ok no real topic here except a bit of a rage post at the guy that for a few days straight now, parks right up to the edge of your driveway making for a pain in the arse egressing and ingressing out of your driveway... man it pisses me off but i can't call it in cuz he's edged up just as ghey and flush as god made him/her.... It shouldn't bother me right? But it does cuz it makes you have to do a half u-turn to get into the driveway from that side, and just makes for more dangerous driving...

leave a pile of horse or cow pucky in the place where the wheels of the offending car sit or better still wet paint

Put a sprinker by your driveway and turn it on at full force right before they go to get in their car.
-
thats going to far, what i have done to good effect in the past was leave a note on the windshield asking them to back off a bit in order for safety, that seemed to work for one vehicle... i may have to note this one as well...
-
at the risk of sounding Canadian... Have you spoken with the offending person? No other place for the alleged perpetrator to park?
If that fails, cover the front of the vehicle in maple syrup.... :devil
-
Drain the oil out of his car and put pour sand into it :old:

How about just knocking on his door and asking him not to?
Or better yet call 911 and tie up an emergency line and a squad cause you dont want to do what Humans have been doing for millions of years and "talking" to your neighbor?

ARE YOU NUTS! THATS INSANE!

I say leave him a note asking that he back up just a bit so you can use your driveway safely. Also leave him some baked cookies as a peace offering, no one can refuse cookies. :aok

Did the OP just ask a question and then give himself some advice? :uhoh

That's called rhetoric, just taken one step further.

I once left a note on a car that read: This parking space is available for rent, enquire with the owner at No.27. Please enjoy your free trial.

See Rule #6
-
Steal a traffic cone from somewhere and put it in the way when he's not there.
-
problem is i don't know who the birdbrain is thats doin it, and dont give me that crap about tying up a car, its what they're there for not posting on the forums..
-
Just thread a small screw into the tire treads, say front left and rear right.
If that still doesnt give the message then continue with screws until he finds a better place to park. If he asks about the punctures, just tell him you had the roof done last year and you're always getting flats! :devil
:salute

Has he every right to be there?
Is it a very packed street?
This day and age a bit of give and take is a good thing..
You never know he might lend you his lawn mower when yours breaks down..
Build bridges not walls..
Have a chat with him..
He might turn out to be a WW2 enthusiast...tell him about Aces high and he might even become a squaddie..
All it takes is communication

I absolutely agree
it is easier said then done..........very difficult to deal with morons....and that old saying "common sense" should be changed to "extremely rare sense"
but I do think what you wrote is great. :salute

It's true... easier said than done
There are a lot more ons about...to be sure
But it's worth starting with good intentions. .
Good luck
-
I'd go the polite route first with your reasons as to why it'd be neighborly to oblige.
If that fails; wait til he's an inch or two blocking your drive and have him ticketed if possible...
good luck

I see a lot of people here post with the idea of some type of vandalism, really guys?
Whatever happened to just walking next door knocking on the door and introduce yourself then explain to him what the problem is man to man. I honestly don't think people really know how to communicate anymore.

The OP needs to give these guys a call....

Had the 'pleasure' of taking a friend to retrieve her car from these striped-arse baboons...to bad not near you...

many years ago, but $200 in 1975 was real by-god money...

I always take the high road in these situations, ask nicely. You might find a new friend.
Unfortunately, a rude response from the offender sometimes opens the door for what I wanted to do in the first place.... Like mowing the grass when wet and plastering his car with wet grass clippings.
Stay away from vandalism. An "ooops" moment like the example above is better for all.
-
i left a note on the car since i didn't know who it was, wasn't a packed street, and he was encroached into the driveway area (albeit by only a couple of inches), i hope he read it and is polite about it since i was... sucks i really wanted to go the sledgehammer route too.. :O

I once had problems with neighbours and parking places. I solved them by getting my own house and my own driveway. Ha! I showed them.
-
I had a friend with this issue, he um, took some umm 'liberties' - or should I say "a liberty" on their windscreen.
-
The problem with revenge actions is that once you get caught doing that stuff, you're the one in court, not him. Better to take it through private discussion and if that doesn't help, seek communal help. Many times the parking lots are privately owned so the owner can basically order him to move his car.
-
I don't know about the rules there, but here the law clearly says that parking near a driveway to a property or house has to be done in a manner that driving to and from said property doesn't significantly become more difficult. Basically that means that the bumper shouldn't exceed the lineage of the driveway, allowing a 90 degrees turn. Also there should be left enough space for a bigger vehicle like a firetruck to drive to said driveway.
So is the guy blocking your driveway, thus endangering your and yours life in case of emergency or only causing you to turn the steering wheel more than you'd like? In the former case it's a police issue, in the latter, well...

see that's the problem, people are not able to knock and ask politely not to do something.
I have 2 parking spaces for my apartment but only 1 car. so I noticed somebody was using my extra parking space for a few weeks. I didnt need it so I didnt care. then my kids came to visit for spring break, so I went and knocked on the door and explain the situation and just let her know that my kids would be using my parking space for a few days but she was more than welcome to use it after than.
it was a win-win situation for me. she moved her truck and I got to see her with no bra on and an almost see thru blouse    .

Just admit it, the only reason why you went on knocking was because it was a hot chick. Had it been a dude you'd be slashing the tires as we speak

WAIT!!! Did you just say that? Is this latrobe??...LMAO....I say put two cones where your driveway opening is, one at each end. That way you can avoid speaking to them if you don't want to. Atleast the cones will be on ur property.

well it depends if there's a sidewalk, you dont own that, it belongs to the city even though you are required to maintain it.
and the cones can easily be moved. basically do the right thing and go up and ask politely. I would.
