New AvA squad looking for daytime US and Euro pilots
« on: March 06, 2010, 08:34:24 PM »

"Bogies sector 8.1.3"
"Roger Bravo 1, can you ID?"
"Tally bandits!! 2 bandits, angels 9"
"Roger Bravo1, remain high cover, Bravo 2 engage."

Is this more what you had in mind?

When you first discovered AH, did you daydream of winging your Spitfire against the Luftwaffe over the white cliffs of Dover?
Or diving in on zeros in your shark toothed P-40, high above the Burma Road?
Or sweating as your escorts turn back, leaving you to face the flak and fighters as you approach your target city of Bremen?

Do you work nights or are in an overseas time zone that prevents you from attending the historical special events?

Take a break from Spit vs Spit and Mustang vs Corsair and come fly more like it really was with the 358th Daybreakers.

We want to do our best to create our own mini version of "Combat Tour"

The 358th Daybreakers are looking for historical minded pilots to fly in the Axis vs Allies arena during the US afternoon and European prime time hours.

Prospective recruits must be willing to make the AvA their home for a couple of hours per week.

Squad members may keep their Main Arena squad affiliation if it is acceptable to that squads leadership (they are separate) we only want you for AvA.

We will train, practice and when we have the arena to ourselves, divide up and fight each other, all with the goal of building a cohesive unit to challenge other squads to two hour strategic game play sessions in the AvA.

If you have ever said "I'd fly in AvA if there were ever any players there", this is your chance to do something more than talk.

Join us.

pm Chilli or jimson for your initial orders or check out the website http://358daybreakers.webs.com/

That is all.

Never know what to expect

After yesterday's no icon settings in the AvA, which by the way was prompted somewhat by a request from one of us ordinary AH community folks, you never will know what to expect next. :rofl

A great way to start off the daytime roll call.  WMGambit and I had a blast, mostly vox chat was ....."where did he go? :headscratch:.... you got another one on your 6!  :airplane: ....... no, you have 3 on your 6!!  :joystick: ........ I'm out of ammo  :uhoh ......"

Check out this thread, especially if you haven't been in the AvA because the numbers seem to be low.  It all started for me some time around 3 pm EST with Jaeger, me and 1 guy here and there.  Next thing you know guys are logging on and exclaiming they had to tell there squadees about it.   A safe bet is a lot of folks just plain missed out on a helluva good time.

Thanks Jaeger   Due to your latest setup and arena participation (along with hard work done by Jimson), recruitment has been going well.

Be on the lookout for a new recruitment poster soon
