I get alot of screen freezes like every couple minutes , using dx11... /
Is there a solution for this ?
-
Try dx9, it has helped some.
The frequency is kind of alarming, though.
-
There are a few hundred variables which seem to be involved in this. For instance, I cannot, for the life of me, make my computer freeze/pause with the DX11 version. Others get it every 2 seconds. There is no rhyme or reason for it.

actually i started out with Dx9 and it freezes more often in Dx9 then 11 ,thats was the main reason why I switch to D11.
I diabled the vsync...seems to help a lil also helps a lil with rubber bullet issue...
-
If you are getting freezing/pauses/stutters in DX9, then something else is going on with the computer. Usually it means the CPU is being taken away from running the game by another process, or the computer is running out of some resource.
Running with vertical sync disabled will cause other problems.
-
I noticed that the screen freezes don't effect the FPS counter (cntrl-I). Maybe the issue/code that causes it is outside of that context?
-
If the CPU is being taken away from running the game, then the FPS counters cannot be calculated, nor updated.
-
VR-DX11 has zero screen freezes. When i run dx11 regular ah screen freezes are quite common.
-
Here is a .dmp file that I had found in the HTC temp folder of a dump that occurred yesterday..................
Hope this helps.

Didn't mean CPU contexts, I meant coding (Probably got the wrong term).
I noticed that when I alt-tab in and out of the game, the FPS seems to fluctuate from about 74+ (above V-sync) back to 60.
-
Skuzzy,
Is there a DX11 version of the game sans VR coding to see if VR is causing this for the none-VR players?

Please post those in the Bug forum.

Yes, we know. but there are different manifestations all being treated like they are the same one and they are not.
No one has been able to reliably duplicate the one we are looking for and not all computers do it. HiTech has never had the issue on his system, nor have I (home or work).
All we know for certain is it has something to do with DX11, as other games have had the same problem, but others do not.

I download gamebooster from razor and it help alot, now freezing only happens once every 20mins or so... (probably one of the background apps. running was main cause of it happening so often but did not waste time on checking investigating which one)
-
I can log in, but that's all.
If I do something, it freezes and kick me off line --> Host connection lost.
No matter DX9 or DX11.
So cant play at all. Or can if you count you sitting in tower and not turning your head.
-
Sounds like a bad network connection or a computer running out of resources. A DXDIAG output would help.
-
Ping told me that its solid 146 - 150 ms and no packetloss. About 2 Min's running.
Till last Friday may I7 CPU, 12G ram and GF1060 was running 59 -60 fps in any situation.
-
Just thinking back, I do not think I have ever had a freeze in straight level flight. Diving seems to increase the chances of a dx11 freeze.

A DXDIAG output might help, especially if it is a Windows 10 computer. Speaking of which, has yours gotten the recent major update? A lot of problem reports on it.

No, win 7 64 bit machine.
It was that skin downloader.
You have mail and pic in support box.
-
That is interesting. The background skin downloader should not hurt performance that much. I really would like to see a DXDIAG output of that computer. If you do not want to post it, then would you mind emailing it?

Done.
Sorry for the mistake.

Never happend before this.

Again, no one has been able to reliably reproduce the problem. Having a system randomly doing it is not going to help. We need to be able to reproduce it, at will.

does the film viewer show the same pauses that we are seeing in game?
I can definitely get one of the micro freeze in DX11 because that DOES happen every sortie.
bustr made an interesting point about the nvidia shadowplay presenting planes behaving the way they should rather than the spinning out bug. I've been trying to get a good film of it but haven't been able to get on much and when I have the stick stirrers seem to have gone into hiding!

I have not seen a film which showed the pause.
-
It is quite possible that it doesn't show up on films.
-
I get micro freezes with DX9 which seem to be related to operations that alter "static" conditions: roll out of "auto-level", switch view from "front", trigger bomb release, etc.

That is a different issue unrelated to the DX11 freezes.
Sounds like you might be taxing your hardware resources a bit. A DXDIAG output might reveal something.
-
It doesn't seem like a hardware issue since it only happens occasionally.
DxDiag attached.
-
If that DXDIAG was run after a fresh boot of the computer, then you have a significant number of background processes running. Is the Superfetch service enabled? That certainly would cause stutters in the game, but then a number of things would.
How many background processes are running on that computer? Should be around 35 to 38.
Also note, if you are not expecting audio from television speakers over the HDMI connection to the television, then you need to disable the NVidia audio driver. It can cause some things to become unstable.
-
Ok. Got rid of some processes, but it is still around 50.
Disabled the Nvidia sound driver and got rid of the "Experience".
Will see how it goes. Thanks!
