While flying from A42 headed southeast towards the mountain, noticed the mountain morphing as you changed the "detail" slider.

The field down times appears to be working.

the terrain detail slider def changed my frame rate which is 17 if I hit the default button.  :uhoh

I'll try to wedge my vehicle in a tree later.

Updated fine. Graphic and Font issue seems to have disappeared. Getting great frame rates. 35-40 in tower and 59-60 in flight with settings fairly high. Can't wait to really see some action.

Spawn jeep V150 base spawn and roll off tarmac into oblivion.  Give air time achievement then rolls and rolls forever.  Have to kill game as cannot /.ef until you are stopped

<edit> - when I relaunched the game it put me back in flight on the tarmac.  I turned left and was able to get out but still got bumped by some unknown obstacle

Was able to spawn 20+ times after that with no issue.

Installed update ok.

Still can't make the aileron trim work on various HOTAS, I've tried all three, and elevator and rudder work, but won't work for aileron even if I try the same hats that just worked for rudder/etc.

Also, the reflections were set to "1" when I updated, and now I can't change them.  If I try switching reflections on/off, or from max to none, it always reverts to just "1" in the clip board settings.  Disabling shadows and other stuff still works, as does enabling them, but reflections/update is stuck on 1 regardless of any changes made.

I have the same issue, and the shadows are very blocky and flicker. They lose a lot of resolution halfway down the wing.

I noticed that the sea was vanishing before the terrain and leaving a straight line across the screen.

Exhaust form planes starting up isn't volumetric and the flap texture clips with the airframes.

The hills/mounds around the gun emplacements clips and flickers, the issue is worse than before.

Some of the shadows in cpit are not lining up to the frames of the canopy, seen in 190s. Also shadow missing around the P51 gun sight

EM slider does nothing and jumps back to 0 (what mine used to be set at) on "OK" no matter what I set it for.
V139 has trees growing out of one building.
V139 you can fall through the ground coming out of hanger spawn necessitating an Alt-F4.
Some trees in these groupings can be driven through with no collision (CraterMA): -29099,3875,115382,-0.0,-0.3,1.1; -29286,3875,115362,-0.0,-0.3,42.4
When you flip a Jeep over it often falls through the ground and requires an Alt-F4 to get out.

Terrain Detail slider frame rate testing showed going from default (about 12%) to max has no effect on my frame rate.  Thanks for adding this: it improves the look of the mountains with very little to no adverse effects on frame rate.

The right click DT appears to work properly.  I tested by killing one then the other guns at a small Vehicle field and it showed properly.  Other bases worked as well and selecting the flak bases no longer sometimes gives the local HQ or City down time info.

It appears to be significantly less likely to get stuck when colliding with trees; I hit a lot of trees.  However, it is still possible especially with trees with low lying branches and especially if you try to pass then on the high side of a slope.  The vehicle can then slide sideways down into the tree and get stuck.  I managed to get stuck in these trees (CraterMA):

Groobo's Crater MA
Up dated to patch 14 and installed it with no problems. FPS is fine, expect when I first spawn in on runway then FPS is as low as 17 to 54, once in the air the FPS is between 57-60. My garphic card is a MSI GTX 960 4GB DRR5 128 bit, it really don't matter if I SLI the cards or not FPS is about the same.
I have been doing some heavy beta testing on the heavy bombers here are my finding and results:
1) Lancaster 3: The Lancaster bomber has a sound problem which has been comfrimed by, SFOX, Navy84, BZCajun, and a few others. When you start up the Lancaster engine there is no sound at all in either the internal (cockpit view) or external (F3 view). However for me I can hear sound when I first start up the engines, once the engines have completely started up, the sounds of the engine completely stops. I don't about the other players wh have comfrimed the no engine sound, I still can hear the landing gears go up and down, also can hear the flaps go up and down, and bomb bay doors open and close.

2) B-29: The B-29 is working fine, however there is one problem with the B-29, the manifold pressure needle is not working right. After take off and climb to 2,000 ft., I put into auto-climb, I drop my RPM's to Nornal Power at 2400 rpms the manifold pressure needle stayed at 47.5, I believe it should drop to about 42 MP. Later I drop the rpms Max Cruise which is 2200 rpms, the manifold pressure needle stayed at 47.5 and did not drop to the correct reading, I believe it should be around 40 or 38.5 MP. After about 1 1/2 hours of flight time and the ALT. of about 27,000 ft. the manifold pressure needle finally moved to the correct manifold prressure reading.
I believe this a bug, the manifold pressure needle should move to the correct reading after you drop your RPMs. It shouldn't take 1 1/2 hours of flight time before it moves to the correct reading. Other then the manifold pressure needle problem, the B-29 works great.

3) B-17G: The B-17G is working beautifully, no problems.

4) B-24J: The B-24J is working great, I did have one problem, this may be just a one time thing, I was in the bombsight, just when I was ready to drop my bombs, the bombsight just went black for about 3-5 seconds, then it reappeared. I redid my bomb run and this time nothing happen. Like I said it may have been a one time thing.

There are few odd things happening with the bombers, one player reported that he had lag with his drones, lagging about 2k from the lead plane.
I tested on a formation of B-17's and B-29's. With the B-17's and B-29's, both times I climb to 20K and went into the bombsight and turn the planes. In the B-17's after I turn went to auto-level went to F3 view and both drons were about 3k behind me, few minutes later then join the formation.
I did the same thing with the B-29's after the turn went to F3 view and both drones was about 2k behind me, they too join formation with in a few minutes. Is this a bug? Not sure maybe a internet thing.
Another odd thing, I was flying on the Bish side, I think it was A64 or 54, it is the 2k air field, took Ki 67 from there I believe on NW runway, there is a little hill at the end of runway. Once up in the air and wheels up, I did a gentle right hand turn, after turn went to auto-climb, went to external view F3 and looked behind me, saw my Ki 67 drones flying stright, a few minutes later they join the formation. I never saw that happen before.

Also the reflextion on the B-17 engine 1 and 2 of the B-17G cockpit, I just went in the graphic card and turned off the reflextion, end of problem.

This is my report and finds for Aces High 3 Beta Patch 14.

Looking up sound stutters, look left higher engine sound on left not right, and look right higher engine sound on right not left. Looks and feels good overall.

Map Down Time: Refresh Error
On ndisles terrain, took a typhoon over to V23 and blew stuff up.  Right-clicked V23 on clipboard and selected V23 Down Times.  Everything had a checkmark in the left pane and the right pane was blank.  I had destroyed some fuel bunkers so I clicked Bunk Fuel in left pane and the right pane then said "Field 23 is completely alive."  Clicked the Refresh button and got the error message "Invalid File Number 70848859 Field Cnt 63."

I did some frame rate testing with the detail slider. I tested in CraterMA online with FOV 100, Vsnyc off.

To start with I had all other sliders at max detail and all graphics options on except EM at one notch. Here the game's frame rate is dominated by how much nearby clutter, (trees etc) is being drawn. So in all situations, tower, GV, aircraft low or high, the difference between the detail slider fully left to fully right was typically only about 0-2 FPS.

Then I tested with all the other detail sliders and options turned off/down, which is more like how someone needing to use the detail slider would have their PC set up. Here it made more of a difference. In a GV I went from 325 FPS to 354 FPS moving the detail slider left to right and in an aircraft at alt it went from 322 to 400 FPS. Biggest difference was in the tower at A1 where it went from 270 to 363. Oddly in the tower at A45 it only changed from 316 to 328.

There is some nice quite pretty stuff with all the settings pushed up. This put the frame rate at 14.

With all of the graphics turned down the rate went up to 58.  Both frame rates were while static in the hangar.

Having seen other games I play go all out for appearance instead of playability, I can't help feeling a bit nervous.

I can't justify upgrading all of the necessary gear to play Version 3, so as it stands now I'd choose to play in Version 2.

Will we be able to play on Version 2 after Version 3 goes live? 

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play a game that looks as good as Version 3 and I can appreciate how much work you must have put into it.  However, I'll always pick playability over looks.  Being in the UK I already suffer from longer ping times and rubber bullet syndrome when the skies get busy, I can imagine that Version 3 will make the game unplayable for anyone either outside the USA or who hasn't got top end gear and a great Internet connection.

Thrustmaster joystick not recognised, so had to fly with mouse.

Sound issues,  choppy engine looking up in P47 and F4U possibly more.
Also if idle, P28 and many other aircraft go silent with no idle sound played.

Climb and Weight do not show on E6B.

I tried to get a stork out of a hanger and it bounced and crashed at A64 Greebo map

Environmental map slider setting doesn't stay where I put it. Set it to "none" hit Ok and proceeded to spawn a tank. After seeing low FPS I rechecked the graphics settings and the Env. map slider was back at 2. Seems to reset automatically. Even setting at none, logging off, and logging back on doesn't make a difference. Slider resets to 2.

I found that, flying low the trees appear to mash into one another. I think this is because they are all the same green throughout. I think if more shades or green were used the trees wouldn't do this.

The waves going onto the beaches is very uniform in it's lines, looks unnatural

I was able to drive a Ju87G through the motorpool doors from one side to the other with no damage.

Tested the down time right click.  Every object I destroyed on enemy and friendly worked perfectly so far.  Super neat feature I might add.

Engine start puffs still illuminate the pedal area under the dashboard in certain fighters like 109's, 190's, La's etc.

Tested the new slider.
in a gv got pretty much 60fps no matter what I set it at with everything full on.

In a airplane above ground clutter detail I could go full slider with everything on and still held 60
However when flying at NOE levels took a big hit dropping below 40.

Still in a plane at NOE levels and default the graphics setting and full on with the new slider I started adding back the check list items one at the time then back off to test the next one..  Nothing hit the frame rate like shadows on.  All other things like ground clutter had little effect.


I might add too I saw little difference in eye candy with the slider much above default setting.

Didn't see any FPS change with change in terrain detail slider position but did see change in height and shape of mountains. It was nice mowing down down some trees with Panzer but stopped by many others. I would post  the positions but don't know where they are saved. I did use the .Psave command.

It appears there is no way to take off in the Storch from V149 in the Crater map. It spawns in the middls of a cluster of buildings.

37mm still has no firing flash.

When testing the 37mm I played with the new slider again.  Shadows was again the biggest frame rate hog.

In the crater arena on the tiny vehicle fields, the Fi156 is selectable. But, there is no way to take off, only H and the H put you on the ramp between buildings.

Did further testing with Tree detail and range sliders down low for playability.  Terrain detail slider still had no adverse effect on frame rate: CraterMA V59T looking N at mountains, slider at 12%=35 fps, slider at 100%=35 fps.  The slider does work as the mountains get much more detailed.  It would appear that even at low tree detail and range the trees are the major workload and the few extra polygons added at high Terrain detail settings add little to the stress.

I watched as someone bombed V148 on CraterMA and something on the base on the NNW corner blew up and started burning.  However, nothing was visible there except the flames and later testing showed nothing visible, nothing to collide with, and nothing to hit with a tank round.  Unfortunately, at the time I didn't think to check the status of the field to see what object may have been destroyed.

On CraterMA driving out of the hanger spawn point of all tiny vehicle fields can cause the vehicle to sink into or through the ground.  It's not just V139.  The tiny fields in Tankland aren't affected.

That is because when we transitioned from Alpha to Beta, we did not force the removal of the Alpha and fixed the installers to handle that case.  So if you had the Alpha and just patched along to now, you still see the Alpha ICON.

If you remove the Beta from your computer and do a full installation, the ICON is named correctly.

It does not hurt anything as we have addressed it in the installers and patches.

Active Alpha Slider for gunsight reticle brightness.

Beta 13 - only the pilot's reticle responded to the alpha slider in flight and the 3 rear reticle responded after setting alpha in the tower.
Beta 14 - rear postion looking aft. only the right reticle responds to the active slider for dim\bright in flight.

Not a big, but when I created a custom arena, I tried to change the setting of enabling planes at all v-bases on the tank town map, and I was given a box to fill in a password.

Is this something only the cm staff can do?

No it should have work , I'll check it out.

Also can you run a test for me, type .eplane -1 -1
That enables all planes all fields.

I opening the beta and it started the download. Something downloaded, and then something else, then another. I eventually noticed it was downloading each patch after the next...10, then 11, etc. My download speeds are not too great so I stopped it.

Do I need to download each one to get to 14?

You can do that or download the entire installation.  When the size of the patches combined exceed the size of the ful installation, we skip the patch download and download the entire game.

Sunk an nme cv off of V97, CV disappeared but flame stayed lit. CV seemed to be softer than AH2. :confused:

Where is the Battleship on CraterMA?

LVT can up at a port, but nothing else, wall around VH Hanger.

Downloaded AH3 beta yesterday. Most of the time I join an arena the game crashes and a box pops up stating "ahbeta has stopped working"  When I can get in an arena the frame rate is in the 20-30 range.

Still get motion sickness in air, ground is not as bad

Major sound problems on all planes I flew (4) no sound at take off, after switching views sound would pop in and out, after a few more view switches the sound returned to normal.

While turning turret in Wirble noticed an effect almost like translucent curtains falling over and over again.

While flying Storch trees seemed to shift around slightly like landscape was moving. Slightly nauseating. had to bail.

FPS in both cases were 70-100.

Game frequently (33% of time) freezes when I try to quit arena and need to exit using CTRL-ALT-DEL

K14 gunsight.

When you go to 100% zoom, the line that the red arrows are touching will flicker on and off as a bright white line at the base of the glass reflector plate. I have not been able to catch it at it's white phase doing a screen capture.

CraterMA Port 64, has invisible wall effectively stopping GVs from driving onto base from spawn points.  It appears to be right at the edge of the visible ground clutter, possibly at the edge of the base object itself.

Sound issues,  choppy engine looking up in P47 and F4U possibly more.
Also if idle, P28 and many other aircraft go silent with no idle sound played.

Climb and Weight do not show on E6B.

I tried to get a stork out of a hanger and it bounced and crashed at A64 Greebo map

I had forgotten I added the Long & Lat date and time in the E6B.

Any fixed the climb and weight.

In the crater map at A67 I noticed as I rotated a 37mm the surrounding trees rotated so the same branches were pointed in the direction of the gun instead of the reverse which would be expected as the point of view from the gun changed. (Hope that's clear)

In all of the towers I here a sound similar to a GV running but if I spawn into a manned gun or spawn a GV and shut down the engine there is no external sound.

straight ahead or left......same effect. I guess my little corvette is grounded if I up at 98   :D

I tried other ports and various gv's.  If you try to leave the area that looks like cement the gv will stop. The barrier is all around the spawn hangar.

Oh, one more thing. I drove through trees and did not get stuck. That's cool.

Hey Skuzzy,

     Still having issues with hanger launch( on base) from ports with any vehicle other than LVT's or Storch.

    Sidenote I am still having trouble seeing tracers from incoming or outgoing gv rounds. also seems difficult to see hit flashes on targets over 1200 distant. I can see near hits as small mushroom detonations, but actual hits don't seem to register at all. The only other real issue I have noticed personally is the sounds direction vectors,difficult to get a solid bearing or range by sound. Tried all the setting and so far the 7.1 seems to be the best. I use the 3D surround on AH2. I have also noticed sometimes other engines make no sound at all, while my own engine and vox sound normal. That applies to gv or plane engines. appears to be totally random when it will happen.

      Love the look and overall feel of the new version, looking forward to live launch.

Upped a k4 in the waffle arena for a custom event. Upon start up, white smoke appeared inside by the rudder pedals. Only model so far I've seen happen

Hitech,

I've played beta for a couple of days now. I set the field of view to 106. The view looks downward when you are sitting back in the cockpit. When you toggle default view as a button, it goes back to a zoomed in, more level view. However, you cannot zoom further back to get a wider view at that angle. Plus, when ever you use the view hat switch, it goes back to the original look down view. Is there any way you could make it to where you can make the default view further back in the cockpit and save it that way? I noticed that you simply cannot adjust the default view like you can in AH2 by hitting F10 at a preferred distance and height.


Please change the engine sounds. Use a different sound pack for the engine sounds. The guns sound good. The outside sounds of another's engine sounds absolutely georgeous, but the internal sounds relate to a lawn mower.   

In the custom arena, there was no selection for gondolas in the 109s. The fuel loadouts were invisible. Maybe it was just the map...

I also think you should consider using hard smooth textures for the hanger just like you have it in the MA now. Think of how Halo3 looks compared to Halo4 and 5.  The halo 3 textures were smooth and define. I think that type of structure is very realistic. Personally, I think you should keep the hanger exactly how it is now in AH.

For our custom arena, we were in waffle, which is a ww1 style.
I found that rockets on the 38 couldn't be taken off, much led on. His might be the fact that it's a forward Felix but then all the bomb options are available

This is hardly a bug but an issue I think should be addressed. I've been driving around on the crater map in a Panzer and hitting trees. I have yet to make it through one of the big thick trunked trees which make sense. It's the small trees that should be more consistent. About 20% can be driven over but most cannot. In some case overhanging branches will stop the tank even if the trunk isn't hit. It seems all or most small trees should go down when struck by a tank. I'm assuming the goal is to be as realistic as possible. Also it would nice to be able to predict which trees we can drive over and which we cannot.

One issue I think may be a bug is occasionally I will hit and isolated tree, be stopped dead, and not be able to back away. It's like the tree has an unbreakable grip on the tank.

When using a custom arena, my mic was at the same settings as ah2, where people can hear my voice. In the custom arena, my voice would be quiet, readjusted, where it sounded good, and then the voice dropped off to be almost unhearable

fps has doubled from earlier beta, gone from  4-6 fps to 11-14 albeit everything turned off

Only issue I had in-game was spawning my m18 into the lower branches of a tree about 10 ft up. 
Would have been a great ambush position if gun would depress more.

As a bug in Beta i noticed some odd flashing as i was flying. Almost like flash bulbs going off at time.
In CraterMA i found a bug in the Terrain that blocks you from getting out of the VH. there's like an invisible wall all around the VH. I included film.
