I drained the tank and the lines to the fuel filter.Im gonna drain it from the carb down to the fuel filter next and try to drain the carb bowls. The tank has fresh premi in it now so it should straighten up once the bowls are flushed.Nit wit of a thing to do.Sheesh.

That's Odd Dre.
IIRC you should be able to reach the drain valves with a loooong 1/4"flat blade screwdriver?
In any case taking the tank off should be a 2 minute job.

Dead on.They were easily accessed. Thanks for the tip.Should fire right up once I clean that puddle of gas up under it from the draining of the lines.Might give Jackal1 a thrill to hear it backfired and torched. :rofl

Well......the bike was getting spark...gas was moving and it just wasnt making it to the heads.Tore the carb out to see if it was dirty....34,000 miles on it,and they were ok.Turns out the fuel pump is bad.Just took several hours nailing down the problem. It will run now on a full tank since I jury rigged the fuel line,Jackle may get his wish yet :lol, but I have to keep it topped off till I get a fuel pump.Im betting it costs around 35 thousand for one of them. :furious
But she lives again and after going on 10 years I can deal with one mech problem.

Hehe. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out what that button on the right handlebar was for and why it made a rumbling sound when I pressed it when I bought my Deuce.
After getting it figured out , my hyperextended kickstart knees have red flashing LEDs that read "Thank you" every time I press it now.  :lol

I have a 98' shadow "aero" the only problem I  ave ever had with her was I had to replace the stator. If you ever have to do this pm me or email me cause when I did it I had all kinds of ppl tell me how EASY it was....NOT  :furious
Just a FYI its a "wet" stator so ya gotta drain your oil first.....found this out the hard way  :O
once I got past this little tidbit it actually was pretty easy with the only complication being the neutral light wire running thru the area and having to get it and the boot it sits in to reseat correctly
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!
