Depends RPM. Bailing wire can be a considered a permanent repair. Duct tape is considered a temporary repair unless it is used for repairing a leak.

get a car dolly from someplace and tow it that way if you want .  
also the tyrod ends arent goin to hurt your ability to flat tow it, if you cant find a dolly, but you will atleast need a tow bar! the knowledge you will gain from working on this ol heap will help you realize  college is the best place for you. or if you insist on this type of work maybe WyoTech.
