Funny and serious in the same post.
So I had just dumped 18,000lbs of eggs from my trusty Lanc on Nit Refinery and declared my appreciation of my work to all the gathered Bish who cared to read.
Retort : You should be hitting Rook.
Response: Well we all need to get the nits out of our hair from time to time (words to that effect and mighty humorous of me at 10am (Aussie time 10pm USA) after a pretty heavy night night celebrating a 6:0 win for Man City)
Retort: Listen to the noob thinking he knows (something like that)
Response: Who's the noob? Me? nah I been playing since 2000
Retrort: Must have used a different name then
Response: No always been me
Retort: Must be lying cos I never heard of ya
Response: Never heard of you either Ace
Fizzled out at that point.
So as I've played this game off and on since 2000, might even be 1999, being called a NOOB is like getting ID checked at the liquor store, at my age :old: you can only smile and wonder at the IQ of the questioner.
On a more serious note the guy in question ( no names no pack drill) seems entitled enough to want me to play the game his way and also seems to think accusations of lying are okay as well, simply because he has never seen me on line when he is logged in. Why oh why do people playing, and I emphasis playing, online games feel that everyone should play it like they want to play it.
It is a game, enjoy it doing your thing, if others decide to join your way of playing that's great, if they don't then maybe they are quite happy enjoying the way they chose to play the game. Don't rant at them and make them feel about as welcome as a turd in a swimming pool.
Anyway to the hero who called me a noob, you're welcome sonny, now toddle off as mommy is calling you.

You bombed a refinery. That's all the proof you need.

Though I've done it, I like to pork fuel but I never get a chance to do it...not sure it even hurts anyone. Back in Air Warrior it would hurt your fuel quality, which made it a great target.

I know. The Shame. I even upped a 190 (shudders) to defend a field.
I AM NEWB :D

What were the effects? Lower horsepower?

I've been playing this game with this ID since 2001 and people still go "FORK - are you THIS guy?" or "FORK - THAT'S AN UNUSUAL NAME" said some guy named Arlo (chump). :neener:
I've been 'Fork' since 2001 (being Brandor and Vruth before). The way I look at it - if you can fly 'under the radar' and not be notorious, you're kinda winning too. No expectations of performance - successful expectations of game playing met! :aok
-
I like pounding down the refinery and then hitting the fuel tanks at the me163 field while an epic bomber mission is headed inbound at high altitude.
-
Noob.......Newb.
-
I seriously can't believe you think you can come back in here and do your own thing like that..... sheesh...what a noob
-
What were the effects? Lower horsepower?
Yep, though it was fairly random. Sometimes when spawning a new aircraft it would start off with a smoking engine and the reduced power was noticeable as far as I remember. Most times ending flight and spawning out again cured it though.

I was called a nob once..
Do I need to extend more to be a nooob
-
I think it was because you were wearing sandles with socks while in bombers :old:

Pipz says you wear a sparkled unicorn speedo w/ crocs when you fly. Don't judge

I am not being judgmental it was a observation :)

Once?

Pathetic.
You guys that called him out really need to think about what you are doing. I know, we are having some fun with this thread but I'm ashamed our community has treated whom we thought was a new player this way.
HiTech is in the midst of a push to get new players, to make the game better, to make the game more fun. I read a Steam review that mentioned how inviting the players were to a new guy. That's what we want. That will make a difference for the good.
If you're not the kind of guy that wants to be helpful that's OK. Don't be a jerk, keep your mouth shut.
:airplane:

You smell

If only that was his worse trait.

Actually its only a sparkled speedo...only becomes a unicorn speedo when he gets excited

Unicorns are a myth like the US landing on the moon :old:

You should have read the patch-notes from recently, like 6 or 7 patches back, they limited fuel porking to 75%. With it, hitting the fuel factories introduced a patch or two later doesn't make much sense anyway. It was a fairly recent change though, so you might have missed it. Not reading patch notes of course qualifies as being a noob.

Do what it is that you enjoy. Hell with the rest of em. <S> Brudda

Oh how I miss those days. I remember being 11 years old porking the airfield fuel from 20k with F6F, and having ours porked, then being on runway with a quarter tank lol

Eww, Man City.

what sort of person likes a picture like that?
-
The refinery is there for a reason, someone has to bomb it. I do not understand why it does not play a bigger part in the game. Remember the refinery at Ploesti.
To bomb or not to bomb, that is the question.
-

Not sure who likes to look at it. With that being said I put that screen saver on my co workers computer every time he has a day off. He makes him very uncomfortable and I'm a jerk so it works lol.

I do not understand why it does not play a bigger part in the game.
Mostly because very, very few people in the history of the game have said, "Gee, you know what I wish? I wish I could log into the game and only be able to take 25% fuel."
It's not fun if it has a larger impact on the game.
As far as unicorn guy, there are some odd, odd people out there.
Becinhu- Reminds me of when one of my coworkers was leaving the company we did a bunch of stuff to his office on the last day. It was my task to find him an appropriate picture for his screensaver... After I found one, I thought, "Waitaminute... He only has to look at one picture. I had to look at many!" :)
