Yes, UFO.
It was in the mid '50s on a cold and clear winter night just before Christmas. So cold the snow went crunch walking on it.
Lived near an airbase so was familiar with airplanes, especially the new jets (Sabres and CF-100s).
This bright object low to the horizon flew fast across the sky. At first thought it was a jet airplane that had just taken off but no exhaust tail and NO sound. Disappeared behind a house and was gone.
Maybe a meteor but no 'flaming' tail and no sound, tho it could have been a long ways away.

Horton sailplanes tested by the US and UK after WW2 look very much like some drawings of UFOs from the front or rear aspect. No engines, high performance, and can easily "disappear" at the right view angles.

Encountered a ghost at a church when I was 18. I had been present when the pastor had died there of a heart attack. Months later a friend and I were in the parrish hall alone, and heard footsteps and whistling of the pastor's favorite tune that he would whistle walking through the hall. We checked the entire building and found ourselves alone.

I was headed home around 2:30 AM in my 1967 Mustang around 1974-75. I was out in the middle of the country here in east Texas. This was on a very dark moonless night. As I was approaching a stop sign the whole inside of my car lit up brighter than day with an almost white light. What caused it was moving fast and quiet from east to west. I saw it clearly as it moved away at high speed. Before going over the horizon it separated into two orbs.
I did not come to a complete stop. There was no other traffic on the road and I hit the gas. I must have smoked those Mickey Thompson N50s for better than 140 feet. I did not stop till I got home. I immediately called the local radio station (KBUK) and told them what I saw. I asked if they had other reports. They said the phones were ringing off the hook and they had lots of calls regarding the bright lights moving at high speed.
Well Monday morning comes at school and everyone was talking about it. Some, like myself, had witnessed the light. On the news during the day it was reported that a large meteor had passed through the atmosphere, split in two and exited the atmosphere.
This is the closest I have ever been to thinking I may have seen a UFO.
There is one story that made national news that happened within 12 miles of my home. Two ladies were burned by a bright light that hovered in the sky and made their vehicle quit. That was a few years before the meteor.

No, but I've seen black goo. :noid In northern Transylvanian where I grew up, food was not always as easy, I used to go with my grandparents in deep forest and pick up edible wild mushrooms . In few occasions I was lured by some sort of rich dense mushrooms growing on a layer of black substance leaking from dead rotten trees and branches laying around and tried to pick them up, but this panicked my grands, they pull me away not to touch it, they cast away all the mushrooms and run home shaking, quickly. As soon as we got home they light candles, prayed and read religious texts. I've been told the black substance is demonic, for future to stay away from it, don't touch anything growing on it because comes from dark side. As years passed I almost forgot about my childhood nightmare , untill few years ago, I read about this black goo , gushing out of the Earth messing roads in Venezuela. They call it 'la mancha negra" the " black stain ", the gov. spent millions of $$ , invited experts from all over the world to help clean up the road, still didn't understand its origin. here is explained; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Mancha_Negra
Last month, this story reignited my memories, was reported by multiple sources; "Gross 'black slime' creeps over Washington DC's most famous monuments - and no one knows how to get rid of it " Watch the video in this article, they call it biofilm but don't have a clue what is it, some sort of multidimensional programmable matter enforcing the 2nd commandment.

Been to some of the most "haunted" places in the western United States. Sites of alleged massacres during the Indian Wars, burned Spanish monasteries, old ghost towns, several mines, and multiple human trafficking sites on the Western coast. It's all bubkis.
Extensive experience hiking, camping, and hunting in the Pacific Northwest and northwest since I was 12, and bubkis for sasquatch in what is supposedly his main drag.
Way I figure it, that movie Men in Black didn't have it too far wrong. Humans are dumb, panicky animals, and crap we can't immediately explain scares us. We misremember things, our eyes don't work right, our brains make conclusions based on incomplete information.

Yeah, that's how humans work alright. They point at 'the other fellow' and claim he must be whacko without knowing anything about the guy.
Neil deGrasse Tyson makes fun of people that claim to have seen 'UFOS.' He said basically what Kampfer just did, that humans are flawed, spouting his faith in the belief that humans came out of the sea and our eyes are designed for seeing under water. Then he says that because the entire universe is made of the same matter that we have on Earth there must be another civilization out there, as the odds suggest. So, basically he is saying that he is just a better educated, and very flawed human, like the people that see UFOs.
If Tyson is correct, then you don't have to worry about aliens, ever.
Bigfoot? It's hard to believe that a single, or even small group of giant hominids have remained undiscovered and yet have managed to survive.
Ghosts are the one phenomenon that could actually be an anomaly of flawed vision. 'Floaters' in the eye could cause someone to think they saw movement in dim light. I have no problem believing that.
Yeti? Probably large Russians in winter Ghillie suits.
Black goo? Oil maybe.

I enjoy thinking of the possibilities and don't discount anything that is possible. If you think you know it all it shows how close minded you really are. There are various unexplained events like the story of the Russian students that hiked into a supposed Yeti territory. Their tongues and eyes eaten. Also some images on their camera were found. Many stories date back centuries before hoaxes were fashionable. I've camped and hiked extensively and don't always see bear and deer but I believe the people that tell me they are there. Carl Sagan mathematically figured it was more than likely other civilizations should exist somewhere out there and if they are advanced a few thousand years ahead of us who knows what they think of us.
Take comfort in the reality you make for your self. It may be too scary out there for you. :noid

Sorry, Carl Sagan was using the Drake equation, which is very flawed. For instance, it says because life evolved here the chance that it evolves elsewhere is 100% (that's what a '1' in the equation means). However, if there is no life, no chance of it evolving off Earth, then that becomes a 0% chance. It zeros the entire equation. The only reason it works is because of faith in science over other realities.

If life exists on earth then the chance of there being any life in the universe is already proven to be above 0%. The odds we are the only planet with life will decrease as we explore the cosmos.

As far as ghosts, I had a girlfriend who swore she had a benevolent poltergeist following her. It got to the point during junior year in HS where we'd hold these parties when her folks weren't home. The way the thing communicated was (and I know this sounds crazy) through an old snack tray. This thing would make the tray rock ever so slightly, and we'd sit there close, staring at it, doing the the whole A, B, C... thing out to spell out what he was saying. We had these parties so many times that I am personally convinced there was no way it was fake. Plus he told us who he was and how he died, and it was so crazy-random that we looked it up and found him in a book in the town library. This thing could make the dog run in the room and bark, shut lights off, make your hands turn cold or warm. He made a battery-powered wall clock stop on command once. Fourteen people in the room, all looking at the clock, waiting for it to stop, and he stopped it. Had to change the batteries to get it to run again. He apparently had fun doing this with us, and so did we, so you never really got scared. But if you all started shouting questions at him at once, he'd make the tray bang like someone was slapping a palm down on it, and then he'd disappear for an hour or so. First time I saw that bang I got pretty freaked out. But he had a sense of humor, too. Like I said, we all had fun with it so it wasn't ever scary. And no way it was fake. Just one of those things, I guess.

I saw something in the sky a few months ago at work that I couldnt explain. I was sitting in work truck next to a pond, the sun had just gone down so it was still somewhat light. I looked across the pond and there was a line of trees and a red light flew about 20 feet over the top of the trees and disappeared in a planted field of corn about a foot tall. Later that night I walked over to see if I could see anything, and there was absolutely nothing there, I should add that this happened right at the base of the killdeer mountains in north dakota at the "medicine hole". My wife and I stayed at her parents house a few years ago, we had gotten into a fight and I fell asleep on the side of the bed she slept on and I was woke up to something touching my back and it wasnt the wife, I screamed like a girl and ran hahaha

when I first started working at the steel mill, it was kind of weird. the mill was built during ww2. one night I was working alone with an overhead crane taking out steel slabs out of gondolas. I climbed down the crane to mark the slabs. I had the feeling somebody was looking at me, so I could up and I saw a man standing in the crane, I waved and he waved back. I turned around and 2 seconds later I remember that I was the only one working in the yard. I climb up the ladder to the crane and there was nobody inside.
when I was little I lived in this house it was brand new, but when it was being built the caretaker died. when we moved in we could hear footsteps in the hallway and the door open and close, we would run but never could see anybody. after a while we just got used to it and stopped paying attention.
one more,
at work they filmed the movie "armored". one night of the producers was alone working in the same yard I saw the ghost. she saw this guy wearing a steel helmet just walking by her. she didnt pay attention untill she noticed that he had no legs. she could only see him from the knees up. she quit that night and refused to come back. the next day the company got the call asking who was playing jokes.

One night on Hokkaido I was watching a low line of clouds above me moving north with the prevailing breeze towards Siberia. Suddenly a small puff of cloud slips down out of the cloud mass and moves against the wind back the way the clouds were coming from just under the bottom of the clouds. I started thinking that would be a neat way for a UFO to hide in plain sight while monitoring the planet inside of the atmosphere. I was at the USAF Wakkanai radar and Russian radio chatter listening post, and military installations have had numerous reports of UFO since the 50s.

I periodically experience sleep paralysis. To those who have never encountered the "old hag sitting on your chest", it is the creepiest and scariest thing I have ever faced. When it happens, you are perfectly aware of where you are and that you're in bed asleep - not so much as an out of body experience, but you kind of see your surroundings through the cracks of your eyelids.
One time I felt like I was being drug off of my bed and clearly remembered hoping that I wouldn't wake my college roomate when I hit the floor - I woke up in the middle of the bed. Another time, I could feel the shadows closing in on me like a something was creeping up behind me. I struggled to wake myself and turn to the face the intruder, but finally there came a piercing pain in my neck. I gasped awake with my heart pounding, but the room was empty. During a third session, I actually dreamed I was back in my room at home when I was in fact in a hotel room with my family. I tried to fight some shadowy figure, but it threw me out into the hallway. I tried to bolt down the stairs, but the presence wrapped itself behind me and bit down on my neck. I woke my entire family up in that hotel room when I started trying to mumble and shake myself awake.
I can't say I have ever come across anything paranormal while awake, but sometimes sleeping is another story - shear terror!

Several years ago I saw a silver craft hovering in the sky. It was cigar shaped. It stayed in the same place for at least 15 minutes or longer. Was told it was a weather balloon but it looked nothing like a weather balloon. It looked nothing like a weather balloon and a weather balloon would not stay in one exact position for an extended time, they drift with the wind. Don't know of any military craft that looks cigar shaped and hovers in the sky for extended periods of time. This was before we had drones also. Have no idea what it was but several people saw it. It was an honest to god UFO. Have no idea if it was alien or not but it was very real and quite strange. Thats the only thing I can say I have ever seen that couldn't be explained. Coot

Ours was mid '70's I think. Western New York. South of Buffalo.
It was winter. One of those crisp clear nights. All the neighbor kids were in the back yard playing in the snow. Suddenly, we all stopped and looked to the sky. You could hear it. To this day I can't describe the sound. A low hum maybe? Looking north, just above the tree tops it seemed, moving precisely from west to east, a blue ball of light went by. We ran in the direction it went but it was gone. No flash, no explosion, nothing.
Strangest thing I ever saw in the sky until the mid 90's out west. In Nevada near Las Vegas. Not far away from a place well known for strange aerial sightings. But this was in the day time...

One night in the mid 80's my younger brother and I were playing in our driveway while waiting on my dad to return from a jog in the neighborhood. Shortly after he returned I heard him ask "what is that"? We looked up and witnessed a huge triangle shaped object above us moving from SW to NE . It had evenly spaced lights around it's perimeter, none of which I remember blinking. It was too dark out to judge it's altitude/speed but it made no sound. After it passed over we went inside and my dad called a local (Tampa) news station where they answered the phone by saying "are you calling about the UFO"? There was very little media coverage of the event, but I believe the final verdict was space trash. Yeah, OK.

Just one of those things, I guess.
whoa... noone ever asked deep questions like if he was stuck? etc? creepy... Only ever had a UFO experience personally whilst camping in the Canadian Rockies. At first we all thought the light in the sky was a satellite as it has a rigid path over the sky and was bright, not blinking. This was until of course a second light joined in parrallel with the first and even stranger was at one point crossing the sky, both lights, jagged erratically to the north, then back to the south before continuing west. Super strange and after the movements in parallel, i cannot concede that these were both satellites OR aircraft as the speed at which these lights moved across the sky was amazing...

:airplane: About 2AM one morning, back in middle 60's, i was flying a DC3 back from Jackson, Ms to Thomasville, Ga and one of those "spook" C-130, with the big strobe lights on the bottom to light up the ground for troops was training in South Ala, and they turned the darn lights on about 2,000 feet above me and i thought i had "flown" into the "twi-light zone, if anyone remembers what that movie was!

I was drinking a couple of beers last night getting ready for fso. I've been working 15 days straight so I looked forward to a break. around 7:30 or so, i went to get the mail. I saw my neighbor in the apartment in front of me, she's lived there for years I said hi and walked to my mail box and came back.
this morning I was talking to the apartment manager and she told me that my neighbor had died of cancer. I said wow, I just saw her last night. she said that cant be she's been dead for a month, her funeral was yesterday afternoon.

Working 15 days straight along with alcohol will do that to a person.

Back in early 90's I was at home in the back yard mucking about and looked over to the city (had an awesome view of Auckland from that house) and I saw this thing hovering over the harbour which had 5 big rectangular lights which were intermittently flashing in a sequence... .I thought hmmm what is that...as it was to far to distinguish clearly I ran through the house to my room where I had some binoculars but got there and it was gone...checked the papers and looked for any news of it but nothing...
Anyway 3 days later I was in the van with my old man and I decided to tell him my story...(now my old man is a skeptical salamander to say the least and he always got annoyed with my superior being stand point)...so anyway I start to tell him and when I'm finished he's like argh it was probably just a helicopter...Of course I am defending myself because the size of one light...even from the distance I saw it was pretty obvious it was bigger than a helicopter itself...
Now at this stage for some reason...I leaned forward and looked above me...have no idea why...but there it was....all you could really see was the lights...now I must say...this thing was about 50M above us with 5 huge rectangular lights (much like a pan fitting) yet emitted no light to the ground....
The old man did the same still driving as he thought I was all excrement and had a little poop....but in true dad style argh that's just a helicopter....Now I was fuming and said....no freaking way that is a helicopter... we were near home and instead of pulling into the driveway he drove down to the end of the cul-de-sac to have a better look we lost sight of it for 5-10 seconds due to trees... stopped and scanned the sky and nothing...gone...
still he goes on about this and that and I just said ok where did it go then?? they probably just turned the lights off
It wasn't till a few years later when I was once again talking about the superior beings that I found out...through my mum that the old man is a little freaked out by what he saw.... Of course like all good dads he stays staunch but It really did make his mind flip a bit....
Looked and looked but there was nothing noted anywhere about any kind of sightings...but yeah...there you go...a UFO ... have no idea what it was...and have never seem depictions of what I saw in other sighting types

Yeah, OK.
Like an open ended triangle of lights? If so exactly what I saw a few yea ago. Perimeter of lights, shaped like this <

In the mid 90's we camped at Gettysburg for the weekend with my Boy Scout Troop. McMillan Woods Youth Campground was the exact location.
I was probably 14 or so, maybe 1995/6? The campground bordered a wheat field, and that Friday night me and a few of my friends were walking the old rusty barbwire border of the campground and field. If it wasn't a full moon it was very close to it and very clear. Spots of fog were meandering through the field, very picturesque.
All of a sudden, while we we stared out into the field an object, completely silent flew within several feet of us. It looked like a cartoon swarm of bees, lots of little black dots, and was in the shape of a tear drop. It flew from left to right and dissapared, It was very close and very visible. I don't think it was very big, If I could guess it was no longer than 4 or 5 feet. Everyone of my friends saw it, some even took off running. I wasn't going to be the only one standing there so I ran too. lol.

If you mean open ended as in no lights at each of the three points, I can't remember. That was so long ago and I was only in my early teens at the time. I just remember the lights being evenly spaced or uniform in their placement. Surprisingly I don't think back on it much, but when I do it still blows my mind. The size of the object and the fact it made no sound rules out any military craft. Although, we were still in the middle of the cold war so who knows what we were working on at that time.

What you are describing is similar with"Mandela effect" conspiracy, this paranormal phenomen expoded after 2010, there are 1000s of reports and videos already on You Yube. "The term "Mandela Effect" was coined by self-described "paranormal consultant" Fiona Broome, who has written on her web site that she first became aware of the phenomenon after discovering that she shared a particular false memory — that South African human rights activist and president Nelson Mandela died in prison during the 1980s (he actually died in 2013) — with many other people. Then she began noticing other examples:"
You and the apartment manager could be living in alternate split reality; time travelers , surfing on a bent time space ripple side effect of CERN or quantum computing. According with quantum physics a particle can be in 2 places at once, and somehow communicate instantly, over infinite distance across space and time. Nothing is subject to chance, the reason we meet here on this game forums is because we share a pair of this quantum entangled particle. I read your post maybe because I have one particle in my brain connected with one in your brain and this 2 like to meet and communicate. In quantum computers they reach this stage through superconductivity supercooling to zero absolute , but in nature occurs on ambient tempeteture somehow.
My English is not good to writte all of this, but watch Georgie Rose, the creator of Dwaves, first quantum computer explaining the parallel realities @time 13.00.

This strange story appeares in news here, about mistery noises reported in Canadian Arctic, scaring the wildlide , they are sending military to investigate; the global warming hatches ancient frozen Godzila eggs . :uhoh
Interesting this article below, could be a Chinese sub looking for Northern Passage, They also have a strategy to keep sub in the Arctic and if they get into war with USA, to initiate a nuclear attack from North Pole area that will look like Russian strike, so both USA and Russia annihilate each other and they win ww3.
"Inuit hunters and members of the Canadian Rangers reported what they believed were foreign submarines checking out Canada’s Arctic territories. Many of the sightings took place near Pond Inlet on Baffin Island.
One sighting in particular was well-documented: an RCMP officer and several area residents saw an object just below the surface, producing a three-metre bow wave as it moved through the water. Several weeks later, a group of hunters saw the object again."
OMG, a swamp creature feeding on cooked spirits. :uhoh :bolt:
