Did you use my silly MS Paint method or did you use better software with some filter to shut down all colors but red?

Yep, that's Pike's in Seattle.

I used Photoshop Elements 4.  Using layers is faster and more versatile than saving each step in Paint and there is a little tool called the magic wand selector that saves a lot of time.  But basically it’s the exact same technique you use.  I just masked all the red and made the background black and white.

Thanks for showing us your work.  It’s a fun technique that I will have to start using.

On the subject of selective color, I did this a couple of months ago:

Also applied an Orton Effect.

Awesome!  I love the clarity of the scene in the glasses and the surreal Orton Effect in the background.

Well done.

Alyeska is the place to ski in Alaska.  Here’s what it looked like 15 years ago:

It’s a great senic drive, about 30-35 miles.

Alyeska Resort has one of the most scenic bars in the world.

Its in the restaurant at the top of the lift. Sit at the bar and enjoy a world class martini.

A bit pricey but worth it.
