Another knight and I tailed bish buffs with a spitfire escort hitting our cv. They ducked into a cloud bank as they made their way back to base. We went under the clouds then followed their relative heading, then climbed into the clouds. When popped out above the clouds they were at our 12 o'clock and above us. The spit made a slow left turn and I got on his low six and shot his wing off. Then my fellow knight tore into the bombers.
Great to see clouds working their way into the game. Love the tension of going. In and out of them.

We actually used the clouds once in FSO to get our Stukas to target, a squad of P40's went within 3K of us without seeing us.
Clouds are cool.

I hate them. They prevented me from killing someone who deserved it.
If it's not one kind of puffy it's another. :joystick: :furious

Can you still see them while both of you are in the clouds if you get close enough? Like back in the day?
Just wondering

Cloud fights are very cool.
:D

My system is on the lower end so they just make me lose frames. Look good and are cool I just need to upgrade.

I've used clouds a few times to re gain some E and positioning it works wonders. :)

Very immersing, very life like. A good job done on the clouds, I wish we had more.
WW2OL chased away their entire air game by installing a cloud layer at 200' above the entire map of Europe. It was one of the biggest boondoggles Ive ever seen in gaming. AH has very realistic looking clouds.

I like the clouds. They seem to be very much like what you hear the old fighter pilots talk about. Ducking into and out of clouds, trying to guess where some one is going to come out of the clouds after you chased them into them. It adds a whole new element to the fight.
My system is very much an older system, (e8400 wolfdale, 8 GB ddr2 ram, a 6GB ddr5 1060 vid card and a couple of raptor hdd's. Granted the video card is new but everything else isn't.) and it seems to handle the clouds pretty well.

For sure, even with the icons in AH the clouds diminish line of sights with an enemy.

The clouds create a tactical component that "coming out of the sun" should do.
Joe Foss told me once about getting his wildcat caught in an updraft when his flight went into a thunderhead. Complete loss of control of his a/c, and it popped him out at 25k. It would be fun to have the occasional thunderhead in the game!

DX9 - GTX760
Graphics - default-gamma 1.5, shadows\reflections off, Post Lighting on - only AA on.
Do you mean cloud systems like this? I have a full terrain weather system on my new terrain. All Ports\strats have a permanent 7000ft cloud cover along with some other targets. HQ\city\strat complex permanent 18,000ft cover. All water ways have a 2000ft base cover to make it harder to find the CV task groups and the new Battle ship task groups. You may or may not be able to see them at long range by accident anymore. The permanent cloud covers are to make laser guided bombing from alt to hide from combat a roll of the dice on showing up when there is a random break in the clouds. Everyone is free to bomb in the open air under the cloud layer for that laser guided precision.
Shots from a port.

I like the clouds a lot! Adds a new element to the SA factor and it is fun to use it as a tactical measure like Mutha said!

Cloud cover while lining up on a Bomb run in B17 is awesome :)
And ack popping around you is very good.

I used the clouds Friday night to lose a Pesky F4U that was diving on me. :airplane:

I had a cloud server long before they were called cloud servers.

would be nice to have a puffy overcast deck to fly into and out of, with the sunrise reflecting off the top and kinda dark underneath.
and a good fog deck roaming around.
or thunderheads popping up and rising over the fight.
:x
more real stuff to help me shake that boggy on my 6. :joystick:

Bustr, how can I manipulate my Alt/Speed display like you did?

bust wrote on another thread:
In the clipboard go to GUI, then the HUD alt\speed box will darken and can be dragged with your mouse down onto your gunsight. You can see how I placed it in this screen shot.

Bustr, since it is in the GUI, does stay for all planes or do you have to do each individual plane, like you do with gun sights and views? Just curious...just now noticed it

It's a global setting just like where you put the clipboard or your radio buffer.

You can move all the windows (damage list, hud, the ctrl + I readings, name of person keyed up, ect.) on the screen. Just pull up what you want to move before you go into the GUI settings. The only thing that I have found that you can't move is the R for recording.
