Title: I'm being evicted - so I need you guys to come through for me

I've got 60 days to get out! Out of the trailer park. :(
So I'm coming up with a list of my living amenity requirements and will post them here. You guys will have 30 days to come up with suitable arrangements for me. At the end of the 30 days I will select one lucky member to fulfill my living requirement needs.

If this isn't some sort of troll you're one incredibly self righteous person. Asking for someone to GIVE you a place to live because YOU got evicted and having REQUIREMENTS LMAO!!! :rofl

this thread reminds me of the local Facebook group where people constantly ask who's got the best tacos. well it depends on your taste, for some taco bell is the bomb, for others a greasy taco full of processed cheese could be it. and some are in the middle.
so go out and try a few places and decide on your own.

today I've got a map of about 30 trailer parks to go visit.
I have a 39 foot trailer and my fist option is to find a spot for it. If that fails, my second option is to buy or rent a manufactured home. Third option is an apartment. First and second option will be pretty expensive and all of the options are a crap shoot on availability.
I've left messages with real estate agents and they don't even call back. And I'm prequalified and ready to buy. That's frustrating.
I've found that so far, actually hitting the ground and finding actual people in these parks is really the only way to get any leads or information at all.
I found one park on the next block. A few spaces opened but they refuse to rent because they got screwed on the covid restrictions on evicting people who don't pay. I don't blame them. This state is so screwed up. Almost as bad as Texas is ugly. :D

What makes you think that? If you're thinking because I'm trans - well, no one ever suspects that. I pass 100 percent as a woman. A decent looking woman too.
No, they are not renting to anyone. Other parks in the neighborhood that I visited over the weekend are evicting everyone too.
At one large place I went to yesterday, I saw eviction noticers and a lot of empty spaces where mobile homes were just recently pulled out. They have trash (couches, personal junk) all over the empty lots - I assume people are just leaving that stuff for the new owners to clean out.
I saw one guy at his car and got out to speak to him. He said every place but the houses had to be out. There are actual houses in there too,. He said he had to be out that day.
The place that's not renting is doing so because the owner had to eat the rent cost for so many people during the covid eviction moratorium. After that ended, he had to spend months and 50k to get one guy out.
I was going to buy a manufactured home, but after I see what's happening to other parks, I'm not going to risk that. These places are on very valuable land - and real estate investment groups seem to be snapping them up.

The housing situation is very, very tight in southern California.
There's really no open spaces to put a trailer. They get snapped up instantly. If I move outside if the main areas and go to say, past Riverside or up into San Bertnardino, then maybe I could buy a piece of land to put this on - which is the smartest thing to do. However, then I'd have a 2 hour drive each way to work.
A lot of people I know do buy outside of the populated areas and do drive 2 hours to work. I drive 15 minutes to work.
I've found a nice guest house close by and spoke to the woman last night. I'm going to try to meet her today. It's brand new, modern, has it's own parking and private.
Still - I want to first try to get my trailer somewhere. It's nice inside. I love it. But I have to secure something pretty quickly.

I doubt local ordinances would allow you to use a haven trailer as a full-time dwelling on its own lot. You can't here.

This caught me at a relatively bad time. I had been looking at properties in other states but now this is going to suck my savings out of me and probably a good chunk of my earnings for a little while.
I have a good job here and I do like it here a lot. But I want to have my own land

That's true, although I found some nice places that I could buy right here in california. Up in the mountains. But then I would pretty much have to work from home or be retired because I'm not driving 2 hours to go to work each day.
I lived in Arizona most of my life and I like Arizona a lot.
No offense to anyone but Florida is the number one last place I would ever live and Texas is a second. It's simply because of the weather and because in my opinion those places are very ugly and sparse looking.

don't try san Bernardino, people here are renting rooms for 600 bucks. you may be able to find a mobile home but I kind of doubt it. I just got on a list for senior apartments, May take years before they call me.

I never buy them, I can make them at home for less. I buy carnitas, tripas, or chicharones. there's a place nearby that sells a 2lb chicharone burrito that will cleanse your colon. only 8 bucks. it's good.

It makes sense for me if they're planning on selling the place. All I know is they've got three or four lots sitting open and they're not going to rent them to anybody. I sent my neighbors over there too. They have smaller trailers than me that would fit in most of those lots and they got the same answer.
Other trailer parks around the neighborhood I went to one that has eviction notices. So I'm not even sure if it's a good idea to get into a trailer park right now anyway.
I'm on my way to meet a lady to look at her guest house. She likes me and I like her just by speaking on the phone. It's a real pretty place and it's private so that might be good.
And as far as the trailer park goes, people look at me and they see a fairly attractive woman. They don't see a transsexual. Nobody ever does and nobody ever knows unless I would tell them and I don't tell anybody except for my friends

I think that what the owner is thinking is that he doesn't want to rent to more people because he said that he wouldn't be able to evict them. I was speaking with the manager though not the owner. She was saying that the covid moratorium doesn't end until next year and that the owner refuses to rent any of the lots. I can imagine that he thinks he would get people that would move in there and use the electricity or whatever and then he couldn't get them out.
But that's just what she said. At the picnic.
I would like to hear anybody's theories as to why they wouldn't rent those places. But sure as hell they are just sitting there and not being rented when people are being evicted about a block away from a huge trailer park plus our trailer park that is right on the next block as well..

My job is here and honestly I cannot stand the weather in texas. I like the politics but I cannot stand the weather or even the scenery there.
Whatever I have is going to be a transition place until I can save to buy some land somewhere.

I mentioned that I pass as a woman here in this thread because I think Semp and maybe others are implying that no one will rent to me because I'm trans. And I'm telling you, nobody knows.
I paid for everything myself and still do. And by the way, "everything" is simply the hormones I still buy on the internet from a foreign country with a subscription.
I have had no surgeries. By big 36D's are completely from hormones. I hit the genetic lottery on that.
I can't think of any handout I've ever taken from the government.

I have traveled extensively in well over 35 states. Texas lists number 34 out of 35 states I would ever visit again for anything other than to make money. The people of texas show a Hideous lack of respect for municipal, environmental and economic stewardship. It's a barren wasteland, and the only areas that have decent fishing gear are also polluted to the tips. Fuk Texas and fuk the Texans that have fukd that natural beauty up. North Carolina on the other hand. Them is some hillbillys with party hills and half the ego.

Forget the weather and landscape…I’d entertain the idea of living there for more $.
However, I have close family in Beaumont/Houston and DFW, and have been there enough times to know I’m no fan and wouldn’t grow on me. My drives on I-40 impressed me none either.
From a social standpoint I agree with the majority of there morals, values etc, until you get into the problem of population centers dictating what small towns/rural folk have to do. Same as I know farmers and ranchers in Colorado that wish they were part of KS or NE.
AZ is starting to resemble all of that too, no wonder my gut hurts all the time…
Celebrities have ruined most of the Rocky Mtn states with their ‘look at us, we have a big ranch in MT, WY, or CO. Idaho is next probably :( Dang blasted :furious A River Runs Through It.
Good luck in your search Gina. If you’re considering moving back here I’d do it soon; I know snowbirds who recently sold their mobile homes because of rents going up in Mesa and Gilbert. A friend pays $1800 a month for 2 bedroom Apt in Gilbert (Higley off the 60). Their rent has gone up both of the last two annual leases.

Wow. That's crazy about the prices in those areas in Arizona. I remember when Gilbert and Chandler were mostly cotton farms and very rural. Same with Litchfield park. Those area were considered out in the sticks.
Arizona is still great. I lived in north Phoenix most of my life. I loved that area. But Phoenix is getting so crowded and the building has never stopped since the mid 70's. It just keeps getting bigger and the city just keeps expanding and taking over the desert. Very pretty and clean though in most areas.
California has some great areas. Even very affordable areas but I have my job in Cypress and for now I need to stick around this area. If I have to get an apartment I might just get one in San Pedro, Long Beach or another beach area and get something with an ocean view.
I am very tempted to get up in the mountains - like Running Springs/ Lake Arrowhead or down in Silverado Canyon. If I do that I'll have a very nice, peaceful place to live for awhile, but I'll also have a 60 mile drive.

Texas has all kinds of weather.
I have lived in every state in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. I have lived in Canada, Mexico and South America ( Venezuela). I never travel out of Texas any more. Love it here.
As I am posting this, I am in the Texas Hill Country. We are camped in our RV on the Guadalupe River. Yall have fun.... we are.

Since I contacted somebody about a manufactured home on Zillow, now I'm getting notifications from them.
I got a notification today that there's been a big price drop on one of the houses. Now it's down to about a million five.

Grew up Northern VA, lived in Tampa for 20 years, lived in SW VA the last 27 or so. Outside of where I live NOW, only other place might be mountains of NC (where I'll be this weekend) or Idaho. Could certainly never live in a metropolitan area again, I like target shooting off the porch....keeps sales people away too

Rot you should come see where I live now. About 40 miles West of Waco, 1/4 mile from the lake, the town has maybe 3 stop lights, a nice little community of homes that surround an RV park. Granted the RV park aint that great and they've basically changed it from a 'vacation rental' place to a full time squat ground. Most of the people are pretty decent but they aren't invested in the property and the management turns a blind eye to the agreed upon rules between the homeowners and the park. Other than that it's quiet, chill, and an 8' fence around the back yard gives me all the privacy I need where if I don't want to see a human but once a week maybe it's all good. I do have some friends here but they're not the types that you go over to their place and hang out and vice versa which is just the way I like it.
Granted it was HOT all August (100+ every day almost all month) but now we're in Sept and the temps are coming down, the fall rain is starting, and it's going to cool off soon.

I have lived in every state in the US except Alaska and Hawaii. I have lived in Canada, Mexico and South America ( Venezuela). I never travel out of Texas any more. Love it here.
As I am posting this, I am in the Texas Hill Country. We are camped in our RV on the Guadalupe River. Yall have fun.... we are.

every day I search.
last night when I got home I searched online and found an available spot on craigslist. The filters are very wonky on CL. I was playing with very specific word phrasing and found one ad that was posted two days ago. It didn't otherwise show up under the housing section. I'm hoping they still have it.
What a wakeup call this is. I've been living in VERY expensive area and only paying 385 a moth in rent for 15 years. It helped me through some very hard times - when I didn't even have 20 bucks in the bank. I always was saved somehow. Well, by the grace of God. God has always provided for me and I trust that.
But I should have been saving more. I did save money and I didn't spend on too many crazy things, but I thought I had all the time in the world. I even thought that I could retire here.
Now I see what other people here are dealing with. Unbearably expensive housing. It's sad how some people are living. It's sad seeing the ads of people who are searching for a room. They post their pictures and are hoping someone will help them out.
Maybe this is just a strange bubble right now. The moratorium on evictions due to covid have ended and lots of people are being evicted. Landlords need to recover from huge losses of carrying the burden.
It's a mess right now. The housing situation.
I've never lived in an apartment. I moved out when I was 18 and had roommates in a townhouse as my first place. We quickly moved into a 4 bedroom house that 4 friends rented for 500 a month.
When I was 23 or so I rented my own three bedroom house with my younger brother. He got the master bedroom with it's own bathroom and I got the two rooms. I used one for my band room. We ended up buying that house.
I've owned three houses. Two at one time.
When I moved back to California was in the housing bubble crash. I bought this trailer and moved out here because my dad was begging me to come work for him to take over the business. I packed my dog and whatever would fit into my F-250 and moved here.
I never gave a thought about housing before in my life., Everything had always been affordable and easy to get.
Now. Wow. I mean it is insane. There's no way you're going to get a house out here that's under 1 million. Well, maybe some dump for 500k.

It's not just California.
It's relatively higher here for sure, but Arizona is the same on a little smaller scale. I love Arizona.
Houses in outlying areas are affordable here, but 6o miles away means a two hour drive each way.
Like I said, this is wakeup call for me. I'm going to more seriously plan my options now. I'll get some property and change jobs if I have to.

Milo, You are not pointing out the ‘why’, you are pointing out the result or consequences of a multitude and culmination of things.
Sorry Gina, but even once loathed Utah (by many Cali’s) is getting really expensive too. I left Colorado in 2002 for my home state and town here and those fleeing CA for such reasons was more than well under way then in AZ & CO. Many things verboten to get into led to it simmering down and now it’s full steam again…hope you find a solution.

You need to go to a place where no one wants to be.
Otherwise, you're going to find exorbitant prices.
As RotBaron points out, the various causes of something like a one car garage selling as a home for $1 million can be discussed and debated but cannot be avoided. It's happened and it's the situation you have to deal with out there. In a way it reminds me of a Ponzi scheme; sooner or later someone gets left holding the bag.
That's why people are fleeing the high cost of living states.
So get on out into the great beyond. You have marketable skills that will ensure you a stable lifestyle wherever you go. Saddle up and ride!

Sorry, I've been going through a crazy mess trying to save my parents home, which is scheduled to be Auctioned off September 7th at 11:30am next week
But am fighting with everything I can to get it pulled down and stopped....things are in the process and looking better for me...but all.the Attorneys and court battles just about got me locked up because that last hearing I was over talking the judge, the Attorneys and my older sister....damn judge threatened me 3 or so times with content before my Sis spoke up and got me calmed down a bit
I talked to Dale and told him that I would be coming to visit soon, 🤣 ...nah seriously we talked hehe
Best of luck to you....but I can relate to the anxiety and stress that this is putting on you 🙃....I am going through it myself....I just have finally found the way through this mess...

If I can't stop the auction ... I will either take my chainsaws and drop 3 huge trees on the house or I will be standing at the steps outside the courthouse right when the auction starts and will do what I have to even if it kills me PERIOD! and yes I will have my sidearm on me in the open

It's just before 6:00 and I'm in bed. I took a 1/4 size dose of my marijuana chocolate bar. Washed my face and put my hair up. Got into a comfy big t-shirt and I am relaxed..
I'm looking forward to going to see my dad and all the guys at the shop that I used to work with.
I'll get up at 4:30 in the morning and have a nice breakfast with coffee and then I'll head over to my dad's about 6:30. He's about a mile away. I love those guys that I worked with. They are like family to me and they're so good to me.
Like I said earlier I was crying a little bit off and on today but I couldn't pinpoint a reason. One thing was my brother.
My younger brother has only 10% kidney function now and he's on a donor list and it's going to have to be on dialysis pretty soon. So I had a very vivid and strange dream about him last night that was very disturbing.
When I was about 20 years old and my brother was about 17 we rented a pretty nice house together. I lived with him for years. I was thinking about the old times. It's very sad how times change and you can never go back.
I guess I was feeling nostalgic and also feeling the effects of this underlying stress I have about my situation right now. I'm just exhausted I think.
So I went to a printer repair today and just by chance two of the guys I work with were there working on a different printer together. So they cheered me up a lot and bought me lunch.
I know so many great people. Just really good people that are in my life. I'm blessed.

Got some news today that we no longer are being evicted. I'm not sure what the situation is - but I heard from two different neighbors that the property management was going to notify us that we no longer have to go. Not sure for how long or anything. Someone went in to pay their rent yesterday and the told him .
I was at my dad's shop today when I got the news and now I feel SO relieved. Especially for my neighbors - who I was very worried would haver no place to go.
So thank God. :)

I got a pleasant surprise this morning!
A knock on my door - and the new owner, Mike, introduced himself. He came inside and I signed a new lease. We are not getting kicked out! He raised the rent 50 dollars a month and said I can stay as long as I want.
So relieved. And SO glad I didn't panic and jump off into an apartment - and I almost did do that.
He seems like a really great guy too.
So all is good! What a relief!
What a wakeup call too. Now I am going to be focused on buying my own land and preparing for that.

I know of a fellow in Texas who lives near a pile of rocks on a large plot of undeveloped land where he runs five businesses. Perhaps one hand could wash the other, and you could help him with his businesses in exchange for a sharecropper plot of land where you could set up your trailer. I hear the s***mart down the road may be hiring as well. It is a desolate & depressing place however, right smack in the middle of the Commancheria. He is also quite disagreeable.
