Perhaps a limited allotment per player, per tour? You get a maximum of 10 Tempons, no matter how sweethearty you feel.
-
these so called "Top tier" players running around in temps and 262s doing nothing but picking these days. Im a bolow average player and I'll fly anything. Wheres the challenge of having one of the top planes and just picking? Get an F4f and see how many you can fight, right Fudgums? :aok

Different maps should have different planesets in the name of variety and competitiveness...and gameplay - you would not want early slow planesets on the largest maps..
Otherwise you will have what you have today..

Those guys care.about quantity rather than quality. Unfortunately none of them can accomplish the quantity in anything but those rides.
It's a shame. At least fly a spit16 where running isn't always an option.

:rofl I haven't even read the comments yet either :rofl
Bless their hearts :airplane:

Never saw a Temp that didn’t HO

Hitech said he would look into increasing the temp cost. Hoping he does. It should be higher than the 262. Its being overflown and not a fun plane to fight against.

Its not so much the plane as it is how its used. If perking it solves exploiting it, then it should be. I just stopped counting chickens.

Always HO temps or other perk planes, it’s just good economic warfare.
Also if the other guy is in a perk plane he wasn’t looking for a fight anyway.

How does Tempest compare to F4U-4? I think this is more about the player than then plane. Could a good pilot beat the Tempest in question? :salute

Sure, if the Tempest fights, but they dont. Pick and run is the main tactic. If they get carless and end up in a possible HO, they go for it counting on the cannons and good aim.

A good pilot vs a "speshul one", sure. :D

A good pilot in a bad plane is great.
A good pilot in a good plane is good.
A good pilot in a great plane is deadly.
Does plane choice matter? Yes.
Does a players skill matter? Yes

I remember one time I ran down a tempest with a 262 and was able to get him within a couple turns. Seems some of these tempest pile-its game runs out when they get caught.

Agreed
Thats the problem. Its not the plane, its how its exploited.
Perked, it may force some to take another uber plane the same way.

The F4U4 lacks cannons which IMO is extremely important. This means it normally gets picked having to chase planes longer due to the 50s not downing planes quickly enough. The Temp has the overall best 20s in the game. One pass with a few bullets insta towers planes. It makes a hell of a difference to get the kill quickly rather than having to chase with 50s that take 100s of them it seems. Especially on Bombers.
The F4u4 will out turn it and out dive it, but can it out accelerate and catch it? Im not so sure. The F4u4 invites 1v1 fights more than Temps, which gets players picked in them easier.
The Tempest is much stronger in the attack position due to the cannons and body strength.
Theres a reason why more guys use the temp than the F4u4. I think its because they'd rather hit X and run, and always dictate the fight on their advantage and terms and mostly, be able to run from the gangers, which I do understand that to a point, but being in an advantage plane doesn't make it very fun for the other payers.

They used to do that stuff in the dueling arena of all places....them and -4 Hogs. It kinda took the fun out of it for me.
Some just have a need to prove something, I guess. Restricting them to certain bases or zones might clip their wings a bit.
Didn't AH have something like that at one time anyway? :headscratch:

Nope not at all, these guys love to rearm and move toward the "pickers paradise" to get all there kills.

That is good advice. I got burned a few times trying to avoid the HO and instead caught a "deflection shot".
It's better to take your chances head on. At least you might score a radiator hit, or get sand in her vajayjay.

If youll look at stats, the Tempest got the second most fighter kills last tour with a slightly lower K/D than the 163 and 262, who only had 443 kills combined. If you look a the top pilots. Its all almost the same guys getting most of the kills in all 3. All long time vets, all know exactly what they are doing, and even the #1 fighter rank OldAngus got his #1 fighter rank in 262 and 163s only. And do I think these guys help the #s? Not at all, if anything, they chase players out because no one has a chance at fighting these guys most of the time. Its just laziness.

Maybe get together a posse of 262s?

Tempest #1 in kills now, needs a solid 3-4x price increase. Though the people that use it are all long time players that probably have 2 million perks.
