Title: Regarding nugetx's complaint of fighting a Me262 in a Spit I not being fun...

It reminded me of something I had way back when I was a kid. Now it's true, no one would think match up of the Spitfire MkI against a Me262 would be fun. Or would they? Apparently the plastic model company Revell thought it was a good matchup. I submit exhibit A (one of the first model kits I bought):

Crazy huh? This match up problem existed even before there were computer games! Of course, as a kid I didn't know any better and I'm sure in my dogfights the Spit always sent the 262 down in flames. Here's a couple more kits I owned as a kid, also from Revell's "Fighting Deuces" series (each kit contained parts for both aircraft pictured, but these are more evenly matched fighting pairs):
Boy, that brings back memories of a simpler time! But its a lot more fun the way we play nowadays.
For those of you old enough to remember, here are the other "Deuces" kits I found, reflecting Revell's idea of a good match-up. I really enjoyed the box art:
Classic.. Argh..feeling old..i feel the nostalgia..we had airfix.. Heated up compass to make bullet holes lol Arrr...the good ole days..
Magnifying glass and sun for bullet holes. :aok

Cheap Black Cat bottle rocket taped near engine, lit and let her go....engine fire with smoke and stippling. Magnifying glass worked too. Just had to make sure it didnt melt too much. Only matchup modle kit I built was Mig and F-16. Yup, right after Iron Eagle :old:

I actually play the IRON EAGLE soundtrack in the background a lot. The Basil Poledouris complete score limited edition CD, not the one they released with just the rock stuff.

AHHH Revell the best model company in the world, built many a model from them thru the years.
I was always a Monogram guy myself if I was forced to choose. But I've probably built more from Revel than all others combined. They certainly had a wide selection.
