an export utility to convert to .avi, or.MPG .ra or anything to playback with some sort of media player thingy.  I remember at one point AW2 had a proprietary player that played gun cams.

1. Show what the pilot saw when the film was made.

I like this one. I want to know how I missed something, and what I was busy with at the time. Also I'd like to know how the hell all the aces out there manage to see everything while in a tight turning fight.

a time indicator will be REAAAALLY nice.

I like this one too.

That gets my vote what better way to get people turned on to AH
just send them a avi or have them on HTC,s website so people can see what it,s like :)

Still, always a good thing to include in the film.  Didn't AW have something like this?

yep, you were able to jump in your plane and fly around until the film ran out.

The ancient AW3 code recorded voice transmissions also - meant the files were BIG but it was superb for scenarios and squad flying etc. Now we have AH Voice here's hoping...

Duh! forgot one of the basics......

We've got a "rename" button (thanks); we need a "browse" button too; to be able to to organise our film archives in to subfolders.

the trails also have to be redone.  would be nice if only your plane and your foe's have trails.  it gets to jumbled when all the other planes show trails as well.  second thought, maybe i shouldn't have eaten the brown acid.

HTC is working on a new recorder. From what I heard, it's going to be a major improvement over the existing one. It'll be ready...in a fortnight :D

a lot of good ideas here, and i really like Zig's suggestion so my wingman can better understand how i get us so deep in trouble. it'd be a fantastic SA training tool.

and fwiw, i see *my* tracers on my films (or at least the hit sprites), maybe it has to do with the flight tracers on/off toggle used when the film was recorded. can't recall seeing enemy tracers, and i'm too lazy to look right now about this issue.

I'd like the new viewer to be backward compatible with old AH films as well.

Got some funny films from early AH days that I can no longer view.

My fav old AH film is the one of HBlair in his 109g10 interupting the FDBs by chute killing them and strafing them after they had purposely bailed out atop Shinerbock/Pizza Mountain and were running towards the Pizza and Beer bottle.

Purportedly they were having some kinda pagan ritual.
