Advice needed about USB

Perhaps while we are all counting the hours or days for 1.02 someone could help....
Could someone please offer some advice re: Aces High dumping me to the desktop whenever my USB Sidewinder FF or USB Wingman Extreme is plugged in?
As soon as I click offline or online..Aces High closes and dumps me back to desktop...with non-USB controllers this does not happen. Has anyone had experience with this?

I have a "similar" problem.

I use a logitech joystick, non-usb. I can run AH once per re-boot, crashes to desktop if I don't re-boot after playing once.

If I close my wingman profiler, I don't have to re-boot but, of course my stick won't work right.

YES!! My problem was fixed by downloaded directx 7a whereas before i had only Direct7....go figure  
Gotta go download 1.02 now!!
Rocket do you have 7a installed?
