thought the LA was a terrible plane because it did not have as many rounds of ammo as say a P-47. In those early days I'd start firing at 1k as that was "close range" for me. More ammo meant a better chance.
bringing supps to a town instead of troops. and my most famous was getting up in bombers and falling asleep on autopilot waking up hours later and wondering where i was (off the map ) so i bail
I still play like that. Press trigger, close eyes, hope for the best.
Reading through these doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling for the future of this world if you guys are our future generation that is. :O

Diving into furballs blowing all my E and getting ganged .......... :bhead
I thanked the check six voice for almost a week.
the best Check 6 one was the time some new guy Im guessing a kid of maybe his late teens was flying and all of a sudden a few of us hear him say "Oh no. Not you again"
When asked who he meant he stated
"This guy with a really deep voice keeps following me around saying "check 6, check 6""
Having come over from AW since the days it was on AOL I really didnt have and dumb noob things in AH.
AW was another story. There. Just like many I fell for the insta log trick when asking how to do something.
But my favorite was on my first day I upped in a 109. Immediately I saw a pair of 38's and shot them down. All proud of myself I was thinking how I was going ot tear this game up. I proceeded on and found a B-17 and started shooting at it. When suddenly across the text buffer I saw "qg123. why are you shooting at me?"
It was then I got that sick feeling as I realized that I had been shooting down and at players on my own side
I fell for the rope do often it wasn't even funny - AH1 though. In WBs I tried to outturn a zero in FW many times before I finally figured out it just won't work
I fell for the Ole "come have fun killing crabby at the crab boil " trick..a cruel invitation sent by crabby and Latrobe to lure there tasty prey in with the promise of free seafood..but the only thing they served was a rusty old can of whoop @%#$! ..luckily I wised up and only returned about 4 more times :neener: :bhead :devil
LMAO yup it was hilarious you and crabby's biggest threat was each other and crashing from laughing so hard hehe
We made it as fair as we could, us 2 vs 15 of you guys sounds like good odds :) . Actually that's incorrect. It wasn't 2v15, it's more like 1v1v15 as I try to steal all of Crabby's kills and he tries to steal mine :devil
Then there was that time about 2mo ago when I lost 432 bomber perks in 45sec upping a set of b29s on auto take off. ..who knew those things were so heavy. .stupid trees just off the runway pfffffft :bhead don't go AFK!!awwww you can afford to lose some bomber perks , i gave away total about 2500 just cause i got older :bhead :bhead :bhead :bhead :bhead
awwww you can afford to lose some bomber perks , i gave away total about 2500 just cause i got older :bhead :bhead :bhead :bhead :bheadLOL MIKEY. .I left my damn laptop at home :bhead 10 days withdrawal symptoms growing lol but I'm having gf bring it to me tonight. She not happy says I act like I miss AH more than her :bolt:
LOL MIKEY. .I left my damn laptop at home :bhead 10 days withdrawal symptoms growing lol but I'm having gf bring it to me tonight. She not happy says I act like I miss AH more than her :bolt:Just give her a good pounding..if you know what i mean, she will totally forget about aces high.
I really liked how WB displayed kills immediately in the buffer. So if you taunted someone on open channel, people could see which one lived up to his words lol. It also enabled you to hunt certain players when you saw them kill your friends.
That's right! I forgot about the live buffer - that was awesome. I wished we had that here.
It would especially work for the large egos that carry around several kills and get shot down

Just give her a good pounding..if you know what i mean, she will totally forget about aces high.LOL I'll make it the best 2.5 min of her life :aok :rofl
I used to fly low over friendly airfields and if I saw a plane landing or taking off, I would position myself behind them. I would simultaneously give them a "Check Six" and fire a burst of tracers over their canopy. About half the time, they would turn so hard they would just spin into the ground. It would make me laugh for 5 minutes.nice. .so if that person had kills and wanted to land them or wanted to re arm and you caused them to spin out off runway they would crash or ditch or might get lucky and stop on runway. ..impressive :bolt: hope it wasn't a perk plane

The old "spray and pray" tactic never fails :DUnfortunately it does, as I can testify. My super leet, patented and trademarked "5 Point Spray Exploding Plane Technique" (apologies to Tarantino fans), where I spray rounds at my target, hit 5 random places, collide, then explode, is testament to spray and pray having some shortcomings.
This is why everyone should come back with friends for REVENGE!
If I gets internetz back we'll be firing up Operation Kill The Crab again :devil
I am too scared too be firing up Operation Kill The Crab again :uhoh
