Polish Il-2
« on: October 07, 2012, 04:55:43 AM »
The Soviet Union began creating a Polish air division in 1943, with priority initially given to fighter regiments. Polish Il-2 units were formed in 1944 but initially with mostly Soviet personnel as most of the experienced Polish aircrew in Soviet territory had already been sent to the UK to bolster the RAF's Polish squadrons. Newly trained Polish aircrew began replacing Soviet aircrew by 1945.

This Il-2 is based on a photo and profile of a wartime Polish Il-2 Lyric1 found me here.

I redid or moved some paint chips and stains around on the skin a bit so it wasn't a carbon copy of my other Il-2 skins. What you are probably noticing though is the new bump and spec maps. This is the first Il-2 skin I have applied these effects to. Using the spec map I can make paint chips shinier and oil stains duller than the paint finish.
