Earlier this evening,
I posted a mission in honor of my former squad, it was intended to be a bomb-run to the Knight City. Utilizing B-17's along with Pony escorts. However just before I posted my mission, LJ (bish) posted one as well. He was able to garner no joiners so I offered him to fly lead in my mission, and allow me to post my own. When I did, we garnered 8 formations of 17's, and five pony escorts.
Lj was very intrusive from the beginning, begging me to change fields, planes, etc. I appeased him by changing a field, and the mission lifted.
I do not have a mic currently (one is on the way), so he did talking, and a lot of it. Giving false orders, confusing the group, I kindly asked him to allow me to give orders via chat, and he did so. We climbed to our altitude, and began to get into formation. I assigned positions and then was stepped on by LJ, who confused the new pilots and old ones, causing two formations to fall behind. I told him to take it slow using the wingman command, and climb slow.
He initiated a climb steep enough to send me 500 behind almost instantly, at which point I kindly asked him to give up lead position, go level, and allow me to take lead. It was at this point that he called me an "idiot". And refused to level off or slow down. He quickly hijacked the mission due to my lack of mic. Over text he sent me messages such as "haha you idiot", "you got yourself killed", etc.
At this point, I proceeded to the nit city, dropped my bombs, and respectfully asked LJ not to join my missions anymore, at which point he responded "you cant stop me".
He then took credit for the mission I designed, posted, lead (up until the final stretch), and ruined my good name in the process.
Being part of G3MF, I am bound to be respectful throughout these sorts of situations, both during and after (in private or public). I did my very best to keep to this code, and i hope that by posting this on the forums I can gain awareness without being out of line. I wished LJ luck on returning home, along with all others and I landed my plane (upon seeing this LJ typed out "NOOOO" onto the country channel). Overall, those reading this, I do hope you will take this situation into consideration next time he posts a mission. I also hope that when I lead a mission in the future my microphone will allow this not to occur again. I am not angry with LJ, very disappointing however, and I do hope he stays away from my future missions.
Edit: Based on the replies I want to clarify something, I know how young LJ is. I hope that he learns that what he does and says in public (or private), has consequences. My intention is for him to learn from his mistake, and next time choose the better path. I dont think he is a bad kid, I just think this is part of the learning process.

He's a young kid.
IBTL.
-
Snaps, he's like 12 years old.
He also pitched a fit in KOTH last week flinging f-bombs all over the place and generally is a poor sport.
But again, he's 12 years old. We just get the pleasure of raising him, apparently...
-
Funny how ya can't tell 12yr olds from (a lot) of adults around here. :old:
-
Yea LJ is a kid.
-
Oh I know he is young, that is actually why I gave him flight lead. I felt bad for his mission failing and I wanted to do the kid a favor.
I am posting this because for him to learn respect, he needs to learn that what he does in public or says in private, has consequences. Even my own respect is not lost to LJ, I know that he is a youngie, I know that he is learning. My hope is that he finds out that what he did is known and therefore next time he considers his options he chooses the more respectful path. All part of the learning process.
Again, this is only a hope. The truth is that even at his young age, I never would have come close to acting as he did tonight. I am admittedly concerned for this boys future should he not learn respect in a timely manner.
-
This wont end well. :bolt:

True, though he hasn't said anything inaccurate and the kid probably could use a public shaming or 10.

He is a kid!
He should be beaten!
LOL!
I take credit for all base takes or mission even if I had no input :rofl
Snaps is trolling :rofl
I offered to whip Snaps butt in the DA but he refused :old:

Sometimes them kids just need to be taught respect!

so I offered him to fly lead in my mission

Here's your problem. Don't do this, and wait till your mic comes in to post missions. Problem solved.
Post a decent one and I'll join.

Yea LJ is a kid.
Maybe LJ is a Skyyr shade! I mean... he wouldn't have to change anything but his voice, barely!

I've encountered him a few times in flight and on country channel. He seems like a decent kid (agree with his 12-14 age range) who just happens to act his age at times. Cut him some slack as he learns the game and matures through his silliness.

Have you shot him down?
-
Ive run into him a couple of times and he has only been polite to me on pm.
-
like my grandma used to say, sleep with children, wake up full of crap.

I believe his father's handle is "Picko". Just send him a PM when LJ misbehaves and let the father deal with it.

Ah yes, I was told that his father was in game a little earlier today. If I had known this last night I would not have put something on the forums and instead contacted his father directly. Wish I had known earlier :frown:
-
Well... concidering how well some adults behaves in this game it should not be a surprise if a kid misbeheave sometimes...

Yep...this :aok well said Max

Cut the kid some slack....no matter how many times he drops the F bomb.... :aok

Nope, no excuse for that. :furious Not for him or anyone else in this game.
That having been said, I have not had any problems with him nor have I encountered his "f-bomb" on channel of in text. If I do I will treat him just like any other individual in the game, report him. As for the ones "enabling" him because he's a kid, shame on you.
-

Why? There have been plenty of kids over the years who have been respectful. You cut a kid slack for asking a billion questions, or being all excited over vox. There is absolutely no reason to cut them slack for swearing or being a poor sport, rage PMing and all that.

I was being sarcastic lol. I completely agree with you, it's absolutely unacceptable.

Flew over my head, sorry.

I understand, it's hard to catch it unless it's spoken.

He's IQ retentive. Feel sorry for his parents who failed so miserably.

He's 12. Your parents must be proud of you.
This thread is not worth leaving unlocked.

That explains it

just goes to show you, no good deed goes unpunished!! its a shame that kids arent brought up with the same fear of death we were. in my day an incident like that was worthy of an butt whoopin. alas today some moron decided its child abuse and all the little bast.....kids know it! just my 2 cents.

Your right!
I got beaten by my parents on a regular basis :old:
Never did me any harm.
They tried to contact me once I set the dog on them :old:
-
Don't know why you thought running a mission without a mic was a good idea in the first place....could have called failure from the start.

Nevermind. Following my own advice.

Have you seen how some of the 40+ year olds act in this game? LJ is better behaved then most of them.

So for comparison..... you think it is ok for people to rob banks because others do.
Being a turd has no excuse. Pointing out other turds does not make this one any better. Turds come in all sizes shapes and ages. This thread was discussing one.

LOL!
First, I'm IN.
Second, isn't this type of thing supposed to be reported off the bbs?
Third, because of 2, this WILL NOT end well, as others have observed.
Fourth, Zack is the king of old-school parenting and shows damn good form, both on the forehand, and the all-important backhand <smack>. If they ain't bawlin' the societal sky is fallin'.
Fifth, there is no fifth thing.

No I'm comparing a 12 year old to tge 40 year olds. My experiences with LJ have been nothing but reapectful...but some interactions I've had with players who are 40+ have been nothing but crap...example Sawzaw
You immediately blamed his parents...which if Picko is his dad he has a better example for online interaction then you would be if you were his dad...so lay off the kid...kids learn from mistakes, I'm sure he will learn from this.

My Daughter was in the G.A.T.E. program. You may or may not know what that is. She was taught that the way she acts in public is a window to everyone she meets as to the way her family acts and how she has been raised.
Don't make yourself look silly trying to drag me down into that pile. If you are ok with how this kid acts, that is fine. Different folks set different standards. It is what makes us human. It is also what makes some good and some bad.

Well, in fairness, I've only seen the bad behavior on one occasion. Maybe he was drunk.

The thread should exist, the kid and father should see it, lessons should be learned and applied, and we should all move on giving a clean slate.
-
how I act in this game has nothing to do with how I act in real life. if anybody here thinks there's a comparison, they're fricking delusional. I have yelled at, insulted perhaps, or was even a dick to some. but when I met them in real life, I was always glad and gave a hug. I can tell the difference between a game and real life.

Seems to go against some rule around here......

Some people "leave it on the rink," and other people don't have to.
