Dixie Chicks album was remarkable, particularly the engineering.  The tour was done well too (16th row, Chicago).

Glad to see them rise above the Taliban book burning crowd.

Its a pretty sad state of affairs when you have to sit through the entire show to realize that all the hard rock and metal grammies were given out off the air.  Personally, I was hoping to see how they were going to treat "Crazy B****" while listing the nominees.

Maybe this is how Rap fans felt during the hair band era...

Smash, I'm sure anyone that's been around here will tell you I'm definitely one of Bush's fanbois nor am I part of the book burning crowd. I am a Texan and I am a country music fan. BUT, this award was all about politics, and had nothing to do with performance. The DC's have burned the bridge with country music and it's fans. Taking a "country" award and laughing about it just shows how shallow and hypocritical the DC's are. It was a spit in the face and they will never play on those radios again. Too bad they had to cancel over 1/3 of their tour because of poor ticket sales. I'm glad you had 16th row tickets instead of the Row 45 Upper Balcony seats you would have bought if the short, fat one could keep her piehole shut.

I have much less respect now for the grammys then ever before since the Dixie Cl*ts winning.

I remember seeing an interview with Lars Ulrich (been years ago) and they asked him what influenced Metallica most when they were growing up, his answer was Jethro Tull. So back off the "flute playing homo"...Ian Anderson is a freakin genius IMO. Anyone who can infuse the flute with true Rock and Roll gets my attention.

Why not?  Its funny.  The CM market treated them like crap, and displayed some fairly disgustiing behaviour.

The album is undeniably country, irregardless of what anyone, including the Chicks, says.  The mix is really good, and the song writing was excellent.  I heard the album around the release time and knew there was a chance for at least a nomination.

They may never play on CM radio again, who knows?  But in the end the decision to stick by what you believe and not take any crap vs bowing down for the money is admirable.

But I understand your opinion.  I have little desire to listen to Toby or Reba.  So there is certainly something to be said for being very careful to think before offering up a political viewpoint.

A lesson I sometimes find myself forgetting :)

Yet they denied they were country and all those that bought millions of there albums were not their fans anyway. But that didnt stop them from taking their bull**** token award.
