(chuckle...) Shane, I just tend to defend buffers generally against (apparent) accusations of being mere bus drivers. Some folk seem to think that the only complicated stuff in a WW2 combat flight sim is learning fighter ACMs and deflection shooting, and that flying bombers s trivially easy by comparison. But that's comparing flying fighters well with flying bombers badly. Get seriously into flying bombers, and you get into checking performance under various loadouts, planning sorties and loadout according to mission profile and distance to be covered, etc.
Both in WB and AH I've had the experience of folk asking me, quite genunely mystified, what there is to buffing other than grabbing a plane with the biggest bomb load possible and more than enough fuel and heading straight for the target decided upon - and then calling me a dweeb because I cant give them an answer that will fit into a couple of lines of text buffer message, and not only that, I'm often actually worse at bombing effectively in the MA than them. (Shrugs...).
Horses for courses, m'dears, each to their own. I'm into the more realistic kind of situation/flying one gets in scenario games, and the amount of effort flying buffs well in THAT kind of game entails is way too much for the MA, one would get ulcers very rapidly trying to fly that way in the MA.
Anyway, I wasn't slighting your abilities in buffs in particular, Shane, more just digging back at a dig made against buff pilots, implying that we cant fly well :-)
- and continued good luck!
