Okay, I see. You're talking about registration, not restriction. My post was for restriction of firearms.
Frankly, I think registration is a very poor method, and will have little effect on crimes involving firearms. What is needed is restriction of firearms, namely non-hunting/competition firearms.
Now, to put the ball in your court, prove to me that widespread firearms in the USA are not a catalyst for increased violence.
Incidently, what are your views on Michael A. Bellesiles' book, Arming America?
