Title: Better findability on google
Post by: TWCAxew on March 15, 2018, 04:56:32 AM
Hiya!

I often navigate to our website trough google and what surprised me today when i typed Aces High into google we came up 6th instead of 3th. And that even after the aces high iromaidan youtube film and some huge *ss advertisement from a dutch company called Aces High Promotion (which is new). I think this is a serieus promotion issue.

I am not sure if this should be in the bug report/technical forum but my wish is that we come up as 1#. I just wanted to bring this under the attention of the Skuzz master <S>

I was always advised to type 'fly aces high' into the search.  It always comes up #1.

That's not the point. If i look up a game and its not 1# on google i start doubting the game/company. It demoralizes new players and returning ones that might just type in Aces High quickly to see if the game is still around.

Al tough your advise is appreciated <S>

to be fair to HTC searching "Aces High"  there are quite a few that would rank as more popular results, the film, the song, WW2 art business.

If you search Aces High 3   then it is the #1 result.

Also "aces high 2" is ranked #1

I just searched for 'aces high'.  AH3 came up second in the search results, with Iron Maidens' song 'Aces High' being first.
Considering that song was released in 1984 and that album has sold over 4.5 million copies, I would be surprised if Iron Maiden was not the first search result.
So I'd conclude that HiTech is doing pretty good for coming in second. (Actually was the first PC game result though.)  :)

Oké point taken. I am just reporting my observations.

I also do not expect that the iron maiden song would be below Aces High. Although I would expect our website to beat the other 5 websites. Maybe it's just my location..

+1 for me as well.

Google modifies your results from your own browsing and search history.

SEO should be for "multiplayer flight sim" and other combinations thereof.. not "Aces High"

Really?  I used Edge for the first time on my search.  So I had no cookies..

How about https? Search engines start to prefer this. Even most hobbyist websites are using https these days. Forum login credentials via http isn't state of the are anymore.

Is this directed at me? I am just saying when i type in Aces High we are sixth in the list order, apparently my location has something to do with it. I am not complaining about the comments i get.

But again, "Aces High" the games name should be high up. These should be considered proper key words and its o so important for advertisement.

It is just a fact that i wanted to share with HTC so they could consider what to do about it, if they choose to take no action that's fine with me as well.
