Duct, here is the problem:

Notice, the trace was to a different IP address (131.191.27.33 ) than where it dies at in Sprint's network.  The problem lies with Sprint.  As your ISP uses Sprint for thier Tier 1 connection, you need to contact your ISP and let them know about this problem.  Just point your ISP to this thread and good luck.

thanks for the heads up....I cant read these dang things for nuttin...I just save them and pass them on to those that do....:aok
Things seem to be working somewhat fine for me right now. I was just flying and everything was working as advertised.
I am going to file this last episode as weather related or otherwise. Its possible with the nasty weather we been having, something may have gone down due to power outages and such and been re-routed through less reliable networks....heck I don't know.
Speaking as a true  addict:cool: I am just happy to be in the unfriendly skies again.
COME ON MOFO'S COME KILL ME!!:( :rofl :furious

Weather can definately cause a lot of communication issues over the Internet.  Particularly when the weather changes suddenly.

Skuzz....mine seems to be working as well. I was only on for about 10 minutes but things seemed normal. I'm not sure if it was the weather or the IE7 that i had just installed. I removed ESPN, NORTON, and GOOGLE from my toolbar and that made a huge difference (or seemed to) on my usage.

Anyways, thanks for the help

:D

Skuzzy, Ductape:

Thanks for all the numbers, they dont mean a dang thing to me and I would never know where to find them or put them in. Im afraid if I use those numbers a trident missle would launch from some nuclear sub somewhere.
I am having the phone company check my line today and i will know tomorrow night when I get home. So far nothing anybody has said makes any sense to me. My game got slower and slower loading and now nothing.
That is all I can tell you. I will however double check my firewall and see if that is it. If not this seems to be a extremily difficult thing to fix and it might be the end of my flying Aces High. I hope not and I truly hope someone can help me.
I do thank each of you for your input.

Ping plotter is a utility that runs a trace route on your Internet connection and shows all the different connections you go through to get to you destination on the web. Like from where i live i get rerouted through at least 20 different places before i get to HTC. What it can tell you is where a problem spot may be and you can pass that information on to your service provider.
Here is a link for ping plotter

SKUZZY:

Question for you-----  If I call HTC will I be able to talk to someone who can walk me thru my system and see where the problem is? And if so Who might I ask for?  Or is this like trying to get the launch codes for nuclear sub?

  Thanks  Alan "FIREPLUG"

You can always call us.  Did you look at the Windows Task Manager and check the processes?

Here is step by step to do that.

1)  Make sure no program is running on your computer.
2)  Press Ctrl-Alt-Del, at the same time.  This brings up the Windows Task Manager.
3)  Select the "Processes" tab in the Task Manager.
4)  Look in the lower left hand corner for the total number of processes.  In a normal Windows XP system, this number is normally between 19 and 21.  If your is much higher than that, you are losing much of your CPU performance so Windows can manage all those processes.
5)  Next, look to the immediate right of the total number of processes.  There you will see the CPU usage in percentage.   You need to watch this for a minute or two.  It should bonce like a heartbeat between 0 and 1 (matbe 2) percent.  If it is spiking to anything higher, then you have active processes using up your CPU.

Now, the bugger in all this is what to do with those processes.  There is no magic list which can help you quickly determine what should be running and what should not be running on your computer.
You pretty much have to write down each process, then go to Google and search for it.  There are three or four sites on the Internet which should give you descriptions of what those processes are and whether or not they need to be running.

Now, you can call and talk to me about it, but if it is a resource issue, caused by too many running processes, then what I just gave you in the above paragraphs is exactly what I would tell you if you called.

Honestly, it sounds like resource issues.  Resources are used by each background process and when too many are running, your computer will be quicker to run out of resources whne asked to do something, like load Aces High II.

Every computer is different, and I, nor anyone else, can really tell you exactly what your computer needs to be running.  If your computer is a Dell or HP/Compaq, or some other OEM computer, then you can contact them and ask them about shutting down the many programs they automatically load for every computer they sell.
