Auto updated no problems.

FW190D9 still missing turn coordinating ball under gunsight.

On arena exit clipboard showing arenas is smaller, quitting to first clipboard menu restores size.

My download stopped with 1% remaining and was stuck for over an hour before I closed it out.  It was during download.  Never got to install.

I just uninstalled the Alpha based Beta a couple of hours ago...

The game started fine, but when I answered "yes" to if I'd like to get the new version Windows announced that the program hadn't worked as should. The same happened with the previous update, too. However the update itself ran flawlessly. Apparently Windows (7) doesn't like the way the update shuts the main program down.

I still would like to see a little more separation between the airplane and the icon. I have tried a different range of settings, none are satisfactory. Thank you.
I have a 24" monitor and there is no problem with this on AH II.

I agree, I just keep forgetting to do it. I also don't like how the icons look, but is not a simple  issue to fix.

updated and installed fine, have one question...should a Spit 8 be able to easily kill a Panzer or a Wirble? They sure do...and by easy i mean on e quick pass....

On Crater map in melee arena, the lighting takes on a green tint with the sun low in the sky.   The sun is still 1/4 of the way up, but the light seems dark and definitely green.   Flying through the clouds, it is green too.   Picture attached below.


Still the sound issue in the cockpit.   This time in the D11.   The back view makes the engine sound the loudest.  Louder than front view or any other.   The back/left and back/right views are similar to front view volume.   Holding the up view adds a weird vibration sound as well.   

Using the hat switch: move to left (or right) view and back to center changes the sound level, when it shouldn't change at all.   Doing this multiple times, like you would in a dogfight, will get very annoying.   It is like covering and uncovering your ears when you are being nagged, the volume keeps changing.

There seems to be no sound of the 16" guns loading. Other guns are ok.

Also the tank guns and some of the ships large guns fire a red smoke cloud. This is only seen in tanks if you are not in the gun position. Of course if you are going to fire the tank main gun, you would be inside looking at he target.

4096 mode, vsync off for testing. GTX 760 2G, max FPS registered on NDilses offline 100FPS.

Offline NDisles.

Testing for FPS starting at A1 in a Yak3, flying to A22 auto level.

1. - Spawn NE, sitting runway 33FPS.
2. - Climb to 5k NE, at 2k FPS moves to 45FPS and holds to 5k.
3. - Turn for A22 auto level starting at 5k, FPS holds 45 dipping to 33 when looking at A1.
4. - Halfway mark to V2 FPS jumps to 75 then changes based on view direction and zoom 54-75. I reduced alt to 3k over A2.
5. - 3k level flight the rest of the way to A22, FPS moves up to 58-100 depending on direction of view or zoom.
6. - When close enough for drones to shift over A22, FPS drops to 45 and dips to 33 while over A22.
7. - Once past A22 at the shore line, forward 180 view arch FPS 55-75. Rearward 180 view arch FPS 33-45.

How many "New" to the beta players are testing from A1 at NDilses offline and getting proportional results like this based on the strength of their graphics card. Then exiting and coming into this forum upset might be a question. Had the same problem proportionally with my 6770 with A1 on most of the NDieles version for some time. 22-32 FPS was the norm with my 6770 in 1024 mode unless I disabled post processing. Once you move away from the large airfields over the water or an island with a single small of medium field, FPS goes up.

Updated fine. 

From the Department of "What Does it Matter?": ammo bunker AMB001 at vehicle fields (CraterMA online) is not hittable or destroyable by shells.  All the rest are, as are all at other types of fields.

From the "Only Slightly More Important" Department:  I still have the problem of sounds disappearing and reappearing, such as the tank track sound or the foliage crushing sound.

I also saw the green tint to the sky and clouds at a certain time in the morning.

Question:

Can gv's go through shallow water?

I tried to cross a couple rivers that appeared to be shallow and got stuck. I drove along the edge of the river and used the bridge to get across instead.  That is so cool.   :D 

Bridges are going to make great choke points for fun battles. I was in the mission arena at the time.

Again with engine sounds.  110G2 started engines no sound....went to change volume didn't work until I throttled up.

Seems for me engine sounds when I fly certain aircraft have none until I adjust volume or throttle up

I might add that I am using Sennheiser USB head phones I've used for years.  Of course it's USB sound that I've not had problems with anywhere else.

Repeated the test on NDilse but changed my resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720.

Sitting on the runway at A1 57-60. And the gunsight mask is light enough to see through and shoot without zoom. Shadows a little blocky and don't hold steady. Not as crisp graphics as native mode for the 24 inch monitor. But got those FPS back at the large airfields on TT.

Upped a jeep from V103 in mele

South spawn to V108

Shot down Fi Storch

Shot down M8 (surprised by that!   :devil )

Drove down hill onto base and auto ack engaged me.

Auto ack killed me.

In tower - sound of auto ack pinging me was continued.

Upped multiple times, sound continued to run.  Quit game, sound followed me out of arena and didn't stop until I closed the program.

Also noticed when I climbed a hill overlooking the base (close) I would get appearances from time to time of being in the hill and seeing the water behind the hill I shouldn't see until on top.  Came to a stop and was on the hill.

All I have seen so far.

Flew around and died by Dolby's hands.  Amazing work!  Hats off to y'all!!!

Reflections seem to keep enabling every time I move from one location to another. Example I will turn them off and got to hanger when I go back to tower I can see reflections again, but they are still disabled in the settings. I have to enable then disable to get them to go away.

Online CraterMA.  Been getting double kills on people who CTD.  Example: fired single shot from 18lber at an attacking M4.  He started his engine and CTD.  I was immediately awarded two kills at once.

Would still like to see a little work on the shadows. I tested it at 1024 and 4096 res and both show a lot of shadow flicker when looking at trees when flying the flicker at times borders on strobing.....shadows from the sun flicker and look blocky in the cockpit....Shadows created by the windows in the hanger look blocky.  edges like ^^^^^^^^^ instead of smooth curves or smooth straight lines. Terrain could use some mounds or maybe some big rocks.

Hey I pushed buttons and nothing went boom for weeks until I missed shooting at the tank I placed up on that battery over looing the TT spawn. Shocked the heck outta me when it went poofh!! Because it was the first time I missed that tank......spectacular little explosion........ :O

I need them to be their in game hardness for anyone practicing shelling them.

Updated with no problems and very quickly.

 Checked missions area and was cool to see the listing of when each mission would kickoff.

 Joined a B17 mission in progress without my gear plugged in and was flying with a mouse.  Flew, dropped bombs in the middle of the night and then bailed. Limited time this morning but more testing later.

Updated with no problems.

Both this release and Beta 1 will not quit out of the game - cursor freezes and Tower remains on screen. Only way out is to CTL-ALT-DEL at which point Win 10 says Ahbeta has a problem and will not close. Click on Cancel and all OK to start again but same result each time.

Shadows still very flickery but that might be down to me not fully understanding what settings to use. Frame rate between 55-60 pretty much all over.

When zoom is enabled the up view no longer looks up. By itself it's an over the nose view and it no longer combines with the other views. Look down also stops working when zoom is enabled.

External aircraft sounds start and end abruptly instead of fading.

Does this happen every time?  If so, please give me detailed, step-by-step what you are doing.  We cannot figure out how to duplicate this, and until we do, we cannot fix it.

Are you running the game at a different resolution than the native resolution of the monitor?
Do you have multiple monitors?
Are you using a Matrox Triplehead?
If you have multiple monitors, how are they configured to be used by Windows?

Skuzzy when it happens to me it's because the AH window isn't full size when I start AH. If I set it to full size first the clipboard is ok on exit.

None of us here run with a full size window, yet none of use have ever seen this phenomenon.  Only a few people are having this issue.  There has to be a common denominator between the folks having this issue.  We are trying to figure it out.

The clipboard issue happens to me every time.

I have two monitors, they are not the same size but are at the same resolution.  1920 x 1080
I run the game on the larger monitor the desktop is spanned across both my monitors.
The game video settings are also set to 1920 x1080

when launching the game the clipboard is totally readable about 1/4 total width of the window it lives in
Click Offline Practice

The game begins and becomes full screen, and the clipboard remains the same relative size to itself but it now is about 1/6th the width of the screen because the game is full screen and not just a window.
Exit the game and the clipboard is nowabout 1/6th of the WINDOW that it now lives in(it has shrunk) which makes it small and unreadable..

So that's kind of what I"m seeing and what my setup is. Let me know if there's any other info I can give to help.

Do you have multiple monitors? YES
Are you using a Matrox Triplehead? NO
If you have multiple monitors, how are they configured to be used by Windows? split desktop

I have this same setup but with 1680x1050 res and im having the same problem. I also use TrackIR.

I have the same clipboard problem on both PCs running the beta.

Clipboard is very small when quitting out of the online game and returning to arena select menu. When quitting out of arena select menu clipboard returns to original size for start menu.

#1 - Single monitor native 1080p running desktop at 1080p. Beta running at 1080p.

I was crusing in my Panther Tank and hit a very small limb which flipped me over, No problem, it happens all the time. The tank, on it's back kept moving along at normal speed and I was on flat ground.

Does this mean not the native resolution for the monitor or, you are running the game in windowed mode for ease of accessing the desktop?

My current graphics card is a GTX 760 2G, 4096 mode. 24 inch monitor 1920x1080.

I did a test yesterday on NDisles first in native monitor mode 1920x1080, then in 1280x720. Over the Large airfields A1 and A22 starting on the ground my FPS was 30 raising into the 40's once in the air. A few miles out from A1, FPS went up to the normal 58-60. When I was a few miles out from A22 and the drones just shifted in over the field, FPS dropped into the 40s. Repeated this at the lower resolution and the spawned FPS was 50's. Once in the air 58-60 until reaching A22 at the drone shift in range.

There is no adjustability to the AA setting, only on/off in the graphics tab in game.   AH2 has four AA settings to choose from in the splash screen before logging in.

What exactly, does the AA setting in AH3 do?   Should I set AA on my video card?   Does the in-game setting override that or compliment it somehow?



Some of the check boxes on the clipboard offer no explanation at all when you move the cursor over them.

Having a weird reflection with clouds. It only occurs when there are clouds. The reflection is a duplicate of whatever is on my screen.

Here is another screenshot. The closer i get to the cloud, the bigger the reflection gets. I uncheck Lens flare, it turns to a solid gray/black box. When re-enabling lens flar, the image goes back. If i fly into the image, it will disapear and reappear further away. Once i flew into a message popped up on the message bar saying "could not load = 8876086C".

I logged into the melee arena briefly last night with the sun on the horizon. The weather system was running far too fast with clouds whizzing across the sky. Also they looked a bit odd, glowing bright yellow-green. I'd have thought looking into the sun as in this screenshot they ought to be silhouetted and dark, or just lit on the sunward side.

One other cloud related issue is that engine oil smoke and flak is always sorted behind clouds, even if the clouds are a long way away.

Set it to 80 but you won't like the vertical. What you're trying to get rid of is normal perspective. All you can do is set the FOV to your preference. It cannot be both wide and have a narrow aspect.

It does for me.  However, there is a bug: if you have the channel tuned from a prior login it will not be tuned to that channel on a subsequent login despite the proper number being in the V box.  You have to actually re-enter that same number again into the Voice box and then it works.

We had this problem in the AvA (kesserine) arena Thursday night. Most of us already had vox V set for channel 223 but it wasn't working.

The game isn't picking up the channel number even though the previously set channel number still shows.

The work-around we discovered was to retype the cross country .radio 5 [channel number] into the text buffer.

But I also ran a test & went into my AMD vid card drivers and set the Anisotropic Filtering setting to override the application setting (left all others set to default) then set the level to 16x (max) then went back into Beta2 & went up in my Spitty Mk IX & flew around and noticed that the shadow jaggies were significantly reduced on a whole....not gone but far, far less blocky on the edges w\ AF enabled than w\o AF enabled.

I still saw the aforementioned issue where the shadow jaggies cleared out once the shadow crossed the Hispano gun humps towards the cockpit on both wings but the difference was vastly reduced w/ AF enabled than w/o AF enabled.

Using AMD Radeon Settings w\ Crimson 16.1 Hotfix drivers.........

None of us here run with a full size window, yet none of use have ever seen this phenomenon.  Only a few people are having this issue.  There has to be a common denominator between the folks having this issue.  We are trying to figure it out.

I am running three monitors (Asus VG248QE - Generic PNP MS Drivers) from an Nvidia GTX980sc.  Resolution is set at 5760 x 1080.  Refresh set at 144hz.  My FOV is currently set at 145.

I've always had the 'clipboard size problem'.  Happy to work with any changes you recommend.

Sounds a lot like an issue we saw where we'd have two pilots in an aircraft (in a fighter) and the pilot would bail and crash to desktop, the joined person would not crash to desktop.

When reflections are turned off they reappear in the tower windows on return to the tower.  Reflections are still off in the cockpit even after they reappear in the tower. Deselecting and re-selecting EM to None or Reflections will turn off the window reflections until the next tower visit.

I thought that might be why the EM setting affected it, I understand that even set to None the EM uses a map it just doesn't update it, but it goes away when you turn off reflections which on reflection is a little confusing.

Melee/Greebo's CraterMA: when closing A47 in order to shoot the ack, the game stopped responding. Went back and the auto save had taken me to the other side of the field. Turned back and when I was close enough to locate an ack, stopped responding again. Ctrl-Alt-Del->TaskManager enabled using the mouse and helped getting out the situation. The error details are as following, I suppose it doesn't really matter that the titles are in Finnish:

Just an addition to Bizman's report.  I was shooting in his general direction with an 88 gun at the time he CTD

Also during this time, I lost the ability to pull up the map. When I hit esc the controls for the 88gun would work, hit esc again and they wouldn't but no map would pop up. I ended up alt + F4 which asked if I wanted to quit the game. I chose yes and it closed.

Unfortunately the map was in a night cycle. hard to see.

ran 60 fps np, environment sounds running pre-map, major distortion in engine and environmental sounds. I assume work in progress.

Flight characteristics seemed somewhat different?????????????????????????? I say this based on the fact that my transferred settings will not be the same for ah3 as ah2.

Canopy and cockpit dial glass work is great. Slighty too much tho. Maybe it was the dark map????????
Slightly heavy in the green tint?????? Again maybe dark map????
exiting map went straight to desktop, skipping lobby.
clipboard seems to dim

Trivial stuff, freaking looks great from a end user perspective. I darted trying for tanks.
Loaded offline np today. machine must have needed a reboot after patch install.

this just happened.
I was flying low over a gv field that had a friendly gv'er on it. I had just killed a gun emplacement and was just cuise'in, low and fast.
I was pulling just under 1 GB vram, using sweetfx very minimally, all AA done in AH, NVidia profile mostly disabled. I had been in game 15mins.

BTW the map is beautiful, I mean jeezus, nice work.

I've been getting black polygons on the horizon while flying at high altitude (attached image; note I have a 2GB GPU card and AH says about 1GB used). 

Also, last night online in CraterMA I was unable to double click select a field (A87) that I had selected and upped from before.  It would repeatedly cause a white screen then CTD.  First the field was under attack, so I thought it was due to the attack siren sound, which would briefly get stuck in a stutter loop before the CTD, but later when the field wasn't under attack I still got CTDs.  Repeated many times.

And speaking of that siren: turning "Warnings" to 0 under Sound, Advanced Settings has no effect on the siren or the voice warning sounds.

CraterMA arena, had a fairly long dogfight between a 190-A5 and a 109G-14.  I was the G14.  As we passed between different distances of one another, his engine noise did not sound smooth like it normally does.  It would go from nothing to quite loud, I'm not familiar enough with the sounds in this version but it might have sounded like it was starting up.  When we were flying G6 vs G14, it faded in smoothly like I'd expect.

Only difference I could think of is possibly because the A5's a radial?

Experienced this online on a NDisles map that a port was being de-acked for a base capture. From the change log 01 to 02.

17. There were some town buildings, in the port, screwing up capture, these are now classed as structures.

Do you think this relationship of town buildings to a field object is repeating itself?

My Controllers are Saitek X52 Pro, although I have some others I could try to reproduce this.

Using a hat on my throttle or the castle hat on my stick, setting position down to Flight "Trim Elevator Down'  I would expect to see the elevator down 1 for each time I hit the hat downward.

Instead if I hit the hat down, the elevator slides all of the way to the max downward.  All other directions work like normal. Online in Melee.

I just hopped offline not knowing if it would matter but all attempts to use trim offline resulted in elevator down to max.  So aileron right and left and elevator up  (I didn't try rudder as I don't normally trim it) On both the throttle hat or the stick castle hat, all caused the elevator to go down to the max.
I'll check some of my other sticks next.

It's the same on my Cyborg EVO (Just mapping these to regular stick buttons not hats),  also I did try calibrating just to see if that had gotten messed up but it didn't fix it.
I have a couple more sticks I could try but I'd assume it's the same. Plus I gotta get back to work.  :D

Went back and checked all aircraft and vehicles. Then looked at the new CV and old destroyers. I tested everything by spawning facing north while the sun was locked at 10:00. If you look on the opposite side of the aircraft or vehicle you will find a light leak at joints like the wing fillet or vertical stab horizontal stab juncture. Or at the base of the tiger2 turret or with the destroyer, all seems at their base on the shade side from the sun. The new CV skin doesn't appear to suffer this. Even the storch has this at the base of the struts.

I have assigned a thrustmaster slider in mode 2 to sight range.  Still does not work.  The slider works fine in mode one as elevator trim.  I can set it this way in AH2.


Small item.  In Crater I bailed to look down at the clouds in my chute.  When you spin the chute the clouds spin with you.


If you would consider a lower default volume when a new patch is added.

Really enjoy the new sounds like mud and rock hitting the jeep fenders.

Still not fond of the running V12 sounds.  Starting sounds for the engines is the best ever.

It seems I am having problems with this new patch or rather two patches. Every time I jump into a Panzer or any other tank with a sliding range , My range keeps jumping. It works fine in the old game but in the alpha , I seem to not be able to use a tank . I have re installed the game and re calibrated my stick. I have checked the settings and have done every thing I can think of. I am using the X52 Pro . Does anyone else have a problem? Or is it just on my end?
On the throttle , there are two slides, Axis rotation and y rotation. They are unassigned but if I move them all the way to one end the jumping stops but I have no control over the range increase or decrease. Either with the C & V key or my stick.  The only thing I can say is HELP!!!

Did you calibrate them in the game?

If you copied your settings folder over from AH2, then try renaming it and starting from scratch to see if it continues.

Unfortunately the map was in a night cycle. hard to see.

Use the gamma and push it to extremes, you will see rather well.  Gamma will distort the wonderful night sky colors but as far as any head to head action, I wouldn't do it without blazing gamma.  My two cents.

I have re calibrated, renamed it reset all my buttons twice. Still every tank site jumps.

Tracers.

Will there be any further tweaking done to tracers?  Size - Visibility - Smoke trail.

My feedback is that they are very hard to see, generally, at higher resolutions. 

What's the FPS price-to-pay for smoke trails?

Low angled light with clouds, dawn, dusk. Higher elevations lines streak from cloud shadows. Constant flickering from clouds moving over head.
