Aha! I am in 32 bit mode. Haven't gone to Win95 yet. Will try 16 bit mode first. Thanks ArkanReb.

Couple more things. The card I had just gotten was an AGP card with TNT2 chipset.I'm not mentioning this cause of the chipset but more so cause of the AGP.Wondering if using a gamecard is better suited for joystick than soundcard with AGP.I noticed when I tried calibrating in windows the movement in the calibration box was not coinciding with my stick(it would reach right wall and still have more stick movement right). After calibration in windows and in game I also noticed a faster roll rate right than left(not good haha).I reverted back to my PCI card since I was runnin in 16 bit mode anyways. No problem calibrating now so if it still does it in 16 bit mode to ya then it's probably an AGP-win98 issue for that js like ya mentioned.Hopefully not.Not tryin to confuse you just seein if any of this is similar with you.Maybe we can pinpoint it so when I get a new card I'll know whats goin on.

Just for the sake of comparison...

I use the F22Pro/TQS/RCS setup.  I used to have nasty cal problems with the ACM gamecard thus retroed back to the standard GamePort on the ol SBLive.   I've always had to dampen and deadband the rudder to get anything like decent rudder cal.

By the way, if you have the option of the Trustmaster RCS or the CH Pro Rudder pedals, got with the CH rudders.  They are a whole lot cleaner IMHO.

Have CH F16 combat usb and its gone out once in like 10-11 hours of play but I think it goes in windows first.  Had to recalibrate in windows again and it was OK.

Hiya Well, I had this problem in AW3.  I have same sound card as you SB Live! and guess what its MS and Sb Live conflict in wins98.  I bought gamecard and it solve the problem.  Know i bought USb version and no problem either.  Sb Live n MS has conflicts.  Good Luck

Before you do anything try this goto Controlpanel>multimedia>devices>Midi devices n instruments>Midi for Creative Software Synth> pick Do not use MIDI features on this device.  This  what causes the conflict.  This is for musicians so need for it unless you musician   reboot system and try the stick out Gluck

Very Importan Dont Remove it@!!!!!! Just disable it

u used that setup for years....never had calibration trouble with it, but had lots of "stick not connected problems."   I'd bring it back and buy the usb version.  They make an upgraded version to the sidewinder with a larger and molded handle.  It's more expensive, 55 or so, but its worth the less complexity  of usb.

Guys.. I had EXACTLY the same problem until 2 months ago.

Sidewinder FF Pro, Simped digital pedals, SBLive Value card.  Every so often my rudder would lock hard left or right.

The source of the problem?  The SBLive card!

I ripped out the soundblaster and installed a Diamond Mx400 with digital joystick port.  Haven't had a calibration problem since.

From reading the Creative newsgroup, it appears that the SBLive is causing a HEAP of calibration problems in all sorts of different games.
