Is this an event that someone with minimal flight skills will really enjoy?

It depends on the individual as to whether they would enjoy it.

Personally, I'd say yes.

In the very least you will learn allot about flying and fighting as well as history and you will get a chance to fly with some of the best sticks in AH.

The immersion in these events can't be beat.  I say go for it.

If you are willing to spend a good deal of time in practice sessions, respond to forum posts, and be part of a team that has Orders handed down from someone else and Follow those orders, then you will enjoy this event.

If you want to solo, don't like being told what to do and where to fly and what to not only attack but NOT attack, then no, you won't like a scenario.

These are very organized, very structured events.  Flight skills always improve  after one of these.  It's virtually impossible to come out the other side of a well organized and driven scenario without a significantly different view on the game and new abilities.

Muskie, it can really be a lot of fun regardless of your skill level. It's certainly a lot more organized, and can provide an awesome feeling of immersion. I definitely recommend giving it a shot at least once, even if you just look for a walkon spot.
