It'd be nice if we had the option to configure the separate vox channels to output out to individual sides. It'd help SA a bit to know you're hearing someone on channel when its your left side/ear versus range coming from the right side/ear.

Then I'll just have to worry about those voices in the back of my head...

That would be great until you run into someone (like my father-in-law) who's deaf on one side.

I've just grown accustomed to glancing into the corner to see the displayed name color. I don't usually catch the name, just the color.

That's why it'd be configurable. Thus your father in law would use...

Right

Range Vox

Left
Right

and I could use...

Channel Vox

Left [ ] Right

Range Vox [ ] Left

Right

or you could use...

Channel Vox [ ] Left

Right

Range Vox

Left [ ] Right

Or, you can set up the channel tone, or "beep", already provided for you for one channel or the other to sound when traffic is from that channel to compliment the name and color indicator in the upper right corner of the screen.

In addition to this, you can replace the beeps to further differentiate chatter on the 2 channels.

Different beep sounds doesn't have the same level of clarity as sound from one side or the other.

But if, say, local channel does not have ANY tone, or "beep" tagged to it, and the tuned VOX DOES have the tone associated with it..... so local talk does not have the tone, but tuned VOX messages do have the tone........would that not be more clear, to most people, than trying to determine if what you heard was in your left ear, or right ear on the fly?

Anyone without the ability to distinguish where sounds are coming from wouldn't need it, thats why it'd be configurable. However, even with a 2 speaker setup I can quite clearly tell which side a sound is coming from regardless if its a voice, an engine, a tank etc. The positional sound in AH2 is actually quite well done. It's especially noticable on headphones.

that is a good idea, althou i almost never use VOX (mainly because not all H2H servers support it for some reason) it might be a worth while setting to implement, i know i would use it
