You are one of the most strange individuals I’ve seen post on this forum in 15 years.
You should put the bottle away before posting…
After 35 yrs, no matter what someone post there will be no less than one will counter with the notion they are superior.
People who criticize my replies for flames others start, go on 200 and incite flames or spew political flames, as if its different because its ok when they do it. Some who claim to want peace blow chunks on politics on 200.
Its very judgmental, while their own ducks scatter.
The worst way to convey a thought is in text.
1st time in 4 months I was just as drunk as 50% of those who post drunk here daily. More adults drink here than non-drinkers, like me.
No one is a puritan.
People who only know me by text their opinion matters not so much. Its an illusion that people know people based on text.
The post was about hypocrisy. Did you get that part?
A gamer is a different breed to begin with. I learned this on my 12-14 yr hiatus. I had 20 yrs in when I left in 2010-ish when you started here.

If the world was crazy, you know what I'd eat? A big slice of soup and a whole quart of meat, A lemonade sandwich, and then I might try Some roasted ice cream or a bicycle pie, A nice notebook salad, and underwear roast, An omelet of hats and some crisp cardboard toast, A thick malted milk made from pencils and daisies, And that's what I'd eat if the world was crazy.
If the world was crazy, you know what I'd wear? A chocolate suit and a tie of eclair, Some marshmallow earmuffs, some licorice shoes, And I'd read a paper of peppermint news. I'd call the boys 'Suzy' and I'd call the girls 'Harry,' I'd talk through my ears, and I always would carry A paper unbrella for when it grew hazy To keep in the rain, if the world was crazy.
If the world was crazy, you know what I'd do? I'd walk on the ocean and swim in my shoe, I'd fly through the ground and I'd skip through the air, I'd run down the bathtub and bathe on the stair. When I met somebody I'd say 'G'bye, Joe,' And when I was leaving - then I'd say 'Hello.' And the greatest of men would be silly and lazy So I would be king... if the world was cazy.

Just for future reference, I’m perfect, in my own way.
I’m sure you are too, in your own head.

Its okay, ya don’t associate yourself with me. Puritans tend to be that way, perfect.

First let me say I have NO issues with you, you play the game the way you want to and I play it the way I want to. While I don't follow all your post, you do seem to post a lot of non specific comments. This post is a good example, what are you talking about? Maybe I'm just too dense to understand how to read between the lines. :salute

A good example of why I'll prolly leave soon. It's buy a stick or leave. The crap I've dealt with since my return is way over the top and a horrible experience when I came here for fun and to help where I can. Yet I respond to them and I'm the bad guy. It's been intolerable, like this comment.

The wild winds weep, And the night is a-cold; Come hither, Sleep, And my griefs infold: But lo! the morning peeps Over the eastern steeps, And the rustling birds of dawn The earth do scorn.
Lo! to the vault Of paved heaven, With sorrow fraught My notes are driven: They strike the ear of night, Make weep the eyes of day; They make mad the roaring winds, And with tempests play.
Like a fiend in a cloud With howling woe, After night I do croud, And with night will go; I turn my back to the east, From whence comforts have increas'd; For light doth seize my brain With frantic pain.

Just annoy and carry on. People need drama on here. It's part of what makes this forum entertaining to say the least. Albeit usually gets out of hand, but that's what happens when everyone is hidden behind a faceless internet account. Don't take the trolls seriously, it just takes away energy from you. Orange man annoys the watermelon out of a lot of people too, and they troll him, and he trolls them back. It's just how it is, your choice to engage with them or not, but if you do, don't get feelings over it.

Hmmm
I guess when someone has lost every single significant person in their life to death, including wife and son,...it makes one look at the world, life and people differently. Most of all how they waste their time in life and disregard the time of others. You CANNOT understand, and I feel bad for anyone who is forced to.
Which reminds me of another quote "You can take advantage to kick and beat me while I'm down and out, just remember when you're done it's my turn.". Meh! Some here did knowingly seize on that and still do. Someone can say "you're your own biggest problem" yet if you read around on the intardnet it doesn't have the best of reputations, was that all me too? It's not that I can't take it, I choose not to, like others. I've handled a lot worse people in real life than ANY of you could ever dish out, I closed that door too. Some have swallowed their own tongues.
The best mistake is the one you do not repeat.
Ya like Poems? This is one my wife (2010, RIP) gave me and helped me through troubled times. I'm no longer the 1%er biker type, never looked back, I cleaned myself up in 92 because I started a family, did all the right things, just to lose it all. Life will have it's way with you however it pleases. So I took up flight sims instead of biking.
Desiderata:
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Screaming at the window Watch me die another day Hopeless situation Endless price I have to pay
Sanity, now it's beyond me There's no choice
Diary of a madman Walk the line again today Entries of confusion Dear diary, I'm here to stay
Manic depression befriends me Hear his voice Sanity, now it's beyond me There's no choice
A sickened mind and spirit The mirror tells me lies Could I mistake myself for someone Who lives behind my eyes? Will he escape my soul Or will he live in me? Is he trying to get out Or trying to enter me?

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation And it looks like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free
Let it go, let it go I am one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You'll never see me cry Here I stand and here I stay Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go When I rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That perfect girl is gone Here I stand in the light of day Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway

I think the best example is BigWeek, Started out with a few thousand, and repulsed itself down to about 15, the ones who chased the others off and the spectators who cheered it on. What many thought as witty turned out to be what chased the horde away. Then they ate each other. Walking into BW was like walking into a septic tank.
I'm glad most of the "fecal farmers" got pushed out, but the smell lingers.
Not so ironic the chest pumpers are offended the easiest and play victim the most.
I'm really not offended, I have much bigger fish to fry,...but a forum of the self-righteous doesn't impress me anymore than BW did. <shrug>
Most, but not all, of the chaos comes from former players. What was done to me recently was launched by 2 former players to current players. I know who passed my real name on, and it's not a current player. It was an ankle biter from day one who suddenly made themselves scarce. The one who always gets others to do his dirty work because his feelings got bent because he couldn't take what he dished out. The one with the sig line that projects himself. Cpt DCS Salesman.
POINT BEING, the ones who shun me do the same thing they shun me for <shrug> Imagine that, :)

There were more than 15 of us when Trip lost the ability to host the Bigweek news group. Now they've motated to at least two places on Facebook. I have seen people lose their lives to Facebook, so I don't participate, but I sense that most of the core people are still there.
Animal is...Animal! Bigweek vets remember his meltdowns, just like you see here. He lets his keyboard run away from him, but he's a good-hearted person down deep inside, willing to share things he knows better than others do (his road trips with rock stars, among others). Best to give him some room, don't take the insults seriously, and know that usually he means well.

Air Warrior - the grandfather of the WWII multiplayer games - had a BBS, similar to this one. Those who remember better than I do can correct the following (and please do):
Sometime around 1999, the AW Gods tried to run, for the first time, a very large multi-player mission, coordinating things that hadn't previously been coordinated in an online game, basically trying to emulate the real-life WWII Big Week missions of February, 1944. They set up a separate BBS, similar to this one, for people who were participating in the experiment, to chat among themselves in anticipation of, and in reflections on, the experiment.
The Big Week missions worked, as I recall, although I wasn't able to participate. But the Bigweek BBS was a huge hit, and people made lots of virtual friends. You know who you are.
Then came Y2k. AW eliminated the Bigweek BBS. I was heartbroken, and wrote a piece about it (if I can ever find it). But fortunately, the survivors started a new newsgroup, also named "Bigweek," on a Nutscrape server. That worked out well, for years and years, and migrated to different servers. Many of the people who post on these boards (including Animal) were part of it.
Sadly (IMHO), newsgroups were buried by Facebook, and Trip, who was valiantly hosting the Bigweek NNTS, moved on further in his family's life and couldn't host the newsgroup any longer. Most of the veterans moved to Facebook but, as I've said, I refrain from joining that social heroin needle. I miss them, though. I've met some of them in person over the years (including Shane), and I miss the cameraderie.
But the AH BBS is the next best thing. Don't forget that you're making lifelong friends here, even if you never will get a chance to meet them in person.

I'm pretty sure the Bigweek scenario was way back in 1997, Oldman. I think you are recalling the Longbow scenario. Bigweek was a "test" scenario to see if the servers could handle the upcoming "auto scenarios" I think. Initially, Kesmai/Gamestorm had newsgroups set up for the Bigweek.allies, Bigweek.axis and Bigweek.general. After the scenario, folks continued post in General because the new message board system set up at Gamestorm was terrible. Before Gamestorm, Air Warrior was using the bulletin Board system on AOL (Homer was the moderator) and alt.games.airwarrior to a lesser extent whose origins pre-dated AOL. Before all of that there was the GEnie message boards starting in 1988.
Kesmai abandoned Bigweek.general after about couple months and Frenchy (Fnchy) setup an NNTP server and kept Bigweek.general alive. A huge number of subscribers including old DOS Air Warrior folks like Dead Duck, Tex, SB, NB, Rocket Man, Fool, Grey Eagle, Moggy, DoK Gonzo even HiTech among many others posted there. Plenty of AOL newbs like DeadF, Rotor, Mage, Flossy, Fidd, Dipsy, Oopsie, LaLa, Seeker, +Mir, +Tiff, Earl, Lone, B17, the one and only Pasha, the great Blesk....the list goes on and on, were posting there as well. TK (DJ Nephew) took over the servers in about late '98.
In 2000, TK no longer wanted to keep the old server up and going so Trip from England took over as he was running an ISP over there and had ample bandwidth and server space. in 2002 EA bought up Kesmai and killed off Air Warrior. Bigweek continued on but folks lost interest, came over here or just got tired of things in there for various reasons. I left there a few months after the game went away. I checked in every once in a while over the years and I think there were a few folks posting as late as 2014.
I know Damned Egger collected everything from the original Bigweek nntp servers all the way up to the demise of TK's server. I'd love to get in touch with him again to see if he still has the .zip file he put it in.
Somewhere in all of that, alt.games.air warrior went away. I think it was about 2001
That's my memory of events but I could be off on the dates a bit. I do remember the NG became popular because the BBS system that Gamestorm set up was atrocious.
And I agree with Oldman as I know a bunch of the core group went to the dumpster fire that is Facebook. I'd like to correspond with some of them but I'm not going in that place.
Brooke, Flossy or Shane probably have the best recollection of Bigweek and its various dates.
Sorry for all the edits, my memory pulses and fades.

Animl you should consider it a shining badge of honor, the game needs strange IMO (I was a big supporter of having He Who Must Not Be Named in the game as I believe(d) this game needed a villain like many other online games I've played always seem to create and have...)

Sentence of the year on the forums here. And just consider the full substance of that statement considering some of the others that would be in the running for the title...

It needs a squad of early war planes full of very good sticks who are duking it out as the villains. Not what they were...

I like animl, brings some stories, brings some grit. Brings some Film and tries to make the game fun.
Yall too serious, just need to enjoy some company and realise some of us have traumatic experiences and we should listen and entertain their stories.

Its ok. Ya prolly annoy me too. There’s a lil elitism of purity in the air.
Just for future reference, I’m perfect, in my own way.
I’m sure you are too, in your own head.
I hope I passed the audition, fighting the war FOR you.
Its okay, ya don’t associate yourself with me. Puritans tend to be that way, perfect.
Kudos :)

Bigweek was started with the Air Warrior II Beta test before Kesmai Started Gamestorm. I think it was started for the beta but I'm not 100% on that myself.
The jump from Air Warrior II to III was extremely easy and happened shortly after however, Kesmai only offfered AWII to other services like AOL as Air Warrior III itself, which was just AWII with 3d Skins, that Kesmai's reserved exclusively for it's upcoming Gamestorm gaming service. When EA purchased it they reskinned it the Krait's skin changer and branded it as AWMV.
Not sure how Bigweek survived Air Warrior and Kesmia but it was still going into the late 2010s.

Some form of 3D updating happened, I gave Blue Baron (and/or GE) my updated copy of 3D Max Pro to model something. Can’t remember which version of AW tho.

AWIII or AW3D as some like to abbreviate it was basically Air Warrior II with 3d Skins not much more. Wasn't much in the way upgrading as the two games where identical in every other way. You could actually take parts of II like the 2d cockpits and dump them into AirWarrior III and they would work, That being said you could NOT take the 3d bitmap skins From AWIII and drop them into AWII and get them to work.
Basically AWIII was AWII With 3d Bitmap skins on everything.
As far as I know AWII and AWIII both had their "Bigweek" beta test.
Everyone got Air Warrior classic (AW4W) AWII was only offered to other services like AOL (Gamestorm did not offer AWII) and AWIII was exclusively Gamestorm's until EA purchased it.
The original Bigweek NNTP sever was for Beta Testing and Special Events. I thought it was originally made and ran buy Kesmai. It was active as a player forum as a part of the community but not controlled by Kesmai during Gamestorms run.
Again not sure how it passed hands (I think Frenchy had it first) but the Bigweek NNTP was active for longer than Air Warrior was even around. (12-13 years for all versions of Air Warrior and around 20 years for Bigweek)
I stopped being active on the Bigweek NNTP back around the late 2000's early 2010's.
I think I still have a bunch of the post in a back up, but the one Damned Egger has is much much bigger than the Backup I have. Maybe I will share mine but I wouldn't hold your breath, it took me 26 years to post the AWCON98 Sign in Sheets.

Well now, Pretty sure 1989 came before 2004 and 2000 before 04. My stick has 10 yrs of play on it and wiped out. I’m glad you didn’t reply with an insult to prove my point while replying with an insult to prove my point.

That is the old Dos SVGA version and I think the last DOS version of Air Warrior, I want to say 1992-93. This is what we had on GEnie Delphi & Compuserve. Air warrior for windows was next in 94 or 95 which was the version AOL had. AW4W became Air Warrior Classic on Gamestorm.
Xanax I still have a couple of old FDD in my garage, I can always send you one LOL! But after around 30 years I couldn't be sure the data is intact.
Nothing more needs to be said. Lame troll and bait only a ...
Morpheus look at the positive ... We got some poetry, some music lyrics, and a bunch of Air Warrior history here, so this thread wasn't a total bust ... Just look at Xanax's pretty picture of the our favorite airplane game. :D

I think Drano got AWIII to work on an old win98se machine he resurrected recently.
Almost all your posse is gone and suffered you getting them to do your dirty work. I'm not done with you. Go away, don't come back.
Stay away from the playgrounds
Dude everyone knows you don't like Captain Trips .... But his quoted post was a response to Xanax's post which was a response to Meatwad posting an online emulator for Air Warrior 1 DOS as it was on GEnie back in the day (early 1990s I think) which honestly you have to admit is pretty damn cool.
Your response is unwarranted and is probably going to incite him to make a nasty response right back at you. In the end your just going to make yourself look bad and you are going to bring out the worst in him.
Stop being your own worse enemy!
IF you are looking for interactions and conversation, there are way better subjects and way better threads that you could start to get those interactions and have them start and stay on the positive side.

My comment was regarding the in-browser emulator.
Animl won't be satisfied until he has turned this forum into the cesspool he did AW Big Week.
This community has let a scorpion into it's tent.

That wouldn't be the scorpion that stung a certain CIA F-16 Viper pilot in the leg during the gulf war would it? .... Sorry I was feeling a little nostalgic. :D
I would say Animl by his own admissions is an emotionally needy/confused, socially awkward individual, burdened by a turbulent and tumultuous past, that is lonely and craving interactions.
Unfortunately he has a really poor way of obtaining those interactions, and Animl will get himself in situations were people take pop shots at him. He typically responds by lashing out and holding on to the slightest of slights; then its all a slippery slope of hate and anger from then on out.
I do so get the impression that Animl has a real Mean-on for you, and I don't think axe body spray and breath mints are going to help with that, sorry to say.
Note: To be clear "Your response is unwarranted and is probably going to incite him to make a nasty response right back at you. In the end your just going to make yourself look bad and you are going to bring out the worst in him. " was aimed at Animl and his quoted response to you.

Nope, not going to read nor reply directly and give them what they lust. Starts at the top of the thread, showing their own true colors.
I can list 50 reasons to justify my statement.
Lets just remind of a few. These are 3 of the 5 that caused a boat load of drama here by their own lack of control. From rallying hate towards me about videos, to all 3 here trying to establish me as a “Sexual Predator” which each one posted more than once, to not only rallying behind doxing to actually cheering it on on a different board. There is not one thing innocent about any of them. I could very easily post their own faults they made by their own choices. I choose not to. Spare us the tears.
That said, the irrational who play tough guys, could never handle my past without one in the chamber. I’m a surviver, not a crybaby, nor a twig arm PC bully. I loath bullies with passion. I bite back. Stop sticking your finger in the known fire then cry because it burns. Life is that easy. These 3 are CLEARLY victims of themselves, professional victims.
I have true friends here, I treat them as they are, with respect they deserve. I have morals.
Sometimes in life you get what you ask for, when you consciously and purposely cross the white line don’t cry about whats on the other side.
They tend to think I’m spinning in circles with ratted crazy hair and flailing arms speaking foreign tongues and foaming at the mouth. Far from it, I made a statement. Most here don’t have them on ignore for no reason. They saw their antics too. The hate started on their side of the white line. They chose to cross it. Prove me wrong. I can prove my point.
Trippy (or these 5) caused more damage to our numbers than most with their frothing mouths of blind hate. Trips coddled Skyyr and his tribe on Discord. Others have PMed me informing I have him nailed, exactly correct. Witnesses, plural.
Oldman and Mayhem’s perception of me is mostly correct with a few misunderstandings. But at least one has known me for 30+ yrs. I give him (them) his room. These 5 know zero about me. Its all reckless assumptions and blind hate. They are obsessed with “winning”, its not going to happen.
Buzz-kills
Done. Move on.

Just to correct the untruthful statements made by the congenital iiar above, I have never had any interaction with Skyyr or Vraciu on Discord. Ever.
I've never exchanged two words with Skyyr except in the previous thread on this forum.
My only point on Skyyr was that it weakens the argument by Eagler, DemonSlayer, and the liar above, to claim Skyyr has no skills and can ONLY win a fight when he has an alt or plane advantage.
Anyone who has watched his combat videos obviously sees that is simply not a true statement. And the people who continue to state that are speaking only from butt-hurt emotion and ego-bruised pouting. I pointed out that can be proven by simply taking him to the DA and proving your point with equal alt and same plane. Can he be beaten some percentage of the time? I'm sure. Even Chuck Yeager was shot down once. Anyone can be shot down some percentage of the engagements. It's never the less obviously ridiculous to claim he has no skill.
As to his other behaviors, I take no stance. I was not involved in any of those instances, nor ever tuned Chan200, so I wouldn't know. And whether he was allowed back or not, is a matter I have no opinion on and leave that to HT to decide.
