will a sick harddrive be the problem of a fresh instale of windows loading slow and working slow?

only things on it are windows and anti virus.

you click on something ad it take s a long time to select or start the application or the appliaction takes a long time to close ect ect?

That's awkward wording. Are you saying that after you reinstalled windows it started running slow?

Get a new harddrive or reinstall windows again. You can get a 250gig HD for about 70 bucks at Newegg.

When I last upgraded.. about two weeks later system crawled to a halt.

3-4 second pause in AH anytime it had to load skins (such as flying near other aircraft).  File transfers VERY slow.

Downloaded the WD harddrive utility.. and after 24 hours it was only at 10%.  I decided "to heck with it.. I'm sending it back".

They sent me a new one back about a week later.. overnighted it even!  Been working great ever since!
