I blame it on the Neoconservative Movement. I think too many Republicans are getting confused about what "true" conservative values are. They are mistaking a conservative ideology for one that is actually far from it. People like Ron Paul are true conservatives. The Regan and Bush (Both Neocons) administrations were cash cows that had reckless spending habits. I hope for our country's sake that the Republican Party finds new leadership.

I caught myself doing a fair bit of hand wringing about the election.  Then I cast my mind back to all the Presidential elections during my life beginning with the 1960 election when I was 3.

I'm banking on that America is more sturdy that whom we elect as commander in chief.

And sure it matters who we elect.

I think once they find how much freedom they have lost or will lose they will wake up.

Bush is a long  LONG was from being a  neo-con.  He's not even really a  conservative.

Try to go for the whole post instead of reading the first line or two Mini.

Who's your fave in this election Mini? What issues are near and dear to your heart in this one? How will you use your vote so it isn't wasted?

BTW, Missouri is bad off... but then, I live in Kansas. :)

As has been said by many, real change or revolution won't happen so long as everyone is reasonably comfortable and well fed. That could change pretty quickly in this country.
Materialy, mentaly.. Of course enough people could be anesthesized to not be able to tell the difference..

Check Amazon.com; Paul's book The Revolution is #18. Obama's Dreams of My Father is #96. McCain didn't break the top 100.

Paul is #7 on the NY Times best seller list too.

Just started Paul's book.

twentyfo.. for  the sake of the country I hope that the democrats wake up and quit trying to turn the country into some half baked ideal of liberal socialism.   I do not want to live like the blue coasts want me to live.  I will never agree with their radical socialist and anti individualist ideals of the nanny state where every single little missery of anyone is paraded out as an excuse to make a government agency and a new law that makes the lives of thousands.. millions.. less free.   The democrats seem to hate individual freedom these days.   They seem to think utopia is a workers paradise where it is "from each according to his ability and to each according to his needs"  and "the end justifies the means"

Absolutely.. The billions spent on social programs ought to get back to sensible proportions, so that all that money is put to use.. Instead of milked by couch potatoes and other frauds.

Wanna know where your money is going?

"The average illegal immigrant family receives an average of $30,000 in governmental benefits! Yet they pay only about $9,000 in taxes per year. That creates a $21,000 shortfall that the American taxpayer has to make up. That's like buying each of the illegal immigrant families a brand new Mustang convertible -- each and every year!"  Robert Rector, Ph.D.

We have 30,000,000 illegals in the country now... Do the math... It is coming out of YOUR pocket too.  In addition, it forces wages lower, creates a higher demand on housing, keeping them artificially inflated and 30,000,000 use a LOT of gasoline, keeping that demand high.
