:airplane: OK, I will admit it, this is a "whine" post! Last night we had a base ready for capture and 4 straight times, from 3 different bases, someone came straight to our goon and killed it. Now, come on guys, this is just a fun game, but it is only fun when everyone plays within the rules!
I can understand now why some of our players get disgusted and quit the game! I don't blame Aces High for this type of conduct, because they can't do anything to stop it! It just comes with in someone to be honest and play by the rules, to ever stop this BS!

If your goon pilots are heading straight to target, then it really isn't all the surprising that they were intercepted. When I do any goon hunting, that is the first thing I do after checking the immediate area. I'll fly directly to their base or nearest base. The last time I goon hunted, I nearly flew into one as we both popped over a ridge line. I almost wee'd myself, and I spooked the dog when I yelled. lol
Ideally, you want to have multiple goons coming in from different angles at the same time. :aok

Recommend remedial escort training for goon escort pilots.
Wiley.

Turn the film into Skuzzy.
However, I can tell you it is easy to find the goon that accompanies a mission.

I agree with Vol and Del, very easy to find a goon ib to a field........

Goons have very big, very distinguishable silhouettes :old:

There's a reason why the Allied air forces destroyed the Luftwaffe in France before sending goons over the channel...

Goons can be seen for long distances.
For example this one:
I was looking for that goon as the Vbase had been freshly deacked by a well known basetaking squad, but was still flashing. I was circling the base area lookign for it, mostly suspecting it in a specific direction because of the local conditions (position of other friendly bases/working dars.
And there it was, landed and waiting for a clear sky:

I was well beyond 6k out when I spotted the goon. Of course I turned into it, closed in and shot.
Result?
"You came straight at me!" (Followed by the usual crap of cheat/shade/hack accusations)
Of course I did. That's what you do when you want to shoot at the enemy

I watch a constant repeat of the following scenario.
1. - Town flag goes white.
2. - One fighter hanger is left up for vulching.
3. - A few enemy fighters are tying up the attackers just off the field who all want those easy kills.
4. - An La or K4 or Yak3 leaves the field between the blades of grass heading in the logical direction for a goon.
5. - No one wants to give up their perch over the other end of the field waiting for the easy kills.
6. - Call comes in the goon is down. I've seen 4 goons go down from the same La before he was engaged by anyone.
I watch players let that one in the grass slip away because he is a little bit too far away to bother with. If you really want to take that field and M3 are not an option. Kill all the fighter hangers before calling in the goon. Otherwise enjoy the furballing and vulching.

I killed a goon that was parked on a island next to a port. He harassed PMed calling me a cheater for coming straight at him. How do you explain that a black dot ON A BEACH can be seen from miles away :ahand
-
Because you are skilled at looking at really big things far away due to driving such large jugs all the time.

I killed 7 in 1 sortie doing just this, ( I mean word for word what you wrote) and the vultures never stopped what they were doing to help the goons. Even the cons lifting from their field to the base being taken only wanted to grab alt and not come down to help. I only RTB'd when a countryman showed up to relieve me of my duties (he killed 2 more) by that time the take was over as town was resupplied and blue flagged. Given the PMs I got I'm fairly certain if I was running for elected office I wouldn't have had their votes. Good times....good times :D

I remember back in the day a mission with 20+ goons and only a few fighters as escorts. The strategy was to overwhelm the based with big, fat, juicy good-targets. Sadly, not one made it to the beach. It was quite the sight.

was this last week? I remember the guy getting yelled at for parking the goon instead of staying away from the town.

This game (or those hwo plays it) is very predictable. So anyone that takes his time to analyze can become good at predict what is going to happen. A good rule when flying goons is that once u are inside the dar ring u can be spotted by cons over base/ town. Do not fly straight in and dont land closer than 8-10 miles from the town.

lol, Was inbound with troops one night. All enemy cons were high and engaged with other fighters. I thought I had a clear shot to drop troops, until I met an enemy Goon that
had just resupplied the base. He came right at me head-on (going for the ram). That was so much fun turning and burning against another C-47.
Sadly, I did not accomplish my mission.

The obvious target, is obvious.
The predictable approach lanes, are predictable.
The low, black, big dots are low, black and big.
The hysterical accusations, are hysterical.
