Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz Processor

change this to something that has an integrated memory controller.
i think if you buy a more recent platform with similar costs,
you'd have more choices for future upgrades at less cost.
1. phenom ii 550BE + AM3 mobo (which will allow you to upgrade processors up to 2012, 3 years- think thuban six core in 2010, and bulldozer 8-core capable 2011 w/o having to change motherboards) + DDR3
2. phenom ii 720BE + AM2+ mobo(also accepts current and future socket AM3 processors(named above), til 2012) + DDR2

LGA775 is EOL, buying that platform has no future upgrade path for it, and youll have to start over again if you want to upgrade in the future. component compatibility will save you $$$ when buying hardware.

good luck!

Look at the tempest case over the 1200.  I have an empty 1200 sitting here for a few reasons.  One they are noisy, two not a great case for airflow despite the amount of fans amongst other reasons.

Agree with TD. I have the 1200 and besides looking ok, that many fans is a pain to clean. I have to pull off 28 thumb screws just to pull the front 3 fans off to clean maybe once a month. The only real noise i hear is the top one. I hear the video card more than anything else. Only other thing i really dont like is the where they put controls for the back/top fans (lights/speed). There is just a small slider thats hard to get to sometimes. Do love the twist controls for the front fans though and just the space it has to work in.

Are the performance one cases any better with airflow?

Better airflow = less heat.

I know that... I'm talking about Antec's Performance One series  I was wondering how they stood up to the 1200 and similar antec cases as far as airflow is concerned

Thank you sir!

Hey Delta... Merciful here.

Have you tried AH since the latest update?  They've really worked out a bunch of the glitches, and the stuttering is almost non-existent now... Game play is smooth as silk for me all setting maxed (albeit with much more up to date hardware than you).

I saw a post of yours a few months ago showing your setting after the 2.16 update.... I noticed you had your textures set to 1024.  Given your 6200 video card (I'm familiar.. that's what I used to use) I think you'd see a much better performance boost running 512 textures... and even more if you can handle 256.

I'll see you around...
