I was woundering if anyone had any feadback to offer on this, I know a lot of folks are using Flat Screan TV's as Monators and I am seriously considering it, I was using a prodjector witch offered me a very large Screan, but the bulb burnt out and at 500$ to replace it I am looking at another option..somthing that will Not Burn out, I understand that 32 inch flat screans can be had for around 1,500, so does anyone at present use this type of set up? If so What are the recomended brands?

I have a 26" widescreen lcd TV with a DVI port and normal D-Sub connectors on it and I have to say I have been extreemly impressed with the quality of picture and ease of use. I don't use it as my primary screen at the moment because I have problems with desk space, you need to be a fair way away from the screen to be able to use it properly and I just haven't got the room to keep eveything set up in the right position to use it properly.

I do use it now and again for big screen gaming and showing off videos and pics I have on my laptop.

Not sure the brand is available in the USA but I would highly recommend looking into this sort of thing.

Mine was and eBay bargain. £835 which is almost exactly $1500. Seen it retailing for closer to £1100 exerywhere else I've seen it.

I'm also using 27" LCD (Medion MD41527, 1280x720) as my TV. I have a "media center" type computer attached to it. It has DVI and D-SUB inputs along with the normal video inputs, so it's quite usable with the computer. I'm not using it as a primary monitor since it's located on top of my dvd player and associated stuff. Also it wouldn't fit on my computer desk due to the width of the device.

I'm also quite impressed on the picture quality, especially considering the price (less than 1000 euros).

I think the above posters said it all. That size is to big for the desk and too small to see across the room. I do use my 50" as my primary monitor but I sit in a recliner at the far end of my small 10'x12' playroom. I am typing this message from that recliner without my reading glasses. Unfortunately, The LCD RPT's all have the same $500 bulb as your projector and fail frequently. I have had 2 failures in 14 months but it is covered by my Sears 5 year plan. I have a 17" LCD on the desk to balance the checkbook and as backup while waiting for the new lamp to arrive.
