It does take lots of time, more than enough time to get someone from your country or a squaddie to get out there with some eggs to send them back to the tower. Then you can go get your VH back.

Should really get V base back first, THEN go after the gv's at HQ.

That depends on how many GV's have spawned for HQ.
It's relatively easy to get the V base back. If you already have GV's shelling HQ, you don't have long until the lights go out.
Honour the threat.
It's usually a fair drive to the HQ from the spawn, so If you kill the existing threats, get the V base back then go clean the ones who have re-spawned up, threat eliminated.

Its a quote from Major Green, a character in the book "Catch 22".  Sorry, yes I edited your quote.

Sneak the V-base gentlemen.  At least HTC gave us another server to play on...

GV bases are easy to capture and defend but it's not easy to capture one thats near any HQ. It takes a lot of time and skill to get there going NOE. Besides you, there are many hazards to avoid along the way. You need to avoid all enemy dar rings doing your best not to alert the enemy. You must also maintain a hidden status for many sectors climbing up and down hills and mountains trying your best not to break the dar bar either. OTW there your time and effort can easily be wasted by even the worst player in the game willing to find and kill your goon.
HQ is not extremely hard to kill and just as easy to re supply. Seems like a petty whine to me and would not expect it from a CM staff member either.

Keep your eyes open and this won't happen. Most of all, keep your respect by not looking like a quitter or childish board flipper and leave because your DAR will be out for a measly 25 minutes or less. The way to handle this problem is to not be a selfish cry baby and get your lazy butt in a goon loaded with supplies and help your countrymen get their dar back up.:aok

It's also pretty easy to thwart a capture that's done like this. Just up an ostwind or two when the base starts to flash.

It's pretty easy to repair HQ once damaged so it's not really a big deal.

If you dont like GV's crushing HQ then keep an eye on any base with GV spawns to HQ.

We had GV's killing HQ other night, it pissed off our squad so we went and recaptured the GV base, end of problem.

Why does HTC have to solve all your problems for you? ...use some tactics and fix the problem.  Come on,  you can park your fighter for 15min and deal with this.....gee whiz
