Some have suggested a map that starts off with the sides mixed. This is a rough mockup. Would something like it promote fights or just be a confused mess?

It's an interesting concept, but without the strat placements it's difficult to mentally project (for me at least) several types of gameplay.

Are strats necessary for a viable map? If not this would be an interesting concept to explore.

Yes this is sort of what I was suggesting in one of the recent threads. I would also make at least one base unable to be captured by the other two sides.
I would also like have more three sided opportunities in future maps. I know older ones are tough to manipulate at times.

Looks like the milkrunners would just capture the closest enemy base to the strats then just spend all day bombing them. How hard would it be to but a 40k mountain around the strat islands so nobody can access them?

Great idea, worth a shot imo... but i think think the leeches and snakes will continue to do what they do. This might help equal out the primetime double bang though.

I'm not a fan of the ringed bases, takes away porking effectiveness as you need to pork three bases to impact one fight. If they were more in series you'd have less you have to pork and prevents just bouncing back and forth playing whackamole with attackers.

Hiya. Nostalgia brings me back and just saw this. Are CV's still a thing? I had this idea of a map with a 15K volcano type cone in the center with 2 GV bases and a single small airfield for each in the center. of the cone. Each country has a mid, then large base backing it up with like waterways between each country. Imagine a Mercedes logo, each country has a segment, all meet in the middle. Spread out the back end stuff for a country to regroup and fight back from. Focus all outer bases on attack (meaning harder and harder to just roll over), all inner bases on defense, and the ultimate defense is attacking over that mountain range in the middle.

From a strategic aspect, it seems like it could be enjoyable for all 3 sides but strat location does concern me too. Also if one team gets the tail and other bases, it will go all out on those strats. Maybe it makes more sense to put them in the middle. Then the middle will be a giant no man's land full of ack and 163s going for bombers trying to get it? Idk.
I was also thinking if you could remove even the back triangle area bases and just put the strats there.

I think its critical for every map to maintain the uniqueness of the game. A map like this would be perfect for central strat complex much like that found in Aces High 2. A few maps have tried but none have come close yet.

As long as we are throwing ideas around. Remember when strats could retreat when they got close to the front? If a country is getting rolled could we have the strats retreat to another location until they regain some territory? Too often one country is getting rolled and their strats are toast causing their players to log.
