Title: Zika-linked condition: WHO declares global emergency
Post by: ghi on February 01, 2016, 04:13:20 PM
Hmm, side effect of the global warming, more insects to spread diseases. I hope is getting contained, just a temporary :noid like Ebola last year; People make fun of our cold weather, but low temperature works like a disinfectant and mosquitoes are frozen 6 months/year;

Zika virus is spread to people through mosquito bites. The most common symptoms of Zika virus disease are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes). The illness is usually mild with symptoms lasting from several days to a week. Severe disease requiring hospitalization is uncommon.

This is going to be a serious dent in Brazil's hosting of the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Yes, but unfortunately it seems highly infectious, and one of those rare results is a baby with microencephaly and severe mental impairment.
So, when you get 100 million people infected, although rare, you still get a lot of heart-breaking, horrible outcomes.

Did Bill Gates screwed up something with his GMO mosquitoes? maybe not bad intentions, but i understand was financing this Frankenstein GMO mosquitoes to do some forced bite/vaccination, or.. depopulation, part of Agenda 21. :noid
"The current global outbreak of the Zika virus may have originated from GM mosquitoes that were released in Brazil during trials funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. "
"Zika Outbreak Epicenter In Same Area Genetically-Modified Mosquitoes Released In 2015" Brazil
The Zika virus, which has been detected in 18 of the 26 states in Brazil, is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito. A generically modified version has been developed by a British biotech company called Oxitec. Oxitec first unveiled its large-scale, genetically-modified mosquito farm in Brazil in July 2012, with the goal of reducing “the incidence of dengue fever,” as The Disease Daily reported. Dengue fever is spread by the same Aedes mosquitoes which spread the Zika virus — and though they “cannot fly more than 400 meters,” WHO stated, “it may inadvertently be transported by humans from one place to another.” By July 2015, shortly after the GM mosquitoes were first released into the wild in Juazeiro, Brazil, Oxitec proudly announced they had “successfully controlled the Aedes aegypti mosquito that spreads dengue fever, chikungunya and zika virus, by reducing the target population by more than 90%.” (http://cdn.theantimedia.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/zika-epicenter.png)
I don't know; dweeb doesn't speak English; -------------------------
btw, this company called ATCC specialized in all kind of gmo bacteria, microorganism , viruses and other zombies is selling Zika virus for 599 €, comes bundled with Windows 10 and squad of gmo mosquitoes.

Your digestive system has about 10,000 different types of bacteria in it, and the distribution of these species has a major impact on the functioning of your body. This distribution is now thought to play a role in obesity, crohn's disease, colitis, diabetes, allergies, and various other autoimmune diseases. There is even evidence that it plays a role in autism. This is the burgeoning scientific field of the microbiome.
There are some medical conditions where a person's distribution of bacteria gets out of whack (c. difficile infection is a current well-known example, but this will likely expand to more things), and a solution is to recolonize the digestive tract with a more-usual mix of bacteria by a technique called a "fecal transplant", which is basically eating poo.
It is quite interesting. I suspect that it will become a gigantically larger field in biotech and health care in the very near future.
