Title: New Flight/Combat Sim

AH getting a bit long-in-the-tooth with no changes of gameplay or dynamics.  Came back for three weeks, deleted account. No discernable changes other than the new/old graphics. LOL, let's see how long this lasts.

The only problem with game play is the players them selves. A gamers mentality to win the quickest easiest way. Gone are the strategys, tactics, planning, and execution of mission plans. Gone are the "fights" for territory.

Now either your on the attacking team which means your part of the horde to rush in and flatten everything including the hangers to circle while troops are sometimes brought in in a timely manor. Or your on the defending team, heavily out numbered and still all you do is chase guys as they dive bomb and circle through ack shooting the guns completely ignoring any fight  and concentrating on the "mission" of destroy everything. Until the hangers are down or 15 guys are vulching which when you switch to another field gives them the time to bring in troops.

Over and over again until boredom sets in and they go play another game.

Game play is affected by the limitations imposed on it from the owner.  This can be good or bad depending, but to say it is not a problem/solution is untrue.

ENY and side switch times. Both good things, but they need to go farther. Yesterday the Bish had a two to one advantage and rolled the map in hours. Mindineo was next and tho the numbers were lower (we lost about 50 players in the map switch) it was the Knights turn to have a two to one advantage and they rolled that map in hours. It shouldn't be that easy to roll maps.

I say we add a deathstar like object that roams around the fighter town at 10k.   

To win the war  you have to get 20 guys all shooting at it at anyone time.   The opposing teams compete for the airspace around it. 

When a team gets 19 players nearby the deathstar blasts them all down and the fight carries on for eternity.   :airplane:

There has been many suggestions posted here on the boards. Localized ENY, zone base strat, specialized base percentages to win the war per map (smaller map, need larger percentage, large map need smaller percentage) Maps should last one or two days. They should never be able to be won in a few hours or take longer than the two days to move on to that next one.

Put a cap on how many resupplies can be run to a town. 5 drops max, after that you have to defend in a plane or GV or lose the base.  That would give the defending team time to organize a defense, but not totally halt any chance the base being captured due to continual resupply.

Im sure there are many more things HTC could do to put the fight back into this game instead of the melted down version we have now where it is horde/roll base after base with 2x the numbers over the foes.

I think this is a key issue in how this game progresses and although the OP may be fishing the truth is there are many out there who are feeling and acting the same.

For me, this game is behind in the graphics department but the graphics are ok, they are very playable and making them into something like DCS 2 is not required.

This game is a long way ahead in gameplay.  Hang on, it WAS a long way ahead in gameplay.  In fact it was the most fun WW2 based air combat game out there, and I think it still is.

The problem is it is becoming less and less fun and cause of that I am seriously looking at the competition.  BOS is not for me, ROF is not for me.  DCS might be, it is next on my list to try properly.

Why is AH becoming less fun?  Ask 100 people and you will get 150 answers.  My opinion is there is too much running, too much use of GVs, a lack of players willing to make it fun for all rather than just them, a gaming rule subset that appears to make it harder to find an air fight.

Most of these are player based and not owner based.  No matter what HTC does, you cannot force a hit and run type player to take a risk and force a situation, they will always hit and run.  Bores me enough to not bother but that is not the fault of HTC
