Depends on the situation. In a average scenario, a 262 should at least keep 5k of alt beneath him incase he picks up a diving bandit. Nothing is gonna catch a 262 already at 450+ and in a shallow dive from 5- Deck level unless the 262 is a bit slow on the airspeed.
PFff if you've ever seen me fly a 262 in fightertown, I go in at 1.5K and turn fight 190's and 109's. :D

Done by Marquardt Corporation:

Marquardt's first products were wind tunnels, but by the end of their first year they had delivered an experimental 20 inch (0.51 m) ramjet to the United States Navy for testing. The United States Army Air Forces purchased two of the same design early in 1946, and fitted them to the wingtips of a P-51 Mustang fighter for in-flight testing. By this time the Navy had fitted theirs to a F7F Tigercat and started flight tests in late 1946. Later Navy tests fitted the same engine to a P-83 and F-82 Twin Mustang.

Google Marquardt Corp. for more info. :salute

The last six that I have caught were all low and slow... and at least one of them was JG11.  :D
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I shot down FBWar's 262 down with a rocket from my Hellcat in AH1.   I accidentally had it toggled.   :D

In AH1? How long ago was that? Can't believe you still remember the name.

I'm guessing that he doesn't shoot down 262s with rockets in a Hellcat very often - it's a pretty memorable event.  ;-)

ps: yeah yeah, I know I'm just intermediate to maybe upper intermediate, and I'm not saying this means anything, but last month 262s shot down other 262s a total of 29 times, and I had three of those, and in the same week.   :devil
