I would like to see landing craft added to the came for the island maps to go along with the cv fleets to act and spawn points for gv's on the island maps. I have a photo of one but cant get it to up load for some reason.
-
we cant see files on your computer. you have to upload them to a server and share the link for us to see them.

:aok
+1
would like to be able to beach a LST, deploy a tank, wirble and M3, and cause havok!
I would also like to see the ME 323 added to the game. It was a cargo plane that carried vehicles and troops.
Imagine what the 49's could do with that!

Absolutely not

Awww, we all know anyone with a mouse can press a button. It takes at least a week to figure out how not to auger on takeoff and kill shoot yourself in the air before running into Joachim. Seems push button ground games is all many have the patience for anymore. :joystick: piu, piu, piiiuuuuu, poig, piuuuuusieskapowwweeeeiiii... . :ahand :airplane:<---Joa looking for victims.
Joa you would make millions if you could distill yourself down into a consumable snake oil. I'd pay to watch that flimflam show.

+1 to dive bombing landing craft as GVs pour out

It would be interesting.

Oh dear god :rofl :rofl :rofl

Get shot down easily, like the really life 323? I am all for this so long as you get a kills for the pilot and all the GVs inside. You would be a sitting duck in this thing :aok

No LST would land while the beach was still contested.
Too big and soft to land while under enemy fire.
They used LCT's for that. Landing Craft Tank.
MK1 = 4 vehicles, MK2 = 6, MK3 = 8, or MK4 = 12.
They were steel not wood, and open, so the Vehicles could
fire their weapons from the craft as it approached the beach.
It was fitted with 2x20mm Oerlikons for AA. Also mounted
heavy batteries of Barrage rockets!
The Brits and Canadians used them at Dieppe to land
the Churchill tanks under heavy fire. They made it to
the beach OK. Tanks just couldn't get over the sea wall.
So, say AH3 introduced a MK2, that would carry 6 vehicles?
Load it with 2 Wirbelwinds and 4 tanks. Giving 10x 20mms, :D
With the fleet close at hand to give puffy ack cover?
I think they would do very well!
-
Unlike ww2, we here in AH3 will show up with lancs, B17, B29, B24, B26, A20 and jabo loaded with 1000lb to shut down something this vulnerably exposed on a beach. The dinner bell will ring and you will be able to see the free kill lunch sign responded to by watching radar. Inland GV spawns work because at most the attackers dribble in creating a fun stalemate for the defending GV's until some dorks use bombers and tank killers to shut down the fun. This will cause a feeding frenzy competing for the free kills parked all over the exposed beach.
In the WW2 landings did the Germans show up with an air armada like we will in AH3 loaded with bombs to swamp the beach in demolition? Even with 5inch guns and auto ack from the task force, we wipe out LVT and PT boats more often than defended feilds are taken in the game.
-
LCT won't be sitting on the beach for long. Just long enough for the 6 vehicles to drive down the ramp. Then it would back out and go back to the ship to land, preferably in an LSD well deck. An LCT isn't an LVT or a PT boat, just a bit more substantial, LOL!
Park the BB equipped invasion fleet offshore, with some good 5in gunners and that would get REAL costly to fly bombers in there. I don't think it would be easy at all, somebody would be rackin em up!
Hell, throw me in that briar patch, sounds like a blast!

Try that scenario again but, with how AH players actually play this game versus your fantasy's about well organized WW2 simms. The more complex Hitech makes something the less players will use it the way he envisioned or, use it at all because it takes too much time and effort to accomplish anything. The core driving factor of how the MA is leveraged 99% of the time is self serving disorganization and greifing others. It just looks like anyone is organized and playing together since everyone knows the spawns are where GV's are and the darbar in a sector with a flashing airfield, red plane icons in the dar circle, will have red cons to shoot at. So everyone will eventually show up to shoot at things and just happen to look like an air force or a GV assault team.
You can't even get players to agree on who will steer the CV most of the time when it really counts. And anyone giving orders from the CV on how to be organized is squelched or ignored. Landing craft for GV's will attract people who want an easy kill\greifing session against well meaning organization admirals. Hitech can put this in the game, it won't make AH stop being keystone cops are us with an unlimited supply of 1000lb bombs.
You still have yet to see how battleship task groups will work out with our ranks of keystone cop arm chair admirals who will whizz it out loudly in public over who is driving the boat.

Well Bustr, maybe you look at the game that way, or play that way.
But I can't believe that that the whole population plays like a Gaggle of Fubar.
I'll find some people to work with, coop to achieve whatever chosen objective.
If not, then I will just bag the whole mess and move on to something else.

I've been playing this game since April of 2002, that's how they play it. The game is designed to make every capture able field it's own tiny war. It can take place between 1 guy defending and 1 guy attacking up to the full population of the two countries. This allows others to find their own fun at some other mini war location if they don't like your idea of fun at that location. That is why the big picture you need to be a reality so bad is an illusion. It's just a bunch of guys picking the smorgasbord currently laid out on the map at any given moment to go pick or grief someone for their own investment of $14.95.
Squads give the illusion of an organized "something" because any group of friends will go somewhere and have fun together. Missions do not mean there is anything organized as a driving force in a country. It just meant the guy posting it up had a high name recognition value with other guys in his country which attracted unaffiliated stragglers to join in for the fun. That's how the hoards got born because it was a safe way to play the game by hiding in a large group of players going to the same location. For a time hoard missions defined the game along with the expected outcome that a large group of people can smash and grab a base easier than a handful wandering in onesy twosy.
If you have been expecting this game to simulate WW2 and all of your structured and ordered fantasies about WW2 games, you will be waiting until you are too old to care about online games of any kind. This game is designed to create opportunities to simulate combat using WW2 rides like a bunch of millionaires playing air-combat with restored P51s with lasers in the gun tubes. We just all happen to show up at the same places on the map to go piu, piu, piu at guys with red icons.
-
:rofl I don't expect any of the "structured ww2 fantasies" drivel you just wrote.
I see many references to how the game is stagnating, player numbers are down, people are leaving, difficult to find new players, blah blah! After reading your posts, I can understand why.
I guess trying to coordinate with other players in pursuit of a common goal is just not worthwhile in this game, even frowned upon as foolish? And I guess there isn't much hope of any more interesting and exciting game dynamics being added in the future? Ah, I see, that explains a lot, I will be sure to keep these things in mind.
Well congratulations bustr
The more I read of your game commentary, the less interest I have in the game. :aok
The old saying comes to mind, "With friends like you, who needs enemies?" eh.
Hell, it's no skin off my nose, there is always something else to do. :salute

If you need a structured WW2 simm, why are you not taking part in FSO and the special events which are highly structured simulations of WW2 air battles? The main Arena or now the Melee Arena has always been an open world "free for all". The different generations of players over 15 years made it into many things because that was what made them happy during those years. At no time did Hitech step in and force them into a structured WW2 simulation world which was the secret of why this game has been here since 1999. Instead he provided them with the tools and the arenas to create their own voluntary structured WW2 simulation world aside from the open world main arena.
In the main arena your landing craft for GV's will become a giant dinner bell and get blown to heck because of the nature of that arena. If Hitech decides the main arena needs a new dinner bell to be blown to heck, so be it. That is how the game has operated since the beginning. You are obviously not very experienced with this game and the MA to how such a vulnerable target will be treated. Still the bomber guys need something to slaughter.
