Hires pack

Hi all, I have a 19" monitor and I just installed the Hires pack. Here's what my settings are:

Res: 1280x1024
Texture Size: 1024
FOV: Wide Screen

Still, it does not fill my whole screen. There's about 2 inches of black on each side of my monitor left to fill.

1280x1024 isn't a wide-screen resolution. If your monitor is wide-screen I would imagine the native resolution for a 19" would be 1440x900. If you don't have a wide-screen monitor I believe your out of luck and can't use the feature just due to the limitations of the resolution of your monitor.

If your monitor is a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio monitor, you need to select the correct resolution for a wide aspect ratio monitor.  Check the option to show all the resolutions and find the correct one which matches the monitors native resolution (if it is LCD).

You also need the "Widescreen" option checked as well.

Alright, I messed with the settings and got it working better, but now my text buffer is huge, along with the text. Did I do something wrong?

The game makes a best attempt to keep the text large enough to read as the resolution increases.  We are aware of some anomalies at certain resolution combinations and are looking into it.
