Quesst 3 VR freezes and other things
« on: November 10, 2024, 12:21:19 PM »
I start voice attack and then start aces high "11". whether I do it from the desktop, or from withing quest the following,
1. On the desktop  It asks me if I want to use my quest which I approve
2. After game loads up it asks and I center vr using a key touch

I fly for a while and all is good,
1. every once in a while I get an hour glass in the right corner for just a sec or two
2. Then many times in a critical stage, landing, taking off, about to merge...
    a. Hourglass shows and and the  image freezes. I remove the headset and see the game on my monitor with plane flying. I put the headset back on, screen is fine but plane is at
idle but I can carry on.
    b. Sometimes after the freeze in headset I remove and game shows on monitor the ctd or straight to ctd, usually after the 3rd or 4th "normal" freeze
    c. Lastly, if I remove the headset to GV after a few moments ctd even though I have auto-switching enable in vr menu.

If i start the game and not put on the headset, i can gv for hours, but once I put it on (centering it), I am back to 1 above,

RTX 4070 duel OC (12 gbts ram), I7 9700 processor, 48 gbts of ram running off an nvme ssd

any ideas?

Are you using it for vox?  I tried mine, noticed the behavior you describe when I'd try to talk on vox, and went back to my headset.

May or may not have anything to do with it, just figured I'd mention it.

There is an issue with older Oculus headsets where when you go into audio settings there are two available options for the headset mic. One causes the freezes, and when you select the other every time you do a driver update it reverts back to the funky option.
