Just stop.
It’s really getting annoying and the payback for isn’t any fun either, is it?
Thank you.
That is all.
Carry on.
:salute
You know what you did if you played rook or Bish yesterday and for that matter the last week.
Do you like having to resupp ords or HQ…?

The beatings will continue.

I have no idea what you are referring to. :headscratch:
It’s a secret. He’d have to keel you if he told you.
-
My guess is fin3time had things to do yesterday so instead of playing the game all day he just went on a number of depot porking runs to just make it a pain in the butt to either suffer with huge down times, or having to make a crap load of supply runs while he was away taking care of real life stuff.
-
Sounds like he was doing exactly what Hitech designed the bombers in AH to be able to do.
You could always just shoot him down.
-
As mentioned. Its wise to watch where buffs start and you know they are going to 30k, meet them half way and shoot them. Just because no one makes an effort, doesn’t mean they should not do it. I’ve been on both sides of that spectrum. Except in AW I’d take the whole squad, dump HQ and then fighters drop to deck to kill anything standing or moving while buffs flew home. Same as a scenario. I always watch buffs coming from rear bases. Gotta be proactive.
-
Okay, so knits are not allowed to do the same what others are doing to them. That's very logical. Of course they have to stop it, if it makes someone feel bad. Knits just to sit and watch while their strats are mauled and apologize, if autogun shoots someone down. This is The Way...

Does this come from the 2 gang bang tribes of pound one country to bits, Hordes who HO every single flight, pick the already distracted already in a fight, then claim to be aces.... and then complain that they get ya back? dunno, just wondering. I dunno what country the poster is from, but if that's it,.. I can't hear you.

It was Pizza map and with the ammo strat less than 25 miles from a friendly airfield I had no choice but to suppress the Bishops ords for the day :rock
Im not sure why im getting called out here but hey I will own it :aok

Lol
Yes to some of the suspicions and no to others.
First I’m almost always Knights so it wasn’t FineTime doing anything. Also it wasn’t just Pizza map, it was also Oceania prior and even more the last couple weeks if not months. The gang bang to the point of having ~45% of your bases makes fights difficult to find or even start.
Yeas whine, cry, yah yah. When you see players logging because of this stuff MAYBE the complainants are quite appropriate.
What was discussed on country because this keeps happening as often as it is, ONE solution is to pork your ords and even HQ to the point of silliness. If that sounds like a consequence you’ll enjoy because you enjoy the 2v1 hording, then remember this was the REACTION.
-
The 2v1 at times doesn’t bother nor others much, it becomes very different when it’s sustained and continues on to the next map after a win/reset.
2-3 bases after 20% is a comfortable cushion, 8-12 is concerted effort to ________?
-
Well, what I have noticed, most of the new maps start with mauling of knits strats.
Its wise to watch where buffs start and you know they are going to 30k, meet them half way and shoot them.
Not so long time ago I did this. Took heavily armed fiffer, fuel for couple of hours, climbed next to the moon and started patrolling between our strats and con bases.
As radar bar grew bigger, they regularly disappeared off map, to the world of Gods (picture shows me peeping after them) and were flying there back and forth, up and down. Couple of brave ones then descended from stratosphere and sneaked in trying to do it NOE. And ditched, when saw me approaching.
If they knew it's me, they would have stayed and fought, perhaps, knowing my non-existing gunnery skills but I had no big name sign hanging from the plane. I promise to put it there next time.

This is something that honestly needs to be adjusted. I've honestly thought there should be un-capturable bases closer to the fronts as well. I think this would cater to some of the furball type pilots while not taking away from the base-takers.

Ndisles map for sure. Just make them un-capturable. Seems with that map, once those bases are gone, the fights go away rather quickly. But some of the best overall action has been with all three countries together there.
-
I think 2 country gang bangs should be undoable, then we wouldn’t have paybacks are M***** F****er convos. So what they are really asking for is no retributions for bad acts.
Quite frankly? After 6 weeks of 2 countries gang banging knits to nothing every weekend, some prolly like Fin3time didn’t listen to me asking to dump both HQs, or I missed it.
I think things are just fine as is. We wouldn’t get those changes anyway
-
Bottom line Rotbaron is right. There is NEVER any justification for any country taking more than 30% of another country. The sad part is, all 3 countries do it. I mostly fly Bishop, if it happens with the Bishops when I'm logged on, I try to go to the other country.
Hitech needs to update ENY to address this for the offending country.

Well, what was it 2 weekends ago both rooks and bish took about 30% each, we had 1-2 bases left, cpl factories and HQ. We upped into 5 or 7-1 gang bangs. If a crowd doesn’t like FT dumping HQs they should ask themselves why. So if I sound unsympathetic there is reason. 6 weekends in a row is well beyond ridiculous. That said, that I know of no tweaks are being done. So asking a gaming community to mind their manners is fubar. Knowing this reality leaves us with shaming as our only tool. FT could do it everyday if he chose to, but he uses restraint and usually only does it when one (or both) of the other countries gets out of hand. They’ve both been out of hand until the last weekend. If HT doesn’t tweak it then I have no complaints about paybacks. I guess when it comes down to it, I’m not listening well to those who got their fingers sliced sfter taking our legs off repeatedly. <shrug> :)

Wow. The biggest squads full of pickers and now 2 country gangbangs. Guess I'm not missing much lolz.

I agree with this 100% unfortunately human nature takes over like a horse with the bit in his mouth....... you just cant stop them. Easiest fix, Hitech needs to look the captures at 30%. Once a country grabs 30% of another country the rest of the bases cant be captured by that country.

I agree with both of yas, but also the human nature part.
Great idea. I’ll zip it on my thoughts

Every change has it's unintended consequences, I'd love to see a break down of how a change would result, and after a competent debate we all have a nice adult beverage(18yr&above) and consider soberly the options. Is it just boredom with current system. Didn't we use to have base order of capture?

Yep, as soon as we talk changing settings we get into wack a mole. But I do think a keash is needed.
That said, the arenas reset in a defense to the idea.
I kinda go full circle if its not changed,…expect harsh repercussions on 2 country gang bangs. The lesson may have been learned. We are pretty much governing ourselves. <shrug>
But I am up for cocktails and slurring ideas into the abyss. :)

I could see that. As long as they don't have a gv spawn out of them, it could be a good idea.

In the past I seem remember Hitech saying uncapturable bases would interfere with the win-the-war logic. So I expect that would take a non-trivial change to the code to make work.
So in your logic, country A might not be able to capture any more bases from country B, while country B can still capture bases from country A?
Put it up in the Wishlist see if he bites.

Yes, you would capture a base and it would put arrows on the map pointing from the base you captured to the available bases you could move on to. I think it lasted a tour or two but thats it Lusche would probably have written down the dates it was active.
I think it was too restricting taking away any chance of surprise of where the next attack was going to be. With the current system......is it really a system or just a "herd mentality" driving the action, nobody wants to break the rhythm of the run. Everyones working together so dont mess with it!
As mentioned above, a lock down when a country hit 30% of another countries bases they cant take any more would work. My idea of locking the captures at two until that team takes at least one base from the other team would ensure no long periods of time were one team is getting ganged until 30% rule kicks in. Countries would jump back and forth from front to front to continue to move toward the win.
-
My idea of locking the captures at two until that team takes at least one base from the other team would ensure no long periods of time were one team is getting ganged until 30% rule kicks in
What does that mean?
So your not opposed to 2 side ganging then. It's a numbers game. I think your Idea supports field progression for concentrating combat. Several possibilities can occur. Country A & country B takes 30% of Country C. Country A & C fight B, B has numbers to fight both. Or B with numbers "conspire"with C, what then. Only thing gained is option of base to attack. Side numbers make the difference. With ENY and limited base capture paths, could not a smaller force hold? Stacked GV's bombers and fighters vying for 1 or 2 bases sound like a consolidated combat setup. Then that opens up the strategic bombers to weaken front. Granted I prefer a fighter/furball scenario, so I might be missing the bigger picture.
-
OR
As I understand it, when one country captures a % of another it can cause reset>?
How about how much is left of a country to cause reset?
This is a loophole that allowed two countries to beat one to dust, without causing a reset, so they could both beat it more (split the %). That was WELL beyond 30% it was 90% gone. This took planning on both sides. Hence, ya lost your HQ, more than once. what they WANT is to change things so they can do crap like that over and over with no repercussions from the victims. Always read an idea 5 times. Ya lost your HQ for a very good reason, and if I had my way, I'd taken both out. <shrug> Dirt gets dirt. That's life.
And here we are looking at a loophole and wack-a-mole. The herd mentality, OR the Gamer mentality vs the Simmer mentality. It's a teeter-totter. Please Simmers here the Gamers cry there, please Gamers the Simmers cry, now everyone is crying. Ya get a different issues depending on who you listen too. This is part of why game companies take suggestions with a huge boulder of salt. After 100k times it gets harder to get their attention, it's exhausting and time consuming.
Settings in a game IS a science, and rarely answers exist, there should never be haste. It must be small and seriously well thought out before even presenting it.
I always looked at game, communities etc.. as biospheres. Just do one thing a little wrong and the whole thing starts dying. Kid gloves. Humans are so damn reactionary to small beans.

In my idea, Bish capture 2 knight bases. They are now locked out on any more captures of Knight bases until they capture one Rook base to then again unlock the Knight front. If the bish continue to attack Rook bases they will only be allowed to capture 1 more base (making 2 in a row) before they are locked out from capturing Rook bases until they capture another Knight base.
In this scenario there is a continual switch from front to front so no country is just rolling along while the other 2 countries fight on the other front. It moves the action around giving all side a reason to fight the other teams. A flat setting of say stop captures once your country has 30% could push out a country for hours with a double team, but at least that could give the crushed team time to recover once the teams turn to fight each other.
Basically what both sytems do is to curb "human nature" in that once they get rolling they just never stop.
-
This is a loophole that allowed two countries to beat one to dust, without causing a reset, so they could both beat it more (split the %).
Poland 1939. Germany did most of the job in west and Russians rolled in from east, when Polish army was practically defeated.
Something like that might help. 2 or 3 base limit or some other restriction. As greedy minds cannot be controlled, some other method is needed.

Personally I dont care what happens. If there are no fights for me Ill jump in a buff and hit some towns and stuff. Maybe it will start a fight, maybe it wont. Either way my bombing scores look great and chicks dig that.
What does bother me is some peoples thinking. As RotBaron said....

One point hes talking about his teammates loggin off due to this stuff and then he finishes with a plan to cause issue for another team which will then log off
Yup that will make it more fun for everyone. Like Hitech said years ago, "adapt".

I knew there was a reason they were digging me lately!
I do the same thing for the same results. Bombing strats is fun. Maybe if people tried to expand their plane set they would have more fun and “find a fight” more often.
Most people who can’t seem to find fights are only looking to dogfight. Lots of ways to play this game.

Slippin into darkness
During the massive gang bang 2 weeks ago I watched 12 people log off within 20-30min. It continued and I followed. So the little gamer stunt made for some poor impressions.
There was absolutely nothing good that came of it.
So as I say, and evidently not alone, Retributions will be in order, and thats war,….as the victims adapt to dweebery. Sad part is, these aren’t ignant newbies.
Resets are aspirin, not the cure. Its war.
Edit: an extreme would be, if i can’t get decent flights in on prime time weekends 6 weeks in,… weeks,…why am I playing? Had another guy who hasn’t been playing say “if that’s going on I’m not missing anything. And this is why its stupid, not that my butt got hurt, the game gets hurt.
Thise gang bangs happened through coordination, 6 weeks is not a fluke, its intensionally planned between two countries.
No settings will change, but HQs will dump <shrug> its adapting. < runs>
-
Kinda if a shame I don’t have my squad anymore. I wouldn’t bother asking Fin3time to do it, I’d just roll in with two 30k formations and escorts, dump both HQs and hold them both down all weekend. Pipe dreams, lol.
Good settings ideas, but in court HT defense would be Adapt, Reset. (Guessing)

Idea is tempting, but normally not enough manpower to do that..
Back in the day, didn’t worry about it, I had my own man power.. This is not back in the day. That was a long time ago now. Ha! Prolly would only last 1 full day. Thats enough to make a point.
While I agree with some ideas, there can be unpredictable consequences with settings. Look what happened when new radar came into play. Sometimes thinking outside the box is a better fit. Frontline battles can have limitations. 7-8 pilots sticking to precise plans can change dynamics of the war of the day.
Last night I flew solo B-17s for the first time in over a decade. I went after Ammo, didn’t make it by 5k, but it drew 6-7 off the frontline to come after me. It seems to me many players are comfortable in the box. If the frontline was too heavy I just go up snd over. and rock their world.
Knits have a problem of being too scattered. But when we get 7-8 guys together and focus we cayse some harsh damage. We can take 3-5 bases in an hour..
All my opinion, but to beat good ideas ya have to have better countering ideas. Ya gotta out think the enemy. When you’re scattered its because ya have no plan. Do something badars, their butts will follow. That said, hordes are breakable, ya won’t do it strictly on frontlines.

I think the best example if settings not goin over as well us when I redesigned the damage model in AW. No one tasked me to do it, I just found a weak point and went after it.
AW was nit originally surface strikes, 3D was not that advanced in the beginning. It was a Hit Bubble, and to get different results was a randomizer for end results. Ss long as you hit that invisible bubble you got some damage or kill.
It took me weeks and endless testing to change that to a much more realistic model. The Full Realism guys who I’ll refer to as simmers, and AW staff loved it and decided we had to use it. So to further test the reaction of the masses we put in in both Relaxed Realism who I refer to as gamers and in FR arenas. It was a little harder to get kills, because now you got proper damage over just straight kills. I got “thata boy” “ awesome”
It went over real well in FR, it was a must have to them. RR loved it too, for about a week or less. And then RR rebelled, because they had to be more precise to get a kill. Then they revolted. We took it out of RR and just left it in FR and/or scenarios.
Point being, a great change got rejected by the bigger RR crowd. They didn’t love more reality, go figure.
Point being, it all looked good on paper. Sometimes what they said they wanted wasn’t what they wanted after tasting it. All that barking was for nawt by the RR/Gamer tribes.
While I think these are great ideas that COULD have positive results, I’m also onboard with HT in try adapting first. There are infinite ways to play this sim, only a few are tapped into. Once you make a setting change, no matter how much they ask for it, it has possibilities of not turning out as planned. If that happens the biosphere gets ill. After several failed settings, one will tend to stay in the safe zone. After the population loss several years ago, you’re not quick to make changes. Try to adapt first, prove adapting failed.
There are a few here who can backup my story.
I don’t know everything, I don’t have all the answers, I’m not going to change the world, just speaking strictly from my own experiences.

So, bishops are allowed to be awake and others not at that time and somehow early hours at US forces gangbanging against knits? Okay, there is logic for sure, it just does not open to a stupid European like me.

You can just ignore the Bish and go fight on the other front. There was a small fight in the south 63-64 maybe?
You do you, you dont have to head into the typhoon everytime you log on.

Ya, but thats a different tribe than prime time. Little resistance.

Currently, its 20 vs 10 vs 4. Its the same medium-sized squad that causes the imbalance problem, every day. If this squad would switch to the low side right now, for example, it would change the balance to 14-10-10. Not perfect, but much better.
Its their subscription $$ though, they can play the game how they like. Seems to me they prefer working together in an almost PvE environment rather than PvP. That said, I'm sure its fun to be part of a dominant squad that rolls the map regularly.

I was alone against rooks at SE while 2 others tried to stop bish herd in W. It's really like we are Poland, Bishs German and Rooks Russia 1939. Quite often.
-
How about almost noon? Almost no bish/rook action...
The bish swarm reset the map around 9am...
I can recall the days when players with integrity would basically attack the side that just won (as retribution for winning)... now it's just the weaksauce rooks riding bish coattails on a daily basis.

Sounds like he was doing exactly what Hitech designed the bombers in AH to be able to do.
You could always just shoot him down.
He is not doing what the designers of the game intended. he is flying multiple bomber sets at high altitudes and wreaking havoc a single player. The game did not intend to have one player shutdown and entire base and flatten town in one minute. The game did not have snap rolling b17s in mind as is was not historical. in short what fine time aka cheater is doing is “gaming the game” why? Based on his attitude, to pi$$ people off and make their life literally, incidentally the thing that motivates most hackers/cheaters. No with almost no fighter experience he is landing three kills in a LA-7 not the most accurate guns in the game. His insane accuracy in platform guns, NATO armor, seems peculure.
-
Sure is nice to know there's no cheaters in AH3!
You would think with a game this old there would be at least an aimbot or something like that.
Probably just a coincidence:

Most common cause of death is nowadays a loss of life.

He is not doing what the designers of the game intended. he is flying multiple bomber sets at high altitudes and wreaking havoc a single player.
First, this turned out not to be the OP's issue so it is moot. Second, I have to assume HTC, at this late stage, knows he runs multiple accounts. Is there a user agreement rule he is violating? As long as he has them on the same side, I can see no problem. How is it different than him and his grandson sitting in his office running two sets together? If anything, that is a lot to juggle so it has to make him more vulnerable than a single pilot on each.
If he is running them on different countries to spy, report that with film and that is probably a violation.
The game did not intend to have one player shutdown and entire base and flatten town in one minute.
Hitech and the map designers decided upon the object hardness values and damage multipliers set in the map config. If you feel those values are in error, I'd suggest a post in the Wishlist forum suggesting alternate values for them to consider.
If you go up and shoot him down, that will be harder for him to do.
The game did not have snap rolling b17s in mind as is was not historical.
Finetime did not write the flight model. If you feel the flight model is in error, I suggest submitting a post in the bugs forum with a recording demonstrating the error. Finetime is free to fly the current flight model provided anyway he pleases without your permission. He can fly all his sorties upside down if he wishes.
in short what fine time aka cheater is doing is “gaming the game” why?
There is no such thing. The game is the game. And it is a game.
If you feel there are bugs, report them.
If you feel the flight modeled needs to be improved, or hardness values adjusted, post a wishlist.

No with almost no fighter experience he is landing three kills in a LA-7 not the most accurate guns in the game. His insane accuracy in platform guns, NATO armor, seems peculure.
There is a posted user agreement of behavior and mods. If he is in violation of the user agreement report with film to HTC and Hitech will review the incident. Or just call him and state your case.
If you have suspicions that he has hacked the client then submit that PM to Hitech with film evidence and he will review the incident. Or just call him and state your case.
-
AW was exactly the same in early hours, its kinda silly to base a game on morning antics. Its a time most likely where younger players are, or from other countries. Best judgement if a game is prime time.
Want more morning players? Advertise. Some of those complaining play another sim with virtually no fights. So it can always be worse.

The last scenario I was in, a lot of people had second accounts that they were using as scout planes.
How is that different from that this merv the perv dude is doing?

I use my accounts on the same country. It is no different than if 2 people were playing on the same team.
:ahand
The reason it has been made such an issue is because im just dominant at times. Its a stupid argument poeple are making against the way I play. Hate to play this card but Dale is in full agreement with me on this.
"They hate us cause they aint us..." :x
Now I would like to know how you came into such knowledge that you stated above. About the only way I can wrap my head to what you said is if you were in direct contact with cheaters who either told you or were open about their activities. Seems to me you are aiding and abetting known cheaters by not directly reporting it to HTC. On top of that your throwing shade my way in an attempt to get the attention on someone like me who isnt cheating to any degree yet uses multiple accounts.
Ive often wondered what kind of a mind it takes to come up with the BS folks like you do. Only way I see it is yall cant fathom not cheating if you had another account because yall are fighter based players. I get it but you broadcast just how ignorant and degenerate you are and oblivious that others see that.
Sit down RichardDarkwood :rofl Your relevance to this game is based on your long standing reputation amongst a group of players I regularly shoot down..... at least the ones still around anyways :neener:

I took it as scout planes on the same side. Of course Scenarios can have additional rules the Melee doesn't. That's up to the CM, but it seems the same as you running two sets of bombers on the same side.

HA!
I have a blast following Merv around the game. Always action.
Face it, this guy is highly skilled in his craft.
A lot of accusations on various subjects; why is that the first thought on top of YOUR head. Think about it a lot?
I’ve yet to see ANY evidence of true cheating.
How can any credibility be given to someone who sells other games on this bbs, and knocking this one. All the ehile they can’t really seem to leave this one? This is mental mush stuff.

They are on these boards. And know who they are. And I never said they was on opposite countries you assumed that.

So the same thing continues. I’m not sure what changed, yes it’s always been this way BUT not to this degree. Logged out today at 330pm Central time, both sides R/B had been hording for 4 solid hours. The last half hour Bish started on Rooks as they only needed one more Knight base.
We now have a player that admittedly only fights against Knights with a significant amount of his effort to keep Knight strats down so that either Bish or Rook win. He is now congratulated by Bish announcing his damage to Knight strats. I can remember when this behavior would have been shamed beyond recognition, sigh,I know whine whine cry.
This 💩 attitude is not helping this community.

Seems that the attitude has definitely changed over time. Some of the biggest and most active squads specializing in picking is an example.

I haven't been so long time in AH but have noticed the same. Looks like there's lots of hatred against knights and it shows many ways. Like, bunch of fighters, instead of defending base under heavy pressure, rush after a bomber who has already dropped and runs back home. Just to get a kill. Bunch of fighters doing the same for a fighter, which gets engine oiled because of flak hit, just to get a kill. Losing base means nothing to them as they know two sided hording will take it back, only killing a knight counts.
I was in yesterday eastern EU time 22:00-24:00 and numbers were pretty equal, but again, no action between rooks and bish. Both attacking knights. Of course, it was again just a coincidence. Lame heroes but that's human nature in many cases.
-
Aye. The thing that I noticed a lot of was:
You get tangled up in a fun 1vs1, going round and round. You end up on the deck in a stall fight, barely getting angles. They guy you're fighting has friends approaching but might still have time to win this.
Suddenly a friendly pony appears! He will engage the approaching enemy fighters. You are saved! WRONG! He dives and shoots the guy that you were stallfighting on the deck and proceeds to extend for a sector while the enemy fighters show up and shoot you down since you are now low and slow.
Some call this "skill" and "SA" Whatever you call it it seems to be much more common then it used to be.

Gunfighter mentality?
Always a need to beat the best?
When knits get focused they can take a lot of land very quickly.
The byproduct of constant gang bang of HOing, Running for cover, picking distracted pilots?
It makes them very good pilots and precise quick land grabbers. They actually train knits. Then once it gies 1-1, its easy kill time. SA and ACM is popping?
Its takes both countries to beat knits. At least the prime time shift.

Ha!
So many variables and human nature.
Not everyone plays at the same level. Some are aces some are newer. Such a mixed bag.
Frankly, and I’m sure many can verify, I usually end up 5-1 for the reason you stated. I drag 5-7 all over the place. I will also i tensionally drag em to the deck. I’m going to due because I won’t run. Why? Because points aren’t my goal. :)
When one
stops thinking of points they tend to think more strategically.
>>IMO<<
Points have pros and cons, and both keep people playing.
Said it 100 times. Heard all this stuff all through AW and AH. Its nothing new. Almost every complaint on this bbs, I heard 30 yrs ago, 20k times.
Its the nature of the beast in this style of flying.
Passion = hook in mouth

That is true for Rooks and Bishops also.
I initially look at 2 things when I log on;
1. Who is closest to rolling the map.
2. Who has the most of our bases.
That pretty much determines which front I go to.

My default is to hit nit because (and I'm not mad at all at them because of it) when I log on in the early morning (US time) they've usually run a sizeable percentage of undefended bishop and/or rook bases. It's simply a function of the numbers that time of day. Even if the tide is successfully turned, if the map isn't won at some point during the day by someone else, they will likely win early the next day. There are also a couple of nit players I don't like very much, that certainly helps lol.
All three sides get double-teamed on occasion, but the nits more often than bish or rook, at least lately. Might be coincidence, but this trend seems to me to have begun a little after finetime and clone made it a habit to take HQs down? That might have something to do with it.
A bigger issue is simply the reaction when the nit numbers half after the Aussies go to bed. "Let's get our bases back!" is the thought, and once the other teams start having success against the team that so recently dominated them, the feeding frenzy builds upon itself.

IMO, you're spot on here. Neither Bish nor Rooks are going to post here and admit it. Like some do in politics, they try to equalize things to make them sound the same across the board, to minimize the real issue.
Fact is, they gang-bang Knits, more often than not, and then complain because they had to eat their own meds. They had to eat their own meds and so they do it again to retaliate against paybacks. It's clearly a consorted effort between the two countries. 6 weeks in a row is not equal, it's not even close.
And then The morning shift comes in to take it all back and make them eat their meds again.
Another point, it's not just a gang-bang it's a LOT of 20k, every one of them will HO you every time, and if you do get into a fight, another will come snap you while you're distracted in a fight. It's really just a real POS way to play. And these are not newbies. Many of those trying to make it appear equal because they are part of it.
OTOH, If they are not gang-banging they only fight each other. There is NO medium.
I don't want to hear the whining about HQs. If that's the punishment, then take it, they brought it on themselves. Like I said before. if I had the man power I'd take both of their HQs down and then slaughter what could fly.
I've set up my own rules,.. HOed 3-4 times in a row,.. Log-off....which actually plays to their benefit, but, if it's not fun it's not fun.
We have people who do nothing but HOs, and then once in a real 1-1 they run like hell to their friends.
IMO the conclusion is, Knits are just better pilots and that's the others way of wining against them.
A lot of these guys who have high scores, get there by picking already distracted pilots, they are not 1-1 fights. Another reason I pay no attention to points, how they are acquired is what speaks for them.
That said, lets not conflate morning shift with prime-time shift, two different crowds.
It's a game
It's a War
a lot of dweebery will happen, and does.
it is what it is, they will simply excuse their way out of it. <shrug>

And I don't want to hear the whining about the doubleteam. If that's your punishment for taking down HQs, you brought on yourselves lol.
One of the contentions of my post is that the HQ crew helped lead to the current preference to attack the knights. The HQ focus predates the nit focus.

Huge amounts of fun is to be had defending your HQ and even a blind man can track a hq run.
If i return, expect tons of action at rear fields.
You might even have a successful me163 mission.

Not sure what the issue is? Last night had great fights on all the fronts. When I hit on around 8PM EST, us Rooks were trying to close out the map up north, which had to be defended first because we were being attacked by Nits. Bosh were rolling is on the south side and we slowed that down but they kept coming steadily all night. When I left around 11PM we had I think 18% Not and couldn’t make any headway on the Bish.
Most of the strats were 100% for everyone expect a few and eny was pretty stable. The game worked exactly has it should in my opinion and and it was a good night.
Trying to finish off a country to win the map is hoarding or whatever the problem is.

Your view of what the fight was at 11pm is no way indicative of what those screen shots show and what the fights were from US AM till about 12 hours later. I was on early and nits were pushed back to their 8k base on the bish front, and practically to their strats on the rook front. This was 9am to about 1.
When I got back a few hours later it was the exact same and nits were losing any bases they managed to get back. That was till about 7:30. In that 10 to 11 hour window I was in and out watching and on only one base on the bish and rook front was flashing.
All sides are going to get hit with a double team, but you have to have your head in the sand to not notice it’s continuously the knits side that’s just getting pounded for hours on end like this.
-

Most of the knights usually just want to furball. So it is easy to take the knight bases first.
-

There are many knits who want to keep the bases and take new ones, but eternal double team hording, often knits with big underpower makes every action bit hard.
-
Nits were on the attack at two bases on that side. So because whatever was happening on your other front the Rooks were supposed to let the Nits take the bases?
The worked as designed for most of USA prime time and it was a lot of fun. I attacked and defense both sides. Even did a Bish strat run and had a three sector tangle with a 190 that was lots of fun. I’m also do one who flys and drives all of the games offerings. If more people did that there would be more action of sorts. I think a lot of these complaints come from those who are mostly A2A peeps.
To expect constant even action 24/7 is a tad disingenuous.

I'll reiterate. I think A reason (not the only reason) is that finetime and clone have taken HQs and ppl are unhappy about it. This predisposes them to hit nit. And once a team has to defend both fronts, things tend to snowball.
-
why cant we all just get along?!!

I thought I provided some good context to your pictures which look like right when I got on… what time were they snapped?
Between 7-7:30pm CST.
At the time it was taken, Bish were rolling bases with a horde in the north, Rooks were attacking us with two sectors of full dar bar, and there were no flashing bases and minimal dar on the Rook/Bish front. Knights were down to 59% of our bases and was about to lose another to the bish.
I upped three sorties and found myself fighting 3-4v1 every sortie on both fronts, then I logged. If I changed countries either direction, I would have been flying in a horde of green guys, which is also not fun.
-
It's just coincidence. Every day, every time. Or actually repeating historical event, called Molotov-Ribbentrop (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov%E2%80%93Ribbentrop_Pact). So how can we blame those, who just want the fight be historically accurate..?

lol no… I play the game all the ways it allows and don’t squeak about dying from a silly flak gun or claim the game is broken because I can’t bomb towns at will with no consequence of revival.
Probably one of the biggest proponents of the game inside and outside. What did you do today?
Expecting constant even action 24/7 is just ludicrous. The complaints are tired.

You're reaching in your gatekeeping of weaksauce.

So your saying that the Knights are fighting on 2 front with less than 19 vs 10. So lets say 15 vs 10 due to "minimal bish/rook action". So we are talking 5 on the rook front, 10 on the Bish front. If you can all work together fight the Bish (10 vs 10). If you have a few off doing their own thing, fight the Rooks (5 vs 5).
Other than low numbers, whats the problem?
-
Those idle people aren't as idle as you think. Plus the number were even more lopsided when the bish horde was in full swing.
Here's a screenie taken 5 mins prior to the one I posted. You can do the maths again 19 vs 10 came from 23 v 10.
Hosting site went down but the numbers were:
B 18/15
K 14/10
R 13/8

The irony of the screenshots is it says “side balancing ENABLED” lol
50% of your bases makes for boring game play with the exception of getting to fly Komets close to the front. I wish they had just a few more minutes of fuel, dog fighting in them is blast. Getting shot down by another ftr makes someone feel like royalty 😂
-

Some say it's the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pack. Meaning, bish and rooks concentrate on knits w/o fighting each others.

And as a Knight, I would still say "Whats the problem?" I would rather be fighting on two fronts than seeing Rooks and Bish having big dar bars and nothing vs the knights. I have been stuck in that version many a time as well.
I usually only get to fly one night a week so I take what I can get. If everyone is off fighting on the other side of the map, I help roll bases on my side. If we are getting ganged on both fronts I help defend bases. Either way I try to have fun.

It's that dang simple...it's a game, even if it is life for some. De-stress! Enjoy life and elevate your mind and soul  Most of all, have fun and enjoy everyone's company. That's why I love the AK, we rotate through all countries and enjoy all sides.
-
Only way to fix this is with smaller maps, tbh. Issue I see normally when I log in around 6pm est on weekdays is 2 sides fighting each other with big dars across the map, while the 3rd team is taking bases undefended. It seems like having fights on all fronts is a rarity. Apparently either both sides are attacking knights, or both sides are attacking Bish.
That's normally how I see it, but don't get to stay on long enough once the later evening crowd rolls in.

I love that map but the south west area is just too spread out. Wish it was all closer. That being said, there is certainly a dilemma happening where one side is getting double teamed. I was on the bish earlier and was surprised there was no knights fighting in the eastern sea. The big fight on the other side I couldn't get to. But not enough knits in the East sea to fight. So I decided not to roll.

Sounds like he was doing exactly what Hitech designed the bombers in AH to be able to do.
You could always just shoot him down.
"What Hitech designed bombers in AH to be able to do."
He is not following game design. This game and other games allow for co-op play. However, the design but has never accounted for one player being two people, the ultimate co-op. He is running two computers and two flight set ups and running two coordinated flights. When one isn't being attacked he is his own gunner in the other, then he switches to the other formation reversing rolls. Ever wonder why its always b-17s and B-24s. It allows him an extreme advantage over other players hence his bomber kill count, that and his lazer beam guns. Oh did I forget to mention his middle b-17 doing multiple snap rolls while the drones remain unmoving!
"Just Shoot him down."
That isn't so easy unless you position for a ho (the only way i attack any buff formation, the Germans figured that out 80 years ago. However, this often puts you in the sights of the other formation.
You cracked the case! I had a fun night. https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,409033.0.html (https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,409033.0.html)
44mins in and Bishops have 13% of Knights fields. 🤦♂️
This is, oh nvm :bhead

OMG !!!!! The knights won the war!!!!!!
-
Also in that pic Bishops are +10 players with Zero ENY/? How exactly does that work again?
If 10 extra players represents ~20% more and creates zero ENY then the system is pointless. Absolutely pointless.

Looks like the Knights took a few extra bases from the Rooks.....

Bet the Rooks try and crush the Knights on the next map.

And just look at that knit horde!!!
What can be construed from the image you posted? Rooks didn't defend? What were the Bish even doing?!?
Will Knits follow thru on Bish for the win? AK skwad night started and Bish got boosted to 55 players. 55B-44K-43R @ 8:45pm cst

It was like that when I logged on. Knights owned 50% of rook bases and the rook HQ was down. I called them out on it and logged. There needs to be a limit on how many bases you can own…like 25% or so. That gives enough cushion to push for the win on another front.
All weekend the bish were the ones being bullied. I finally switched back to knight last night just to start a fight on the knight/rook front.
-
Dominated Saturday, Sunday, And Monday.
2 map wins back to back both were large maps.
Over +100 bases in the past week. Easily +60 in the past 48hrs.
+200 kills on both accounts
11 strats runs
70% of enemy bases on Oceana
Knights as a team have been functioning superbly :salute
Highlight of the weekend was a snap roll ram in Lancs into Banshee7's Ho pass for the kill after dropping the final 2 vh at a vbase. Those bombs killed Goose in an F4U-A and a gv in the spawn hanger. Triple kills at 14k and at the base all in 5 seconds.
Controlling the flow of the MA is what I do. Absolutely cannot do it without the entire Knight country. Great Aces High still being had in 2024

Playing for the win and anticipating another rook bish double team on Knights I logged in around 11am CST to Rooks owning %15 of Knight bases. When I was finished they would need to capture 30% of their own bases to prevent me from winning the war. These werent undefended bases. Rooks did not give up until we captured 35% of their bases. Finished the campaign on Rook HQ because I dont get that opportunity on this map ever. All of this allowing Knights to focus primarily on Bishops for the remainder of the evening into the night. New map reset at Midnight my time and all is right in the world.
As far as the bish getting worked over Death to Bishlam :rock

The picture was "after the fact" (as posted in the quote below )and was mainly to point out that the Knights capture ridiculous percentage of bases as well as the other teams.

Weird… it thought I was the problem? Even with no bases or strats we did ok all things considered.
I like the chicken tender map too. Can’t explain why but it usually has some good skirmishes.

The last several nights, the prime time knits have been pulling out of gang banging and hit no fight zones to force the end of gang bangs, splitting up opposing forces away from a gang bang and into s new battle elsewhere.
We made this announcement on 200 Sunday night. Bish had taken enough gang bang on the north side of the map, so we’re going after Rooks in the south to force Rooks to pill out of their lust for gang bangs and defend southern bases. It worked. It worked last night too.
As mentioned we’re balancing out the map away from gang bangs. What happens before we log on is not us. We’re pulling our forces away from gang banging and starting new wars.
Yin and yang. Rooks have/had a habit of 1.5 dar bars at 20k in 109s HOing everyone, Finetime taking down factories, cities or HQs. Pick your poison.
Personally, I think 20k 109 HOing is poor sportsmanship more so than taking an HQ.
Finetime isn’t hitting the HQs in the country getting gang banged, he’s going after the bullies. And then we force them to fight a more equal battle elsewhere. Where they have no time to fly 20k hordes. By the time they get to 20k that base is ours.
If balancing out the map bothers some, I guess so be it. At some point yas got to eat your own meds, just with a different flavor. Then we eat our own meds for doing it.
If some are just going to sit there and make zero attempt to stop him then you suffer. Ya gotta get creative, more so than just HOing everyone as the easy route. Think.
As long as gang bangs are going on, even by our own earlier forces, we’re going to attempt to balance the map. Gang bangs make people log, balancing the maps keeps em fighting.
What we are doing is in good taste. Even if you don’t like the tactic. If Rooks (or Bish) keep being opportunist for gang banging then prepare for a strike. One way or another we’re going after that habit and give you a real challenge elsewhere
Its hard for me to side with those who gang bang any country. One night we after Rooks the next night we went after Bish. Its really not rotten game play. Yall just have negative habits being broken.
We don’t do it with coding, we do it with different tactics. IMO, thats how it should be done.
If Finetime were really a bad guy, he’d be dumping the HQ area of the gang banged country. The bad guys are the gang banging HO hordes. Take a drubbing for your cheap tactics. As long as we’re flying ruining the arena is going to be a chore. Get used to it.

TL;DNR - there's a big difference versus having enough numbers to have fun and push back (like your screenshot) and not having enough numbers to do much of anything (like the one I just posted: 8am 2/24 fairly representative.)
(https://i.postimg.cc/wxc9Gb87/ahss89a.png) (https://postimages.org/)
Here's more context for you to consider. Every.. every...every... morning, Bish have a significant numbers advantage that lasts for hours (7-8am cst until about 1pm cst.) They generally have more than both Knits and Rooks combined. And hit one front at a time with those overwhelming numbers, Sometimes Knits and Rooks will push back, but as often as not, Bish focus their butthurt on Knits and Rooks join in... until Bish, not always mind you, turn on Rooks and push for a win, often failing because they spent so much time on Knits and numbers start to shift in the afternoon.
This is what starts the cycle of Knits saying, "enough" and running rampant. Does the Bish/Rook inability to deal with pissed Knits generate butthurt on their end that they try to use to justify the behavior that got them curbstomped to begin with? Why it seems it does.
It's not really a lot of fun in the mornings because there's not enough on to spread the fun out. You have people acknowledging your perspective of "my time, my fun" but you don't seem to recognize you're not giving the acknowledgement back that, "our time, not so much fun because weaksauce.".

Ha!, I guess this is true.
AW was very segregated. Changing countries was a form of voodoo. “Traitor!!”
I was BZ from day one to last day. IMO It adds a more competitive concept. Plus getting a 20-30 player squad to all agree on switching could be a challenge. Everyone was in a squad. Not as many large group squads in AH these days.
I’m stuck in old skewl same country as much as I’m not going to play another sim without the massively multiplayer arena concept. I just won’t play any ither way. Old dog, few changes. :)

monday night madness has 0time to change sides. i suppose you tend to get loyal after awhile. when JG54 flew the MA as a squad we would pick the lowest side and try to rattle the hornets nest. was always great fun!!

3 for 3 on map wins
Bish HQ down for last 30 minutes of the map
Will be a rook for the next 5hrs to prevent any double teaming of Knghts

The problem is you're not around when things are like this - every day. The immediate base count is irrelevant to the overarching situation of daily numbers imbalance.
9am cst lots of fun to be found, right, or should I just let boredom win out and log until later when you're around to provide some fun?
(https://i.postimg.cc/8kJmYxXN/ahss101.png) (https://postimg.cc/Cd08BrVQ)
So your saying that the Knights are fighting on 2 front with less than 19 vs 10. So lets say 15 vs 10 due to "minimal bish/rook action". So we are talking 5 on the rook front, 10 on the Bish front. If you can all work together fight the Bish (10 vs 10). If you have a few off doing their own thing, fight the Rooks (5 vs 5).
Other than low numbers, whats the problem?
-
Yet, you seem to be giving Bish a free pass for their daily swarming...
Looks like the swarm just won a reset (admittedly the craptastic Buzzsaw map).. how do they do it?!? I guess it's nice to have the luxury to send a few defenders....
Perhaps you can show us how to take a base with 5 people vs 3 defenders...

Bish have been stoomped all day in response Shane and their HQ has been down full time at 54 minutes no resup. Total campaign Knits and myself on Rooks have acquired 28% of Bishop bases since I logged around 11am cst.
All I Know is if I can change status quo by myself whenever I log on with just 2 accounts then so can anybody :old:

Well, now that you're not with Rooks, it's back to the usual minor rook/bish action (zero, in this case.)

Back that free pass you're giving the Bish swarm (and their Rook enablers.) Maybe low numbers has something to do with Rooks hitting Knits... maybe because there's no fun to be found going up against the daily swarm.
Only 1 or two Bish attacking Rooks at the moment, Rooks just took a Knit base. 8:45am cst

Come show us how to have fun. Or maybe the fun comes later re-educating these locusts by curb stomping them. Just bear in mind, many of these morning players fade away by afternoon/evening. They put evening Bish/Rooks in the revenge bucket - gotta take back bases, right?
quick update 9:15am cst: Bish have turned on their pet Rooks. So much fun to be found! What even are eny and "side balancing" ?
Knits have too few numbers to even try and take back some bases from Bish who can easily, and will, spare a few for some spot defense. I guess Knits could attack Rooks for "fun" right?
(https://i.postimg.cc/m2vNj9tS/ahss115.png) (https://postimg.cc/zVkgXVwL)
update 10:45am cst I ran some errands and this is what I came back to. Numbers aren't as lopsided as earlier, but still... how long have Bish had overwhleming numbers - 3 hrs or so, with another 2 hrs to go.
Seems Knits are having fun taking back some bases from... Rooks... some small effort to take back a Port from Bish. Will Bish win before afternoon nappy time?

It looked like y'all had your Rook base taking under control, so I ran some errands. Then Bish won. New map (NDIsles2), tried to help take an island base (no gv spawns) but that effort faded away and Bish took our island base. This map is mostly FT furballing until one side takes advantage of that for the win <shrug>.

I think it's cute that over the past 18 months or so, after literal decades at this game, you're finally branching out from your p-38 and learning other rides and tactical/strategic aspects this game offers.
I think it's more than accurate to state over the years and even today, I'm still more of a team player than you.
Did you need me to help you help Bish win faster?
