Bear, I think HiTech is asking our opinions/views/thoughts in reference like the www.flyaceshigh.com, as a new extra forwarding URL link ( correct me if I am misreading the OP, please )
SlipKnot, isn't WorldWar2Online already a pre existing game, or was? Do you remember 'wwiionline" ?
edit: also, HiTech is asking if the AH community would rather use http://www.waronline.com/ instead of using http://www.hitechcreations.com/ for the games homepage ( with www.flyaceshigh.com, still being used as a forwarding URL? )...... www.waronline.com is a lot easier to type and remember....
what about www.AcesHighwaronline.com ? <--- just a thought

I dislike it. It's too much of a "Johnny Come Lately" with the "Online" suffix to it. I think that's been done to death. Obviously it's online.
Besides that, Aces High has clout as far as names go. A new name or a new rebranding wouldn't have that.

That works for me.
Is World War On Line taken? I haven't tried www.worldwaronline.com You might want both.
If someone sees the url in a Google search, that first is vague enough to attract player views from every game genre, from FPS and Space ship games to Minecraft and WoW. It might miss target audience, but it might also keep the revolving game door full of players.

at this point I imagine if WarOnline is available through a domain name search that might be it, I imagine the list of WW2 style domain names is staggering
Wings, Planes, WW2, War, Combat, Aces, how about ....Air Warrior, j/k (looks both ways slams and locks the door)

I'd say you gotta test it with whatever demographic your going to target for marketing. For me it has no appeal but the fact is I found the game by directly searching for WW2 online air combat or some such search and AH could have been called Wombat VS Chicken and it would have made no difference. Waronline sounds to me like Drudgeryonline, (I am not being snide I am just telling you honestly how I react to the name.)
If you feel like the game name is boxing it in, (Aces High is a strange name for a tank or naval game after all,) I'd say you have a dilemma. On the one hand "Play Aces High at Waronline" confuses me, is Aces High just one of several games? Can I play Aces High somewhere else? and the on the other hand if you expand the equipment and strategies away from the flight centric the name Aces High does become increasingly obscure.
Frankly I don't think it matters too much, IL2 lived and died without regard to its rather specific and uninformative name. War Thunder sounds like bloviation but is successful, Rise of Flight could be an anime. Warbirds was probably the most succinct name and they aren't their anymore.
Also somethingONLINE sounds a little dated even to my older ears. Increasingly there is no such thing as offline, what is the age cutoff for recognizing a modem handshake squawk?

I typed in "Flying Games" as the first search I ever did over 20 years ago on my first ever computer and the search results brought me to "Airwarrior".
I have no idea how much these sites cost but I say go for it Dale. If it is ambiguous maybe even better. Who knows what the searcher is looking for? Maybe he is not even sure. I know I was just looking for a game I could fly on my new computer. I had no idea at the time I would actually be playing against human beings.
I know most folks are quite savvy compared to my retardation from back in the day, but they all are not.
"War Online" IS a good choice in my opinion.

Yep, +1 pembquist. I don't know how many even learn about the game this way anymore. But I heard about (air warrior at the time) by a co-worker, played that a little but not too much as I was a broke college kid the 2 or 3 bucks an hour at the time, cant remember exactly was rich for my blood. Then later again, word of mouth from the same guy.

It really doesn't play well in my opinion. Doesn't role of the tongue and is vague, the term that is, when used with AH. Dunno though, can't think of much better, but including the era might help. Maybe "Fly Aces High, at combat online!" (or air combat online?) sounds a little clearer to me. Dunno... :headscratch:

There is already a game by that name, or at least was. Think Cornered Rats rebranded WW2Online to Battlefield Europe.

If this is because AH has out grown the front page description of:
Aces High takes the art and science of vintage WW1 and WW2 air combat and sets it in a high intensity online multiplayer environment.
A name change( re-branding) to bring the AH world inline with where it has evolved, will help a new generation of subscribers identify with what they will see when entering AH3.
We fight a forever war in the air, land, and sea. We have dedicated pilots and tank commanders who cross disciplines to increase their fun because the game has evolved into offering so much. A new name leaves the door open to more evolution, rather than stick AH in a narrow niche of "only air combat matters". That just happens to take place over the top of tanks and ships customers are paying $14.95 to play war with.
Air combat will always be prime because of the "super hero aspect" of air combat and 1000lb bombs. And this game world as a whole has attracted players with so many other interests and talents which the Aces High world has been able to support with their ingenuity. The Aces High world is now a clay that can be easily molded into so many aspects of WW2 because it's creator made it so the player can use simple tools to duplicate those aspects.
A new name to look at this game with will also distance the Aces High of old and all of it's acrimony baggage from the minds of new customers so they only know the new game Hitech has created.

Maybe AcesOfWar or something, to distinguish it from it's competitor.

Could I also recommend that you delete notes off your website that say things like "servers are down" when they happened weeks or month ago in the past. It doesn't give off a good vibe. Maybe people will think the game shut down. Too be honest, I think there needs to be much more picture art and great videos posted right on the front page. You gotta hype people up so they get excited about downloading the game.
I think the name will attract attention. It's not my favorite name, I really like Saves name idea the best. Waronline is a name that has a lot to live up to.

Hitech, remember that anyone looking for this game is simply going to Google the name they remember. Give them only one - Aces High. Then make sure the site URL has the product name in it.
Even your old URL "Flyaceshigh.com" was better than the current URL for HTC. Adding "War Online" is to the mix will not help bring people to the game but will probably keep people away via product confusion.

I like the idea of trying to encompass all aspects of ww2 rather than just air combat. Battleground WW2 or something like that that hasn't been taken.

Ack Ack is correct cornered rat originally title that World War II online and then they did some more work to it and rebranded it to Battlefield Europe I still play the game, the ground game is really fun especially when you play as Infantry but their air-to-air is something to be desired. I've been playing it since its first launch.

I still remember Fly Aces High at FlyAcesHigh.com from the commercials on the History channel, way back when the history channel was a channel about history.
It's still bookmarked in my brain as such, and will continue to be. I'm not sure there's a much better name that doesn't fall into some ridiculous ww2 game or online mmo game cliche already. Aces High has a great name, but the product description and website still leave something to be desired.
I agree with the point that maybe 'servers down' posts should be removed from the front page after they are no longer relevant. I also feel like a 'developers blog', although maybe not Hitech's style, will show a constant state of development from the crew and not a stale game that only gets updates every 6 months.

I think it's a little better than flyaceshigh.com. At least it feels easier to remember for a potential new customer.

It's good. Generic searches for War Online comes up with a good cross section of war history and gaming so it reaches the target. If you had the name, well, ya that works out just fine :aok
